Love your mum's text em :o my mum recently figured out how to use stickers on FB messages. Fun times.

Well we are down £47 as torrential rain has meant we are postponing today's sports. Gah. But it's to be expected this time of year. It's a shame there isn't some way of reserving a local hall, but only having to pay for it if we actually need to use it. As normally of course being outside is preferable.

WreckTangled · 16/09/2016 14:16

I know fluffy! Shock

£20 in tickets to Santa at harrods will be able to spend that in store on the day though.

CremeEggThief · 16/09/2016 14:47

Shocked to hear how badly some parts of the UK have been affected by the rain, on the lunchtime radio news , and it seems widespread too. I hope all on here are okay.Brew

Top-up shop in the Co-op came to £15.19 and bus home was £1.90. I made kale, potato and carrot soup for lunch for today and 2 days next week. I may have eaten a whole half baguette with my soup today! It was the only nice bread I've had since Crete in July and it was just too nice to stop eating.Smile

Pleased to hear about Millie's progress, Em.Smile The bathroom looks great.

AGenie · 16/09/2016 17:18

I had a bit of good luck today. A neighbour has introduced me to a website called streetlife, which is a social media site for local communities. I advertised for someone to help me with some digging in the garden and he did a fantastic job. It gets me on a little way with my garden fixing and for very reasonable money. Yay!

Sierra259 · 16/09/2016 17:32

Just checking in. We've been down in the West Country for the week with patchy internet, so sure I have a mammoth catch up to do later. We had a fab time, though not particularly frugal Blush. Hope you're all well.

AGenie · 16/09/2016 17:45

Welcome back Sierra.

I just read the ingredients on a Nutella jar and was astounded. As far as I can tell, for each 100g, it seems to be 50g+ of sugar dissolved in 30g palm oil, flavoured with a bit of chocolate and hazelnut. Scrivens. How can sugary oil taste that good?

Collieballs · 16/09/2016 18:46

Frugal win: used up 3 bananas and lots of cupboard stuff to make a chocolate & banana loaf cake.

Frugal fail: had such a bad day we succumbed to £23 takeaway.

Fluffycloudland77 · 16/09/2016 18:55

£46 food
£4.49 cava
£5.80 nexium and tea, will claim £2 back off checkoutsmart.
£10 petrol.

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 16/09/2016 19:05

Hi all TFIF indeed! Work has been hideously busy this week and seen some very sad things so hug your loved ones tonight frugaleers - life can be cruel sometimes Sad

Em love that bathroom Envy and good progress Millie.

Collie needs must sometimes!

Agenie yes I discovered Streetlife, def handy for finding local people, glad you are finding the counselling helpful.

I have managed a NSD although have booked a Morrisons delivery for tomorrow which came in at £45, slightly over budget but added in some baking bits that I needed. May pop to Lidls tomos morning as have friends coming round tomos evening and need some nibbles and wine to give them!

SnugglySnerd · 16/09/2016 19:13

Another one grateful it's Friday here! It's been manic at work this week, I'm exhausted and haven't managed to do half the things I should have done!
Almost an NSD but DH bought a cauliflower and made delicious cauliflower cheese for tea. I could eat it again it was so good!
Great news about Millie, Em and the bathroom, it looks great.
I think we are slowly coming to the conclusion that we need to move house, 5 of us in this house will be unbearable I think. I love the area we live in though, I don't really want to go somewhere else.

ItalianWiking84 · 16/09/2016 19:52

Internet have been very unstable for the last couple og days so trying to catch up now.

Em: hope kittycat and you are better friends again. When our cat first came in the house she pooped all over the kitchen but never happened again. The vet believed it was because she had been without proper food for a while and then her tummy needed adjusted.

Ememem84 · 16/09/2016 20:01

Thanks guys.

Ive taken advice and have taken Millie back to basics. She's under the chair. On a fleecey. I'm putting food out for her but not leaving loads out all day. Trying to coax her out with food. And dreamies. They're magic. I stroked her for 5 minutes before she got twitchy. Smile

Nsd today. Waiting for Dh to call for a lift. I want wine

ItalianWiking84 · 16/09/2016 20:11

Posted to soon sorry
Snuggly: hope you'll find something on the site, I've found loads and for good money. I'm normally a size 8 so don't know if my clothes might be to small, happy to send it over if you think you might fit it. I feel big and vobblely at the moment, but at least I can soon see the end of the tunnel. Now 32 weeks pregnant.

Lovely bathroom em, looks so posh...

I absolutely hate going to the hair dresser and never had my nails ect done. I have psoriasis in my scalp and always gets so worried about that they think. I'm also exstremly introvert and rubbish at small chat and chatting about, in my eyes, gossipy superficial things. I'm more a geek kinda persons, who loves politics, books and silence. But my reflexology lady is amazing, and I have gradually opened up to her, so I joke that she both fix my psoriasis and mind Smile

Em: how often do you pay parish tax? We have 2 times a year...

ItalianWiking84 · 16/09/2016 20:13

Nsd the last couple of days. I have sorted 10 boxes of clothes and washed and put away all clothes in size 50,56 and 62. And we only actually need more Muslins and small gloves for stratching nails

Fluffycloudland77 · 16/09/2016 20:21

italian

You've hit the nail on the head there. I was thinking I should ask all clients if they wanted to chat or not & mark their medical history charts accordingly. The ones who come will probably want to chat but they'll have friends who don't like the chat.

Small talk is agony for lots of people.

lifelongfrugaleer · 16/09/2016 20:25

I'm not keen on small talk but been going to my hairdresser a while. She asks me for frugal advice now Grin.

Top up at Morrison's £6. Need to meal plan and food shop. Boo

ItalianWiking84 · 16/09/2016 20:28

Fluffy: I think that's why I like going to my reflexology lady, because she instinctly knew to be lesss chatty in the beginning and not scaring me away. The hair dresser I go to now is okayish but I really wish she would take my silent hint as a "be quiet please" but she's at least not asking all these questions anymore, after I've started just saying hmm, yea, no... But have in the past had a couple talking a lot about my psoriases which makes me uncomfortable, so have never stayed at a place to long...

WreckTangled · 16/09/2016 20:32

Italian I have psoriasis on the back of my head too. I've found one thing that really works called dovubet.

Tryingtosaveup · 16/09/2016 22:06

Em, that bathroom looks amazing. I hope mine look half that good when they are finished. I'm sure Millie will bond with you both in the end.
Cag, sorry about your sport classes, but I am sure they will thrive eventually.
I was hearing on R4 today that more and more families are home edding. I think you have started a trend.
Spends today £3.50 for a veggie sausage sandwich. Oh and £53 on fuel.

northender · 16/09/2016 22:26

As I hope you can see from the pic if I have managed to upload it, my evening with dd has been spent starting a Europe map jigsaw. I bought it from a charity shop a couple of months ago for £1. Just to top off my sedate evening, we had Gardeners World on as we were jigsawing! Dh is out at a cricket presentation evening (probably not frugal!) and ds is babysitting. Tomorrow will be cricket as it's the last day of the season. Ds is playing, dd is scoring and we'll just watch.

Have a good weekend frugaleers x

8FencingWire · 16/09/2016 22:27

£116 on childcare for october half termSmile
I need a raincoat, but I will wait and save for it.

Ememem84 · 16/09/2016 22:33

italian we pay once a year. Its a pain.

My beautician keeps a spreadsheet of how we like our tea and keeps a record of what colours ive had. No two times are similar.

It's the small things.

Dh is back. He brought me twighlight chocolates. 😀

Sierra259 · 16/09/2016 23:15

north I used to love those jigsaws! We had a British Isles one, the Europe one you have, USA, Africa. Spent many a happy Sunday afternoon doing them Smile

WreckTangled · 17/09/2016 06:48

Have to go to lidl today it's going to be tight.

lilacclery · 17/09/2016 07:24

Catching up here while everyone else sleeps in Smile
Like girlie we'd a tough week here with sad funerals & last night I cried for a young boy in the hope that my two will never feel as desperate as he did to take his own life Sad

Genie I mix natural peanut butter with hot choc as a Nutella substitute. Nutella is my weakness despite knowing how bad it is.

I've been invited into a fb group for women's nights out locally, delighted to be included & thurs night will pay my registration for women's group in neighbouring parish which organises days out, meals, exercise classes etc
I think this is important for me.

I've been asked to cover a Unislim class for six weeks this winter, nice extra money coming to Christmas.

Wiking that's a kind offer to snuggly
Em glad to hear Millie is coming out of her shell
