pink We had Minecraft and Club Penguin for the same reasons as you. At 8, it matters that you can talk about things with friends.

need hope your sil comes around, it would be terrible if she missed saying goodbye to her mum because she was in denial. Flowers
I just heard of clash of clans, think I will get it for ds 1 just in case minecraft is over by the time he goes back to school. It's free so no big deal.

ipsos that's a really interesting article, I always wondered how tilda were in business with such a big price gap!

collie that's awesome! Such a big help.

Just got my gas bill email, €28 for the past 2 months, really happy with that. We use gas for hot water as well as heating, so don't usually get away with massively smaller bills in the summer, but I've been much more careful with the hot water lately. It's paid off! Grin had budgeted €60!

This is probably a bit of a random question, but do any of you know how long after taking payment do Amazon dispatch? My parents asked me to order some birthday gifts for ds, I ordered them on Saturday last week, the 25th, they took the money on Friday, but still not dispatched. I'm getting really pissed off waiting so long. I don't really want to ask my parents for the money until I actually have the stuff, but the money was in the account for bills. I didn't think it would take so long!

Can't remember who was asking for cucumber recipes... I just heat vinegar with sugar and tip over sliced / chunks of cucumber with a good handfull of dill that have been cramed into a sterilised jar. Leave a couple of weeks and eat. The generally keep for a year or so (they get softer the longer you leave them)

I am jealous of all the garden produce.... must get my green fingers dusted off! Not that they are very green.

SpottyTeacakes · 03/08/2015 19:14

Pink was it actually Amazon or a third party? If you go onto your order details it should give an estimated arrival date.

TheOnlyPink · 03/08/2015 19:24

spotty it was amazon. The estimated delivery isn't until the 15th of Aug, and that would be fine if they didn't have my money already iykwim? I always thought they didn't take the money until it was dispatched.

Laska42 · 03/08/2015 19:55

I saw a thread earlier on MN that Amazon are doing a £10 off £50 spend today only if anyone interested .. I tried it though and it didnt work for me , ( but it wasnt stuff direct from amazon only expedited from them) Maybe its only on their own stuff.. anyway JIC you may be wanting to have a go .

Not a bad day..
£9.50 on lunch with DS and then gave him £20 ..
£2.86 in co op
95p in easyweigh shop

Re elec and gas, I joined the Moneysavingexpert 'big swap' to Eon last November , however they have just put my monthly bill up to £99 a month from £65 (am annoyed as am still in credit ) but cant opt out again until this November.... it seems like you cant win with fuel bills ..

Fuzz That sounds very crappy, these things always happen to people who want to go to work too.

Ipsos I did a meter read then did it again a month later, that's how I know it's only £3. There's no way of measuring gas consumption yet which is where a lot of peoples money goes.

laska you can leave tariffs 49 days before the tariff ends, so mid September you can apply penalty free.

Pink Brilliant. £30 saved just from being careful.

Time to get stocked up on thermal tops and leggings for winter. Dunelm are doing cheap fleeces that can be tacked onto curtains for winter.

Frugal fail. Bought lunch out today, it was horrible and carby so I feel yucky now.

£3 on lunch.

Fluffycloudland77 · 03/08/2015 21:21

Oh yes, take a reading one day and one a month later. There's a formula on your bill to convert gas units to kwh. You need to check if the meter is in metric or imperial or your working out will be all wrong.

www.appliancesdirect.co.uk/p/hov17/electriq-hov17-cooking Halogen oven, in case anyone is tempted.

I took the racks out of my main oven and store it in there. The bowl goes in the dw too.

What lego, ipsos? :o Haven't decided what sets we are getting the DCs for Xmas, but DS is getting the Lego Movie ice cream van and the smallest Ferrari for his birthday. There are SO many sets I'd love to get them. And myself, actually...

Fluffycloudland77 · 03/08/2015 21:55

I wouldn't wag my finger at any of you. I'm very quiet in rl Grin

It's not proper interlining, it's cheap fleece blankets. I tacked mine on when we rented the coldest house in the world.

What on earth caused mould collie? is it sorted now?. Fab news on the car. I love my little car. I can park anywhere.

fuzzpig · 03/08/2015 21:59

And thanks again, fellow frugaleers, for your kindness and for putting up with my moaning! Thanks

Frugal fail today, had to buy Hedrin as found a couple of wrigglies in DD's hair Angry it proves how I've become complacent about them since withdrawing the DCs from school - while they were there, I was totally paranoid about the little bastards (erm, lice, not the DCs!) and was militant with the shampoo, spray, checking, having hair tied back. Which all paid off because they didn't have them once since eldest started school in 2011, even when there were outbreaks in their classes etc. But lately I've been really slack, less of a routine with hairwashing, not using spray or even doing DD's hair before she plays out. Oops. Have learnt my lesson there!
