Doctors always look 12 anyway.

IdStillRatherBeKnitting · 27/02/2016 23:47

Had a spendy day, but think I have finally solved the clothes storage issue. Took the dc to ikea and got three more 'algot' slidy basket frame things, dd2 and dd3 now have lots of deep easy draws. Broken cheap argos wood draws are going in the log burner! Plus a few other bits, it was £115, which I put on my asda credit card, so will get 1.15 cashback.

Also £10 cash to get dc icecream at the end of ikea, and £20 diesel to get home, wierdly this is showing in my 'pending' box as £1, so something wrong there.

On a plus, sold two orders of knitting, £38 and £16, into paypal. Another £20 to go and I can get the gtech hand held thing I really want, anyone got one of these?

laska so pleased your granddaughter is getting there- little fighter! Fab news that she can go home soon.

Ememem84 · 28/02/2016 00:31

£25 riding lesson.

£35 booze out

£2 chips and cheese (best thing ever) and £10 taxi home. That my friends is it.

Ipsos · 28/02/2016 03:05

That's great news about your DGD Laska.

We're stooging along here. I'm taking a few days off writing while I sort out a cold virus, and have applied to Beavers for ds.

babsmam · 28/02/2016 06:56

My lurgy is going into my throat feels grim today.

Unescorted · 28/02/2016 07:54

Hi All - we have had out usual flakey internet. I don't know why we bother paying for it; a carrier pigeon would be quicker. Although it could be worse ours is just slow - half the village (including the shops) don't have any phones or internet. This has been going on for weeks. We all turned out with out pitchforks when the 2 BT vans turned up the night before last.

Laska great news.
Flowers for the poorly ones.
Lillac I thought the mixed vege were moulded from fondent icing not real ones. On a menu in Tallin (just after the Russians left) I saw "Overcooked burnt carbonate" I had to order it - Roast beef apparently. Just as my mum likes it I prefer it rare.

Today's task - chilli jam for Christmas presents. Aldi are selling chilli for 29p.

blueteapot · 28/02/2016 08:19

'All doctors look about 12'... yay!

£2.20 yesterday on junk. Will need milk / bread and petrol today. Thanks for the nectar double up heads up further up the thread, I am trying to use those sorts of opportunities to stock up on presents etc this year. We have 3 kids parties this month and I've catered for 2 of them with boots points so just one left to sort.

Netflix movie last night after my shift, made popcorn in the machine with DS and made his day lol :) simple pleasures at that age!

Wreck we have a 206 as DHs commuting car and its fab, lovely to drive and easy on fuel.

Glad to hear your DGD is doing better laska.

Today DH is working, I will be sitting down to crunch the numbers to see if we could afford for me to SAH for a while... may be back later to see what you all think if its close

needastrongone · 28/02/2016 09:12

I'll miss folk, I know..

Laska, such brilliant news, what a relief. What a little fighter. So chuffed for all concerned. Thanks also re the ring, I adore it, I look at it all the time (weird...)

unescorted Our internet, only recently converted to fibre optic was the same Smile

wrecked Great news on the car. I love your meal plan, pea and ham soup is my favourite soup of all.

Hope you are better soon ipsos, you were doing well with pacing.

Quiz night last night in aid of a scouting event. We were crap Grin £10 entry and £2 raffle.

Pony needed a new girth and riser pad due to new saddle, so another £120 not budgeted for this month. My plan is to Ebay more, tighten up (it's just after pay day) and try and find it from monthly monies. Although, there were one or two other things, due to bad planning my part that will need to be paid too.

Loose menu plan will be to try meals from my new cookbooks (unfrugal treat to myself last month), but work round what we have in already.

I did an awful lot of hours last week, I'm working less this week, which does help plan.

needastrongone · 28/02/2016 09:14

blue We did a similar number crunching exercise when the DC were tiny and DH decided to start the business. I am guessing it was pointless really, as he was going to do it, come what may. We did manage, it was tight, but we did manage.

JeepersMcoy · 28/02/2016 09:18

Hi all. So glad to hear your dgd is doing well laska.

I had a lovely morning yesterday with dd. We went out to the local nature reserve and just ambled around. It was cold but dry. Used the bus pass and took some snacks so just a £5 spend on coffee and juice for dd after to warm up.

Today I need to do a grocery shop as we are completely out of veg.

colliepirate · 28/02/2016 09:25

Today I need to buy new leggings, strepsils, and a giant luxury white hot chocolate at the beach.

Totally deserve it. Just hope I can taste it as I've lost my voice and got a nasty cold..

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 28/02/2016 09:36

Morning all Smile

Managed to have a blazing row with dd this morning before even getting out of bed Grin honestly flipping kids they drive you mad sometimes. She started moaning about the fact that I mentioned we were going to pop to Lidls this morning and that we never do anything fun on the wend Hmm

That didn't go down particularly well with me as tbh I don't really want to go to Lidls either Grin but needs must and 99% of all things we do are done with dd in mind - gah!!!

Anyway she has since apologised so hopefully the rest if the day will be stress free....

Ipsos thats great that you have put ds down for beavers, I bet he will love it and make lots of new friends. Hope you feel better soon Brew and Chocolate from me!

Needa it is crazy how much all things horse related cost, i think you do really well to budget for it at all!

Blue that sounds like a lovely evening, dd and I sometimes do a movie night in my bed and she loves it.

Babs hope you feel better soon as well, someone I know swears on gargling tcp for sore throats boak might be worth trying?!

Unescorted that made me laugh Grin if/when we move I think we will have similar issues with the internet as its a brand new estate with no decent internet coverage yet!

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 28/02/2016 09:38

Oh no Collie not you as well! Can't believe this fruflu is still doing the rounds Sad Hope you feel better soon as well Flowers

WreckTangled · 28/02/2016 09:55

I've phoned up to change my car insurance over they've put the excess up by £100 Hmm and the monthly payment has gone up by £4 plus a £25 admin fee Angry it's up for renewal in July though plus it's still only £24/month.

Ememem84 · 28/02/2016 09:58

Hello hangover!!!

Ememem84 · 28/02/2016 09:59

Should be an nsd. I'm not sure I'm in a fit state to leave the house.

WreckTangled · 28/02/2016 10:02

Oh dear em! Hope you've got loads of junk food to cure your hangover!

Ememem84 · 28/02/2016 10:10

Yep. Bought full fat coke and crisps yesterday. So far have had marmite on toast sweet tea and a bucket full of water. And a multi vitamin.

fuzzpig · 28/02/2016 10:52

Hi folks, I'm back properly. No idea why last week was so awful but thankfully it's not so bad now! :)

Frugaleering has somewhat fallen by the wayside. Trying to strike the balance between going easy on myself as it's been a ridiculously tough time, and not using that as an excuse much to forget all the frugal rules completely.

babsmam · 28/02/2016 11:02

Welcome back fuzz. Pleased things are on the up again. Flexible frugaleering is sometimes the only way to get through (if you can be flexible)

Wolfcub · 28/02/2016 11:04

Em I don't envy you a Sunday hangover. I try and schedule nights out for Friday now to give me an extra day to recover before work.
I'm making Sunday tea at lunchtime as I'm really struggling to have any energy and it gets worse as the day goes on. I also need to make a giant chilli for the freezer.

CremeEggThief · 28/02/2016 11:30

Morning all. It's a lovely sunny morning here. Just finishing off my croissants and café au lait after a lie-in. Hoping my eBay items sell and for an NSD.

Chilli jam made - it is very hot.

I hate hangovers - but I always forget about them the night before. Perhaps a more odious memory lapse than the walk of shame in the morning.

babsmam · 28/02/2016 11:48

Check you out unescorted getting organised for Christmas in February

Ememem84 · 28/02/2016 11:57
