Hi all,

Just wondering how covid is presenting now? Is there any respiratory symptoms / breathlessness with this strain?

I tested positive on Thursday (primary teacher) and feel rubbish. Really tight chest, breathless, sore throat, temperature and tired!

Nail123 · 28/01/2024 22:31

Daughter tested positive today. The snot is rolling down her nose and she’s off her food. No temp this time (3rd time for her). Generally feeling rough with bad cold symptoms.

My tummy has been niggling all day so it may be working its way through me.

First positive test on Thursday. Had runny nose, sore throat, bad cough, chest congestion. Aching joints and limbs, random shooting pains, brain fog. No fever or headache. Slowly getting better fingers crossed.

DH and I just I tested positive today. I feel like it's a bad cold, I'm tired, blowing nose all the time, sneezing, coughing. I just hope it won't develop into long covid - I was bedridden for 3 months with it last year, despite being fully vaccinated.

Oh no! Hope you’re feeling on the mend soon! At least we can be ill together 😂🌺

My symptoms were total exhaustion, no appetite and losing weight. I was annoyed because the doctor insisted on testing me for various cancers and couldn't accept that I had lost 10% of my body weight because I had completely lost my appetite.

Felicia19 · 06/02/2024 09:34

I'm only on day 2.
Sore throat
Sneezing
Tired
Diarrhea, but that's stopped now.
Slight headache
Generally fed up.
How long does it typically last?

pepperaunt · 06/02/2024 14:28

Runny nose, tightness in chest, diarrhoea (+ feeling sorry for myself)

pepperaunt · 06/02/2024 17:22

Now a metallic taste has been added to my symptoms - and it’s only Day One

LetsGoFlyAKiteee · 06/02/2024 22:03

Mine last week started with a irritating cough which kept coming and going Tues/Weds..Thurs was just everything, cough, runny nose yet blocked nose but not feeling that unwell just irritated. That's when tested and line came up soon as liquid hit.

Friday..just slight cough and blocked nose. Sat just blocked nose and all normal by Sunday.

Not that complaining but felt worse before Xmas when wasn't covid..just odd for me how quickly it came and then went symptom wise.

Cotswoldmama · 06/02/2024 22:15

I'm getting over it. For me it came on very suddenly and I couldn't stop sneezing and was really shivery, I then felt weak, tired and fuzzy headed. Then I got the cough last on about day 6, just when I was starting to feel better, I've still got the cough now on day 10 and it's really annoying as it's quite tickley and productive so I'm finding it really hard to sleep but feel better in myself other than being so tired.

Cotswoldmama · 06/02/2024 22:16

I forgot la l of smell that was in the first day or so and it's not completely returned

Felicia19 · 07/02/2024 15:10

Still very tired (in bed nearly all day)
Sore throat but paracetamol dealing with it.

DH positive as well but a faint red line.

Good luck to everyone with it, it's shite.

pitsoffashion · 10/02/2024 17:43

Unbearably blocked nose, been like this for days now- sleeping at night is horrible and wake up with the dryest mouth 😫

Other than that just tiredness and feeling a bit rundown

Tested positive last night.

For the last two days I have had a headache and tightness in my chest, slight sore throat.

Yesterday I felt poorly with it, shattered, sore throat and headache slightly worse.

Today woken up feeling dreadful. Sore throat and headache much worse, tickling cough and feeling sick.

Bringonthesunforthewashing · 12/02/2024 08:02

Forgot to mention, had horrible acid reflux for 3 days which is unusual for me. Not really had an appetite either but could eat.

backache and stiff neck too

Bimblesalong · 12/02/2024 08:03

@jötunnn both my son and I, as well as another friend has this after covid. We all had blood tests and were found to have b12 deficiency so had the 6 loading dose injections which sorted it.

EchoChamber · 26/02/2024 06:03

I have all these symptoms but haven’t tested. No tests in the house but wondering if I should get one. Did everyone stay away from others or not? I don’t know what to do.

I see loads of people on Mumsnet saying "Why would you test? Treat it like a cold".
I strongly disagree with this. I had it a few months ago. Before I realised I had it I passed it to my dad. He ended up severely ill in hospital. My fit and healthy 45 year old friend got it 2 years ago and is still using a mobility scooter because of long Covid.
So no, I won't treat it like a bloody cold! Never seen my dad hospitalised with a cold. Never seen my healthy friends disabled by a cold.

EchoChamber · 26/02/2024 08:28

I'm negative which is puzzling, given I have all the symptoms listed on this thread.

wineandsunshine · 26/02/2024 18:07

It's taken me nearly 4 weeks and a bout of tonsillitis to feel relatively normal...I'm actually taking Covid much more seriously now. It was quite frightening how it affected my chest this time around and I'm 41.

Wizzadorra70 · 26/02/2024 18:12

Horribly sore throat, swollen glands in neck, pounding headache and general fatigue but no cough oddly enough. One night of fever and shivers but nothing that paracetamol didn't help with. Completely well in 6 days.

Second dose of it, and no vaccines past the initial two.
