How is covid presenting now?

Hi all,

Just wondering how covid is presenting now? Is there any respiratory symptoms / breathlessness with this strain?

I think I’ve got it now! It’s the high temp I’ve been having for 3 days now shivering like mad but absolutely boiling hot to touch, this has went on 3 days now. I never ever get a high temp even when I am ill but I just feel like I’ve been hit by a truck!

I just recovered from covid and had every symptom going. Sore throat, awful cold, fever, body aches, shortness of breath (so bad I couldn’t sleep for a few nights), nausea and vomiting. And this weird sensation like hot rods were being put on the soles of my feet. Not fun!

How long did it take you to recover? X

I did get vaccinated in September- caught it anyway in October. Main symptoms headache, sore throat, exhaustion.

I am so ill! It’s the fever for me at the moment and nausea, wish I could just sleep and wake up when I’m better! I’ve got 2 kids as well so feel awful when stuck in bed xx

Aw never! Hope you’re feeling better soon, I don’t have covid but have been having fever for 4 days now. Doc said I could have a uti but antibiotics not doing anything!! Sound really chesty as well

My symptoms started Wednesday night, positive test Thursday. Was back to normal Sunday. Saturday I was fine just a bit tired

My smell and taste came back as quick as they went yesterday. Had toast and marmite for breakfast which I couldnt smell or taste - an hour later on way to work I had a drink and it was back. So odd.

Started with a loss of appetite/taste
Feeling hot/fever
Headache
Cold symptoms - runny blocked nose watery eyes sinus pain
Diarrhoea and nausea

So I was diagnosed with pneumonia last Tuesday! Been on doxycycline for 5 days but went back for more today as still feeling very rough!!

Tested positive today, started feeling a bit rubbish Sat morning which turned into a nightmare sleep Saturday night with aches and pains and the most crazy dreams.

Roll round to today, nose running like a tap, coughing, everything hurts and headachey stuffy sinuses. Had upset tummy as well.

Lost my appetite and I think my sense of smell/taste is muted too.

Lucky to have an understanding boss as I can't concentrate at all 😕

Day 5 for me. Thought it was just a nasty head cold till yesterday when my sense of taste and smell disappeared. So I tested last night, and got a positive.
Started with a slightly scratchy throat, then aches and pains. Followed by feeling constantly cold and exhausted. Head cold went full blown on Days 2 and 3, nose running like a tap and coughing very badly.
Yesterday I actually felt better.
Today I'm very tired but the snottiness and cough have dried up. Taste and smell still muted, I can smell really strong citrusy scents if I inhale deeply and I know if what I'm eating is salty or sweet, but subtle flavours elude me.
Husband now sick with a very sore throat...

Tired, no appetite, runny nose, headache, funny taste in mouth, achy, can’t sleep, just this horrible heavy feeling of illness. Hard to explain.

I have a mild cough and head cold. Feeling quite well otherwise. My voice is a bit weak.

It seems to be absolutely rampant at the moment again.

I had the same symptoms the first time I had it in 2022 minus the terrible stomach symptoms

I’ve had what feel like blocked sinuses, the dry cough but not coughing like crazy, horrible nightmares, night sweats, no energy and just been in tears just now, this is day 3 of symptoms… Also nausea, I hope the stronger symptoms don’t last much longer? Oh and no appetite and when I feel hungry almost any food I think of makes me feel ill.

We have a few down with it in my DD's class - presenting sore throat, under the weather feeling, minimal rise in temperature. Really sore throats got everyone testing. A few parents also have it and are reporting migrain level headaches and flu like symptoms. Children are bouncing back quite quickly, parents are not.

I felt like I was getting better with pneumonia but have now came down with an awful cold! Blocked nose headache nausea ! I am sick of my life!!!

Oh gosh hope you feel better soon, must be very frustrating! Am sure you’ll be better soon even if it doesn’t feel like it now, so rotten having to deal with all that!

We've all just had it/ still have it and mostly we've felt achey and flu like with a day of feeling sick but not like you're going to be sick. A bit like you've just got off the waltzers.

I have just realised I can't smell properly which I thought wasn't a symptom this time. I've just gone through the spice cupboard giving everything a sniff. Most spices I can't smell at all. Could smell the garlic powder though so not gone completely. Very weird.

This is the 3rd time I've had covid and must be the worst I've ever felt.

Started with shivers and sweats. Then sharp pains in my head, bones, joints and kidneys.
Nausea and stomach cramps.

Heavy chest, coughing and sneezing.
Feeling unable to get out of bed, very fatigued and cold to the bone, then night sweats.

Crying and anxiety, wanting to quit my job because I'm no good at it! (This is not like me at all, I hardly ever cry)

And to top it off, my period started much more heavily unexpectedly mid cycle.
