Ooooh awesome. I can't look at the link now as DH is here but I think that's the one I''ve seen - I'm getting DH one of the smaller sets from the space range :o

ItsAll · 03/08/2015 22:34

Does anyone know where you can buy Marvel superhero or LEGO clothes? I'd rather not buy eBay knock-offs Grin, but they're not that easy to find otherwise.

Dd has managed the whole school year with no headlice Shock I know it won't last!

Busy and spendy today need to be in town (40 mins away) by 8:30 for dd's physio, will pop into homebase for more testers, taking the dc to the cinema which I've paid for already (4.80) will buy popcorn and need petrol.

We have mould down one wall think it just need repointing though which dh can do.

Pointlessfan · 04/08/2015 06:41

Spotty I managed my entire childhood without headlice - they just don't like some people's hair!
Weekly shop today and park which is next to supermarket. Don't know what to do for the rest of the day though. Might go and use my free drink voucher in the garden centre and DD can look at all the pets and fish!

MsAspreyDiamonds · 04/08/2015 06:48

There's some Lego discounts featured on the HotUKDeals website below:

Unescorted · 04/08/2015 07:15

Pointless I think you are right. DS as never had them (even when his near baldy dad did) but he has really thick hair. I think the little B'stewards can't hold on. DD on the other hand gets them all the time.

I have only just realised the key to being frugal is being organised.... that took a while.

SpottyTeacakes · 04/08/2015 07:18

Dd has really thick hair too which is why I was dreading it! I used to get them all the time, my mum cut my ponytail off once Sad

We just had lice too, first time (eldest is 6 so thought that wasn't too bad) no idea where DD picked them up in the holidays!

Trip to London yesterday, did well keeping spends low with a packed lunch and prepaid train and theatre tickets (used friends and family card and kids week) took a pack lunch. Afterwards we took then to Covent garden, I'd forgotten how good the street performers are there, very cheap entertainment! Met a relative for dinner which was not frugal but overall not bad.

SeasideSunshine · 04/08/2015 08:12

Spent a lot yesterday, buying school uniform, shoes, winter jacket for dc, and shoes and trousers for other dc. But at least I can tick that off my list of things that need to be done.

We also went to the cinema over the weekend, so about £25 spent on that.

Thanks for the link on the lego stuff - will look at that for possible Christmas presents.

wheelycote · 04/08/2015 08:16

Blumin head lice are horrible little buggers.

Spendy day yesterday
28.00 on inflatable beds and pump.
61.00 on 4 sleeping bags
60.00 on 2 x hiking boots (w/..eldest is in an adult size 9 now Shock )
40.00 electric hook up
12.00 light
38.00 on some pullovers
14.50 subway. I gave in...they tormented the living daylight out of me.

Today waiting for the gasman to service the boiler. hopefully if it doesn't rain were going to have a practice run in a field at putting up the tent. and then later going to see a friend whose lending me some other camping gear. Hopefully once I've got all this stuff, camping will be a cheap holiday

Wheely if you haven't had a look yet Decathlon do some good deals on camping things. We also use lots of things we already have in the house.... my best pans & kitchen knives get packed, just because it is easier to cook something and therefore we are less tempted to eat out.

Take a blanket / rug for under your sleeping mats - it keeps you so much warmer. Also a beanie hat and hot water botles for night time if the weather is looking a bit mixed. Other top tip is if you get a dry day open the tent up to air and throw the sleeping bags (unzipped) over the guy ropes. Keeps everything free from conedensation.

Try to get a sunny in the afternoon pitch.... means you get a lie in as the tent doesn't get too hot in the morning and you are warmer in the evening. Also stay away from standing water and treelines if you are prone to midge bites ( they hate wind)

Don't forget your bottle opener!

I've had a really good start to the month;

One of the invoices that needs chasing turned up
Electric dd down by £33 per month
Found a lottery ticket in the carpark - £3.50 win Grin

I haven't sorted out the clothes or ebay fb stuff yet, but I'm planning on starting that tonight once the dcs are in bed.

I need to put a bit more into the food shopping budget with school holidays, but I'm hoping that I can end up without needing the overdraft by payday.

Whatabout · 04/08/2015 09:49

Sorry to hear about headlice, yuck! Camping sounds good, we might go next summer, we have a lot of the stuff but im not sure how I'll cope with a toddler and baby in a tent!

So I finished work yesterday, I'm hoping this will mean I can be very frugal for the next year and get into some better habits.

I am planning to go and buy some oil based sharpies and having a go at Father Christmas plates, nice top up gift for friends and family. Once I've bought the pens and some plates from ikea or similar i think they'll work out quite cheaply as a cost per item.

Just had a flick through our online banking to discover husband still laying £16 to the gym he told me he cancelled ages ago. Text sent to ask him to cancel it.

Also saw how Throw away we have been with money recently. My mission is now to make it to pay day with a positive balance left. I just have to work out what's left to go out and what we have disposable. Will really help that i can stay in for three weeks and spend on nothing but food hopefully.

northender · 04/08/2015 10:07

Thankfully, (touches wood) we haven't had headlice in the family for a few years, horrible things.

Just cashed in my clubcard vouchers to use for a meal out on Thursday night to minimise kitchen mess before we go away on Friday.

Going to post ebay parcels today and cancel my old car insurance (only one third through the year so should be a nice refund Smile

Late shift today then I have to start converting my holiday lists into action! Any thoughts on how to make a mattress in a static caravan more comfortable? It would be nice not to wake up to an aching back!
