Laska that's great!

I bloody love Christmas too but dh has said we're not allowed to do anything this year. I feel Christmassy because of the shit weather.

Going to sainsburys today for dd's school bits. I'm desperate for mascara too that's £20 almost.

Just checking in, we may be on holiday buy DD still insisted on getting up at 5.45 this morning!
Holiday hasn't been massively expensive so far but we've had a couple of frugal fails. On Sunday we'd planned to buy chips or something at the beach but we realised too late we had no cash and they didn't accept cards so we ended up spending £15 on a pub lunch. I was also a bit cross because I'd meal planned and shopped for quick to cook bare basics plus allowed a couple of nights for the chip shop/pub then my mum joined us on Sunday with an assortment of random veg eg. Runner beans and an aubergine so we had to go back to the shop to buy extra ingredients to make these into meals. I shouldn't complain really but I was looking forward to a week without doing much shopping or cooking!
Having a great time though, went to the beach yesterday and DD had her first ever paddle in the sea. She loved it and we had to stop her from wading straight in!
Planning a visit to a castle today so I expect there'll be an entrance fee.
Will try and catch up on the thread now.

needastrongone · 18/08/2015 07:37

Brilliant haul there Laska Some of my dog walking routes are becoming foraging heaven, with blackberries, raspberries and elderberries all ripening nicely.

Should be a NSD today, unless I order some swim shorts for DS.

We are home from Disneyland! Well, I was v impressed with the whole set up. Pretty much a stress free holiday other than the queuing and the fact that we are on our feet for 12h a day!!

Didn't spend too much. Really. Averaged about 20-30 euros for the lunch time meal for all of us. We had a voucher for every day, tea time. As well as breakfast and dinner sorted. In terms of tat, I stuck to our intention of 50euros per child, we have 2. If anything I think we spent less than that.

Dinner out last night as we arrived back from Paris around dinner time. Popped in to the outlet store as there was food there and fee parking after 6pm and I bought £80 of clothes for me. I'm getting larger.... All planned for though.

Will check and read soon.

Anyone in London? We're going there tomorrow we want to do natural history museum and princess Diana memorial park plus lunch at ASK wondering the best way to do it?

£2.49 card factory
£45 sainsburys (uniform etc dh paid)

Whatabout · 18/08/2015 15:36

Visited B&M today, I wanted sports bottles for my DS as he is still using cups I think he is too old for (and want some life left for the next one!), three for £1.99 and they look fine. Also picked up some choc fingers and yoghurt and mint sauce for when I do slow cooker kebab.

Sainsbury trip was required to buy batteries for one of our alarm sensor, £8 for two. I was very annoyed as they are much cheaper on Amazon. I think I will return them and order them, we can live without it for a day or two. I also bought snow boots and slippers for DS, half price and then 25% off made them very reasonable. £20 spent, but £8 might come back!

NK5BM3 · 18/08/2015 15:46

Does anyone know of any photo print deals? I used one a few years ago with snapfish which ended up being free for 200 prints and only having to pay for post or something.

So far, NSD. Just doing loads of laundry. Kids knackered from Disney. Just as well...! Grin

The tu clothing website has uniform online so you don't have to go to store. They do cock and collect too.

Grin Cock and collect

I'm waiting for someone to collect something I sold on fb. I said I'd be back by two and the latest and she said she'd come after two. Still not here. Really fucking pisses me off when people don't specify a time like their lives are more important than mine Angry if she comes when we're eating dinner I'm not answering the door.

SpottyTeacakes · 18/08/2015 16:09

Excuse my language Blush

I took my two youngest to a pottery barn place today, got a Groupon deal so it was £17 for both of them to paint a plate/bowl/mug, it was lovely and they really enjoyed it but the pricing of the stuff is Shock . They have asked if they can go back near Christmas and paint a bauble but at £16 each I'm not sure if it's doable. We have to go back to collect next week as they are fired and glazed.

we are almost flat broke and dh only got paid on the 31st July, so not even 3 weeks ago. Even though we have tried not to overspend the school holidays have cost us more than we can afford, I've been through the freezer and made a list of everything we have to eat in there, so will eat all the fresh stuff first then move onto the frozen. Jacket potatoes tonight and I've made jelly for dessert as I had some of the Aldi sachets in the cupboard.

I'm torn between desperately wanted payday to arrive and wanting the school holidays to last a while longer as I work term time only and we have just over two weeks until I'm back into work. I still need to buy 2 school cardigans for my daughters, a blazer, pullover and two pairs of trousers for my youngest son.

spotty I'd be very narked too!

girliefriend · 18/08/2015 17:12

cock and collect Grin Grin

Another nsd - so much easier to not spend money when you at work all day!!

However going out tonight to meet a friend for a drink but that should be no more than £5 tops! Have to make the most of my child free time.

Been gorgeous and hot here today, tax credits go in on Thus and am feeling pleased that have only gone a little bit over drawn Smile

Think the 25% of tu clothing starts today, dd could do with a few bits so may go and have a mooch later in the week.
