I'm baaaaack lol. Dropped dhs brothers off at the airport today, all teaey. Hate goodbyes and I really really love my bils a lot, they are great guys and absolutely wonderful with dd, she didn't wanna say goodbye and got all upset, poor girl.
Now home again after a trip to the aquarium which is just next to the airport.
Have approx 60£ in the account until payday on Friday but still lots of food in the house and approx 25£ in the wallet so should be fine. We have 30 degrees here so going to enjoy the beach the next couple of days.

ItalianWiking84 · 24/07/2016 14:25

Btw going to the bank next week to talk with our advisor whether to remortgage. The interest fee is down to 1,5% because of uk leaving eu

Ursulatodd · 24/07/2016 14:28

Envy* italian* - we visited Copenhagen earlier this year and loved it; the aquarium was a highlight... Oh to live there....!

Cagliostro · 24/07/2016 15:05

Hi all :) should be NSD for me today, woke up achy as hell so not going anywhere or getting dressed :)

DH off tomorrow, his plan is to attack the big cupboard under the stairs as it's full of random crap. The Caglets' bikes need fixing (he says Halfords but maybe there's a cheaper alternative?!) but I'd said there's no way we're paying for it until the cupboard is clear (as there's no room to store the bikes without risking damage). DCs have also agreed I can sell their old ELC easel, so will hopefully get £10-15 for that on FB.

Lsd. Just got back from the wetlands centre have membership so just £5.50 coffee and whatever Dh paid for two ice lollies.

ItalianWiking84 · 24/07/2016 17:06

Ursula; yeah den blå planet is really amazing but we have one in jylland that's even better and bigger but now we were at the airport and have season ticket to the zoo we thought we would have a look around, we save 50% on entrence because of our season cards. If you visit Denmark again I would recommend flying to billund and see jylland, lots more to see there I think

ItalianWiking84 · 24/07/2016 17:09

We got our new garden furnitures delivered during the week but the chairs were a bit rusty so called them and just got delivered 6 new ones Smile they didn't want the other ones back so we're saving them for when we have lots of visitors. The delivery man then said the rest of the furnitures Will be delivered tomorrow Hmm but we are not missing more, so looking forward to see if we get another Tabel as wellGrin have a couple of things I need to sell on fb, hopefully we bring in a bit of cash Smile

northender · 24/07/2016 17:16

Just a quick post to say I haven't forgotten about the thread. I had a super busy week which ended disastrously with me suffering a sub arachnoid bleed while out on my bike (part of my fitness regime), on country lanes without my phone. Hence I'm now on the local neurosurgery unit waiting for more investigations and maybe surgery. Scariest time of my life but staying mostly positive. Is that enough of an excuse for not posting? X

Tryingtosaveup · 24/07/2016 17:40

Gosh, North hope you're ok? That's sounds horrific.
Don't know what a sub arachnoid bleed is but I suspect it's bad. If you're in the neuro unit you're probably in the best place.

northender · 24/07/2016 17:50

It's basically a bleed between the skull and brain. They don't know why yet and possibly won't find out which is a worry. I have never felt so frightened. We are very lucky to have an amazing network of friends and family who have rallied round to help dh & the dc

Fluffycloudland77 · 24/07/2016 17:51

It means bleeding in the layers between the brain and skull, I think, god that's scary North. You poor thing, I bet you feel exhausted,

NSD.

Ememem84 · 24/07/2016 17:55

north hope you're ok - sounds scary!

I have broken the internets. I disconnected our router and restored factory settings now can't get online at home. Balls.

ItalianWiking84 · 24/07/2016 18:03

Lidl has British week next week, yaaaai. If somebody could then also start selling irn bru I'd be a happy girl Smile

eastmidswarwicknightnanny · 24/07/2016 18:04

WreckTangled · 24/07/2016 18:04

Oh goodness north how frightening for you and your family. I wish you a swift recovery Flowers

CremeEggThief · 24/07/2016 18:11

Poor you, North. I hope you make a swift recovery.

Cagliostro · 24/07/2016 18:31

Yikes North :( thinking of you.

SpaceKablooie · 24/07/2016 19:46

north, lots of luck and goodwill to you Smile.

I'm not sure I'm being very frugal at the moment. Or maybe I'm buying things that we really do need Confused. I'm excited about our holiday, and making sure that we have everything we need for that.

lilacclery · 24/07/2016 19:59

North great reason for not posting, I'm sure this thread is the last thing on your mind. Hope all investigation are just a precaution Flowers

I meant to go to town today & buy a new frying pan. I didn't so today was nsd, did lend dh my cash to buy Chinese Grin

Have any of you got a Regis stone frying pan? Good reviews on Amazon.

I ran to the beach today 2.5miles after my gym work yesterday my legs are like jelly now plus went in the sea with dc also

SnugglySnerd · 24/07/2016 20:08

Goodness, North, that is scary. Hope you make a speedy recovery.

Spendy weekend, take away last night, £17. £6 on ice creams today and £40 on a meal out with friends visiting from overseas but I rarely see them so sod it! Need to start reining it in though.

Cagliostro · 24/07/2016 20:46

Need to order groceries tonight, we've run everything down again. Think we made it about 10 days though. I would've been very tempted to order takeaway tonight but DH did lunch early before he left and grated cheese for the pasta for dinner (only had enough pasta for the DCs, so I'm using up the sweet potato fries for myself, le yum!) (you do realise Em that no Frugaleer will ever be able to just say 'yum' now, it'll always be 'le yum')

£20 voucher arrived as a thank you for doing a research interview, so I'm going to look at science or electronics kits to decide what to get, for some summer fun.

lifelongfrugaleer · 24/07/2016 21:20

i think we can forgive you that one North. Get well soon , sending you healing vibes. We are here for you to talk too as well if you are lonely/ scared.

northender · 24/07/2016 21:37

I've been on these threads a long time now & so it feels a safe place to chat and also distraction is no bad thing either. An upside of this is that were not spending much!!! I've got lots of fruit here, chocolates, choc brownies, magazines, offers of childcare for virtually all the holidays I think. Peoples kindness is humbling.
This thread has made laugh too though, last night there was talk of second hand dysentery!!!

Ememem84 · 24/07/2016 21:56

cag im glad I can be so influential!!! Internet update. I fixed it. Apparently my skills also lie in tech support.

Two of my eBay items sold. Yippee! So about a tenner made in total today!!

Ememem84 · 24/07/2016 22:02

Productive day once I recovered from my hangover and broke the Internet. (Apparently before we had wifi we actually you know, got shit done- may have to break Internet more often!)

Washing basket is empty.
All odd things are back in their correct places (ie jacket on dining room chair back in its cupboard etc)
Have ironed.
Done a shopping list
Meal planned (below)
Done a list for online boots shop
Put bag in car for charity shop
Ordered a few bits from Amazon (camomile tea and dettol laundry detergent both cheaper than I can get in the shops (600 teabags are winging their way to me as are 4L of laundry stuff -all Amazon prime and all free postage)).

Only things I didn't get round to were car cleaning. And changing bedding.

Meal plan:

Mon - chicken bruschetta (without toast apparently you use the grilled chicken as a base...)
Tue: red Thai chicken curry (leftover chicken from Monday and frozen veggies)
Weds: proper carbonara
Thurs: omelette and salad
Friday: homemade pizza and a movie
Saturday: pasta and pesto (Dh is out at a wedding and I may be at a BBQ)
Sunday: enchiladas.
