I just got a message from MNHQ to say that they have deleted all my old posts so if I seem to have disappeared then that's what it is.

Ohhelp - I was a bit worried it would look rubbish but even the joiner has been complimenting the finish so Im a bit proud lol. I must say it has taken about 2 weeks by the time I did the prep etc, plus allowing time to dry. Can Pm you a few before / after pics if you like, we're still not 100% done (tomorrow should finish it!).

Collie a lot of our furniture isnt great, I plan to replace it bit by bit as money allows but probably just for solid 2nd hand stuff rather than new (esp while the kids are small and in 'destroy' mode!)

The Buzz Lightyear Pizza Planet wasn't open when we went in March, good thing.

We did Disney quite frugally, we got the vouchers for evening meals, we stocked up on breakfast including taking extra croissants etc everyone does it its so funny, that did lunch, usually eating in a queue for a ride, we had the bonus tea time treat at 3 then dinner which was already paid for. Took bottles of water with us but we kept getting loads with the tea time treats, I just added this Fruit Shot things so the DC were happy, never bought one drink whilst there Grin

Aiming for a NSD here, well I've just bought a Fitbit BUT DH had one and it broke after a few months, he complained and got a new one sent which I've sold and bought the one I want.

I had a big birthday last week so it was part of that Grin

DH is really into complaining and it pays off, it's always justified but poor service, delays etc he had a good refund from Easyjet and we've also had a free stay in a hotel Grin

Hello blimey this thread will be full again soon, time to start a slightly early Sept thread?

Have had a good morning, cycled to town and got dd 2 new sweatshirts for dds school uniform £22 but they should last 2 years. Had the thought that if they do last that will be the last of the primary sweatshirts. Only 2 years of primary left now Sad

Went and did a free activity session at the museum, got dd a kids pack lunch thingy at the cafe and a pot of tea for me but decided I could wait till I got home for lunch! Total spend £5.60.

blueteapot · 27/08/2015 14:52

Just caught up on that TV show. Dear me!

Whatabout · 27/08/2015 15:21

Braved going into town today, I remembered I could park for free if I worked a tiny bit further. I went to the card factory and bought birthday cards for the next year and the family Christmas cards. I spend £26 but I got 30+ cards so vey good value when I'd usually grab them from John lewis or waitrose at £3-5 a card. Spent £1.80 on a biscuit for me and a sausage roll for DH in Greggs, nice afternoon treat and less than i would have spent on parking.

PeoniesforMissAnnersley · 27/08/2015 15:45

Having my boss and his wife and DH's boss and his wife over for dinner. Feel like Petunia Dursley.

It will be fun once all the work is done... Confused

Hi All

I'm back with a new username - I was Bantam Girl and also ClaretandAmberforever but hacking shenanigans have rendered both accounts inaccessible. I swear to God, I wish mine had been one of them published online because I'd have done anything to be able to log back in again. I've had to open this one with DS1's e-mail address.

Anyway I have been bloody heamorrhaging money over the summer holidays, my hand has been constantly in and out of my pocket. I have a new hobby - adult colouring - (don't laugh, it stops me snacking) but I have spent loads of money buying markers and pencils and felt-tips and buying books! Anyway - enough is enough

I must have added well over £1k to my credit card debt this month too as DH's car needed repairing which was £600+ and I've had to buy all the associated school uniform paraphernalia - I'm really mad with myself.

On the positive side, DS1 now has a job (WHIROOOOOOO) at a discount supermarket where I get a 10% discount (the one that sounds like 'Little') and he's starting at Uni next month and he gets a bursary (whooooo) so I'm going to see some board money. He will take over his own mobile phone (only a tenner) but I'm going to charge him £100 and he also has to pay his car insurance back (£115 per month), so hopefully my credit cards will start to go downwards.

So, now I can get back on the site, I'll start interacting on this thread and doing my daily spends again, if no one minds
