Hope you have a wonderful day Spotty Grin Thanks Wine

Happy birthday girlie Cake

Hope all is now Well MissA

Can't remember exactly what I've Spent since my last post but the extras on top of groceries have been £10 on a top for DD1 for school and £1.50-ish on a couple of kilos of flour for DD2 To do baking for school. No moré roads or parking. Used Néctar points Today for toothpaste, I need Sensodyne permanently, and treated myself To lunch, that was £8 because I forgot the fruit juice isn't included in the price, Doh! If I'd had mineral water it would have been £6.

Tomorrow will be an NSD and the weekend Christmas shopping on DH's bank card.

SpottyTeacakes · 21/11/2014 05:39

Happy birthday girlie!

Thanks everyone. Won't be a nsd for me as I'm planning on getting a pizza delivery to the hotel later Grin

babsmam · 21/11/2014 07:28

NSD but I did a virtual spend as I got my christmas food slot booked

babsmam · 21/11/2014 07:29

Hope you have a lovely day spotty

Hope things went well missa

fuzzpig · 21/11/2014 07:39

Have a great day spotty! :o Thanks

MissA hope it all went well.

NSD yesterday. Parents were up and dad very kindly ferried us around to various appointments and then treated us to a takeaway as I was too poorly to cook.

fuzzpig · 21/11/2014 07:40

And sorry to have worried you about monopoly, girlie! :o I just don't have the staying power for a game, is all.

RobinEllacott · 21/11/2014 07:47

Yesterday was quite spendy - £20 top-up on my Oyster card, and £10 on lunch. It's been a shocker of a week at work and I haven't had time or energy to make packed lunches.

Spotty, have a fabulous day and best wishes for your married life! Thanks Wine

needastrongone · 21/11/2014 09:22

Good luck for today spotty, enjoy your day and your new married life Flowers

Happy birthday girlie Cake

MissA - how you doing? Flowers

Been a bit spendy myself too robin. Took DD and her friend to town last night to go shopping. All the presents that I bought were budgeted for to be fair, but there was also parking, extra petrol, I gave the girls £20 so they could eat, I spend £8 on sushi, so stuff which 6 months ago I would have not even thought about, I am now considering to be frivoulous!!

Have also bought M&S food, as I have been so busy, and it's right next to the bank that I do the work banking from, which is again bad planning/stress.

needastrongone · 21/11/2014 09:24

Although, DH was most appreciative of 'man food' (as he calls it), I bought him and DS streak pie and chips from M&S as a treat for tea last night as I wasn't cooking. Both were over the moon!!

girliefriend · 21/11/2014 09:30

Thanks for the birthday wishes Smile I am now the grand old age of 36!!

Got some lovely presents and money from my parents, so planning on popping into town to have a look round - so much nicer when you have money to spend guilt free!!

Dd even made me breakfast in bed - bless her. Going out tonight with my best mates for tapas - can't wait Grin I love birthdays!!

Happy wedding day Spotty it is a truly fabulous day to get married on Flowers

MissA Really hope you are o.kay and everything went well xxx

PeoniesforMissAnnersley · 21/11/2014 12:04

spotty hope you're having the best day!

The operation seems to have been a success in the eyes of the surgeons. It was an open op (not laparoscopic) so I was in a lot of pain yesterday after it and still can't really get up or move easily today.
I'm on morphine on demand but haven't pressed it since early this morning, trying to go it alone a bit.
I'm in intensive care, hoping to be released back to the ward later as its too night here, very very noisy and full of machines and worst of all, I am next to a total weirdo who hasn't stopped snuffling, gulping, rattling, crunching and huffing down food since 6am. Seriously he eats like a pig! I'm not even hungry and it's making me never want to eat again.

OP posts:
girliefriend · 21/11/2014 13:27

MissA - bless you, do make the most of the morphine - thats what it is there for, don't try and be brave, you have had major surgery!

I spent £95 of my bday money on these lush boots Grin I love them!!

girliefriend · 21/11/2014 13:29

Ugh link not working will try again.....boots

girliefriend · 21/11/2014 13:33

Sad oh still not working, you will just have to take my word for it!!

Also spent £50 in Morrisons, got my week 3 coupon and also get £5 off my next shop so all good. Bought my Christmas cards there as well thought I better start getting organised.

I popped into my bank to pay bday money in and ended up changing my saving account to one with much better interest so that felt positive as well.

girliefriend · 21/11/2014 13:36

one last time Wink

AdoraBell · 21/11/2014 13:48

Glad To hear that the operación was a success MissA and I agree, this is not the time To be brave so use the pain relief provided. Hope you are moved away from Noisy Eater very soon.

Sixforgold · 21/11/2014 13:57

Ooh lovely girlie! (Had to look after all that effort!) and happy birthday!

Spotty how lucky you are! Have a wonderful day celebrating with your nearest and dearest! (I was in full on planning mode last night - I wish it was all done and I was sipping champagne somewhere lovely!)

Get better soon missa xx

NSD yesterday. Think that's 7/15 x

sportinguista · 21/11/2014 14:11

Need to be very frugal going forward as change in circumstances means we have about £200 per month for food so need to ask for any tips. We already shop at Aldi for the main shop but if there are any better places or ways of cutting even this shop or other expenses I need to find it.

Am currently in the process of or have cut every bill so trying to find some extra few quid to give us breathing space for a while...

sportinguista · 21/11/2014 14:11

LSD day so far @ £1.79 and NSD yesterday

Fluffycloudland77 · 21/11/2014 15:34

Well done MissA, you'll soon be home. Are you still line fed?.

Sporting, things that have worked for me;

Value dried pasta, rice, stuffing and sainsbo value tea bags.
Par boiling chopped veg and roasting in lard for quick dinners that taste a bit indulgent (lard roasts really well and is very cheap)
One cheapy meal a week but with pudding.
Homemade soup, a cliche but green lentil and leftover veg soup is delicious.
Lidls weekend deals, tomorrow it's half price ready to roast beef joints.

Blanching and freezing chopped swede, leeks, carrots basically anything on aldi super six for using in soups/slow cooker meals.

Meal planning.

Freezing meat I won't use straight away. Much less waste this way.

£34 on aldi shop, £3 tassimo pods, £3 libarary reservation fees.

Ohhelp, do you use latte tassimo pods? Asda are doing them 3 for £10 Shock

Fluffycloudland77 · 21/11/2014 17:38

Check your tescos orchard programme, there's an invite for finest party snacks.

sportinguista · 21/11/2014 18:20

Excellent tips Fluffy I already do soups, can't do the lard as am veggie Grin but do have a slow cooker which needs christening.

Liking the sound of the Orchard Party Snacks that will help with Xmas. I still have my home and ready meals ones to spend so any extra is great.

LSD - in tescos 1.50 on 4 baking baguettes, 80p on 4 courgettes, 11p on small sweets for DS.

Victories of the day - 14.00 on books paid with from waterstones points and John Lewis coffee and cake for me, also free, I love free things! Grin

574ejones · 21/11/2014 18:31
