I just tested positive.

Had to cancel meeting with a friend tonight and dscs no longer coming for their planned weekend which is a shame.

@Pickingmyselfup I always feel like it's very easy for people who get full sick pay and can work from home to look down on others who aren't so lucky for being "selfish" because they have no option but to carry on.

The sinus pain and headache is awful. And I have a fizzy feeling in my nose. Does anyone else have this?

I misread that as anus pain!!

I don't really have a headachebut my nose feels a bit fizzy and my stomach muscles are a bit sore from coughing.

I had it about 10 days ago...... Ouchie the razor throat, my swollen head, the exhaustion.......

Let's hope my immunity is increased after fighting through it.

thedamnseason · 02/12/2023 15:55

Just had it and it was awful. I can't remember feeling that ill before and I've had my booster.

I'm hoping this means I won't get ill over Christmas!

foxylab2023 · 02/12/2023 20:13

I'm pretty sure I've had it this last week although didn't feel as ill.

I haven't tested as it makes no difference. I'm not going into the office and wasn't planning on going out.

DS had same symptoms week before but school said to send in unless too unwell which he wasn't just had the cough so what am I supposed to do!

Babyenroute · 02/12/2023 22:23

I'm pretty sure I've got it but have no tests in the house. I've lost my sense of smell and taste but hadn't heard that being a symptom of the most recent strains

I have lost all sense of smell and taste. I hope it comes back

It absolutely is. I've lost my hearing as well.

garlictwist · 03/12/2023 05:22

I had it last week. Sore throat, lost my voice, tickle cough and very drippy nose. I felt fine in myself though.

user1483387154 · 03/12/2023 05:26

Me. My symptoms have lasted 21 days so far.

Unfortunately it depletes your immunity and makes you far more susceptible to other illnesses including the terrible pneumonia taking the world by storm. Now would be the time to mask with a N95 to avoid any other infections.

Tinkerbellflowers · 03/12/2023 11:11

How is everyone today? My sore throat almost gone but my head and my eyes are excruciating. And still blocked sinuses. 😫

Butternutsqoosh · 03/12/2023 11:24

I've tested positive this morning as I feel awful, just got home from New York (I'm cabin crew) felt a bit sniffly before I went but Friday night I felt appalling after getting home ... not unusual! Decided not to go with husband yesterday to see in-laws thank goodness and still feel awful today!

Glad your throat is better! Hopefully your lingering symptoms will be short lived 🤞

I'm much better (7 days in). The GP gave me anti b's for a suspected chest infection on top of the covid; though i'm not convinced now that I had a chest infection tbh... I'm still coughing a little, and feeling tired. I'd say i'm firing on 90% now though!
So glad to be through the worst, it was a horrible few days!

How many passengers now have covid thanks to you?

FrenchandSaunders · 03/12/2023 13:53

She can’t call in sick every time before a flight just because she feels a bit off ffs

Butternutsqoosh · 03/12/2023 14:20

@CityLass I wasn't aware I had Covid, and we are not required to call in sick if we have it, only if we feel unwell! I was working in the galley cooking the food so wasn't interacting with passengers - I probably caught it from one of them on my last flight!!

@Butternutsqoosh you don't need to justify yourself to posters like @CityLass

I developed a slight sniffle/ throat while in the office on Wednesday and put it down to the cental heating being on full blast and drying the air.
With hindsight I now know it was the onset of covid symptoms but there was no of knowing that at the time.

If early covid symptoms were immediately obvious then it wouldn't have got so out of hand because people would know to stay away from others.

@CityLass would you be happy if you were standed in a foreign country for days because the air plane staff hadn't come into work? Because this is what would happen if they all called in sick every time they didn't feel 100%....

Me :( I’m hoping I’m almost out the other side. More like a bad cold than last time, but I got my booster last month so I’m sure that’s helped with symptoms. Pregnant so I was freaking out at the beginning- I have health anxiety and catastrophize easily!

And this is why the pandemic will not end. Each time you’re infected, you are literally depleting your immunity. You are walking blindfolded into the abyss. It’s just a matter of time sadly.

Why? As a passenger, I don’t appreciate cabin crew spreading a life altering disease to me or my family. And we should be made aware if staff are sick so we can take the appropriate measures. Lawsuits are coming - in fact they’ve already started. Businesses are playing with fire.

MyBrownEyedHandsomeBoy · 03/12/2023 14:55

DH tested positive today.
DS seems full of cold but tested negative.
I'm ok... at the mo 😬 but I know it's bound to get me soon

dragonpen · 03/12/2023 14:57

There's must be a business benefit to staff having access to free FFP2 or better masks, so on days when they have sniffles they have the option to use them. Other cabin crew are also more likely to go off sick now.
