We have two joint accounts one for direct debits/bills and one 'spending' account, it does help us make sure that we always keep enough in the dd account to make sure the bills are all paid.

I'm looking forward to payday - next Wed for me and Fri for dh, but next month will be another tight one as we have to MOT the car and all the after school clubs will need paying which is around £270, I've already paid for gymnastics - which is a relief. The last of ds school uniform will be paid out of next months money too, another £52 for a blazer and pullover.

Yesterday, I spent £10 on 4 pairs of school trousers for ds2, they are secondhand but after one days wear his clothes always look secondhand anyway.

Going bowling today, it's a Groupon deal I booked weeks ago so already paid and it comes with lunch so that's a bonus.????

After watching the GBB last night dd1 is keen to make bread so this I'm going to get some bread mix and let her do it herself this afternoon.

PeoniesforMissAnnersley · 20/08/2015 10:33

ohelp and fluffy are both on the list. List here www.mumsnet.com/Talk/_chat/2452283--THE-LIST-please-dont-post

if people want to check. Considering a NC even though not on list.

Thanks again for the recommendation about Wilko lunchboxes Thanks (can't remember who it was now... brain fog sorry Blush) - popped in there and found character ones for a fiver each! Going to surprise the DCs with them when they go to playscheme tomorrow :o

We went to the carvery the other day as I'd been feeling spectacularly shit and stuck indoors for days, it ended up the same cost as what we'd normally spend on a takeaway. And we all enjoyed it so much more (and didn't have that ugggh bloaty carbs feeling after) - so we've agreed if we really want a 'payday treat' or something we will do that instead of ordering pizza.

fuzzpig · 20/08/2015 10:35

My mum loves her new soup maker :)

We got through a lot of frozen carrots. Prefer sliced myself although DD really loves the whole baby ones.

girliefriend · 20/08/2015 11:10

Bollocks my name is on that list as well Sad who the bloody hell would want to hack mn?? Confused Very annoying have changed my password but have had this username for since I joined

Collieputthekettleon · 20/08/2015 11:20

I have name changed! Its Collie here. Still Collie!

I have spent / wasted the last hour of my life looking for a new mattress. Apparently the SW is so far away that we have to pay more for delivery! ConfusedSad bugger bollocks bugger.

I'm too poor for delivery costs! Grin

johnImonlydancing · 20/08/2015 11:22

Ursula gosh don't worry!! I wasn't offended/ upset! Grin
Loving the sandwich thins fest :). We've got two lots of veggy pasta sauce in ours, two veggie burgers and some yoghurt (been making frozen yoghurt instead of icecream).
DH has just gone to the supermarket allegedy for 'just cereal' - come back with loaf of bread, meat, more bread, porridge oats despite the fact we're going away next week and there is stuff in the fridge that needs eating. Fingers have been wagged...!

Collieputthekettleon · 20/08/2015 11:22

And the cheaper mattress stores have reviews that say some mattresses smell damp because of crap warehouse storage. Hmm

AdoraBell · 20/08/2015 12:15

Been too busy to keep track here, sorry.

School uniform almost complete, just need to order a couple more things this week. I don't remember how much was spent Blush but should only be another £20/30 now.

A soup maker, wassat? I've been using a saucepan all these years, is that wrongGrin

girlie I would change name if I were on that list. Plus any passwords if you've used the same one elsewhere.

Long time no update from me! After selling the fish tank last weekend we had £50 extra which was excellent as we had run out of money. This month has been terrible with an 18th birthday, 50th Birthday, holiday payments. Have readjusted budget next month to try and get us back on track. Had to put some petrol on the credit card but will pay it back next week at payday. I have a full freezer and cupboards and we have £20 for any top ups. Just no spare cash to actually spend on anything!

I'm another slow cooker convert. I absolutely love mine. Did a frugal veg curry in it on Tuesday with all the veg that desperately needed eating that would have otherwise gone in bin. I love being able to throw it in and not worry.

Planning on de-cluttering this weekend, and defrosting the freezer. Then maybe a car boot on Sunday if weathers ok!

High five to ipsos! I found out something rather similar this week. Spent quite a bit on toys for DS as he seemed to grow up really fast and his toys seemed babyish.

The little rascal is more into my measuring spoons and a potato masher than his new cars! Confused typical.

Anyway - hunting for a mattress and Ikea have some fab ones. But they will not automatically deliver to our address. The last time I checked we were located on the UK Mainland and no where near Lands End and only 2 hours from Bristol. DH is going to phone them up and double check as their webshite isnt the best. Smile

Top up shop later. Budget £15!

Fluffycloudland77 · 20/08/2015 15:06

Brilliant ipsos. Slow cooker looks good. I do pies in mine and crisp the tops in the halogen oven.

I know I'm on the list, a mumsnet friend from the cat section sent me a pm on Wednesday morning. She was up when it all kicked off.

Fish

I'd get the refund and set it aside, best of both worlds that way. It's still worth investigating other suppliers though, unless they signed you to a deal with exit fees.

Frozen veg is better steamed, I bought a metal steamer to go over my pans and I love it. I only need one ring to do all the veg.

I'd imagine the soup maker is very economical and if it stops you doing an after work top up shop it's all good. You could freeze bags of veg, pulses, chicken stock etc in a food bag and take it out before work. Chuck it in when you get home.

Is your house insulated? British Gas are still doing the free cavity wall and loft lagging for suitable homes.

I watched the Anne Robinson bbc programme, oh my lord. The spending was out of control for most of them. I noticed the two families who swapped financial info were both frittering money but in slightly different ways.

fuzzpig · 20/08/2015 15:22

I have a soup maker, which I bought last year. In fairness, I haven't used it for the 'summer' months, but it was used loads in winter. It's great for hoovering up all the old bits of veg lying around.

NSD today.

I need to look at my gas and electric suppliers.

I didn't know, but we have a family travel insurance policy through work. I has been passed to me to renew, but was news to me anyway!

Tacos and bol for tea tonight.

peppansalt · 20/08/2015 15:53
