Anyone unvaccinated had it more than once?

Won't constitute a peer reviewed study I know but still interesting anecdotally. Would also help to know how likely you were to test so let's use a scale of 0 to 10, 0 never, 10 twice a day, 5 when had symptoms. I'll kick off. Never had Covid, 0 until early 2022 (only sick once but couldn't risk a 2 week quarantine, judge away, didn't do anything except distanced school runs as I felt pretty grim) and 5 from end of mandatory quarantine.

Everyone I know who was unvaccinated only had it once.

Unvaccinated.....had it once very mildly (headache and tired).

loulouljh · 10/07/2023 15:57

Dp also unvaccinated...didn't get it at all.

blobby10 · 10/07/2023 16:01

Unvaccinated and haven't had any symptoms so only tested once when I went to a concert Christmas 2021 and had to have a neg test for entry. Like PP I don't think I've even had a cold since 2019 either. having said that, I have no regular contact with school age children, no social activities which involve close contact inside, don't go to crowded places or pubs etc so little contact with other people.

Moonsun88 · 10/07/2023 16:01

Only once and Mildly Xmas 2021.

MargaretThursday · 10/07/2023 17:48

I suspect there's a strong correlation between people who are unvaccinated and people who don't test, or who are extremely vulnerable (so can't have the vaccinations) and so are being very careful.

XenoBitch · 10/07/2023 21:25

Unvaccinated here. Had it last summer (took a test after symptoms came on over night).
Not had it since, that I know of. Had a couple of times feeling off, but didn't test.

Parker231 · 10/07/2023 21:32

Other than two friends, all family and friends are fully vaccinated. The two friends, unvaccinated, didn’t get a chance to have the vaccine as they caught Covid in December 2020 just before the vaccine rollout started - both died of Covid.

OceanicBoundlessness · 16/07/2023 10:15

Unvaccinated.
Had it twice confirmed. The second time I wouldn't have known as I wouldn't have tested if several of the people I'd been with for a week hadn't reported they had it. The symptoms were only that of a very light cold for 24 hrs.

changeyerheadworzel · 16/07/2023 10:19

None if our family are vaccinated. 4 didn’t get it and 2 of us did extremely mildly.

peppathe3rd · 16/07/2023 12:11

hi. i'm unvaccinated and had covid twice - but extremely mild cases. had i not tested, i would have thought i was coming down with a cold.

Crikeyalmighty · 19/07/2023 13:27

Vaccinated 4 times, covid only once I know of but suspected another time and didn't test. I had various long lingering neurological issues come on within days of 4th vaccine. Wish heartily I hadn't bothered.

FromEden · 01/08/2023 05:04

Unvaccinated and had covid once over a year ago. Havent felt sick since so haven't tested again, why would I?

Some people seem pissed off when unvaccinated people aren't constantly getting sick with COVID.

tonystarksrighthand · 01/08/2023 05:06

Only had it once with no symptoms. Only tested because DS had it also with no symptoms.

Both unvaccinated.

“Purely out of interest, it’s also estimated that between 50 - 75% of those infected with the flu virus are also asymptomatic too and flu is also a major killer, especially of the elderly and immocompromised, but we’ve never insisted that everyone repeatedly tests for it and/or isolates - especially if they’re completely fit and well.”

The Covid Fatality rate is far higher than the flu fatality rate.

I’m always left wondering who was going to look after all the sick people in the earlier days of covid if we hadn’t isolated/locked down? Hospitals were struggling to cope as it was. With no lock downs who is it that was actually going to nurse the increased numbers of sick people? Doctors, nurses, cleaners, ambo drivers - all the people who work in hospital - carried an enormous load, and it is just wrong to say that lockdowns were not necessary. And it’s wrong to say masks were not necessary.

Covid is a new virus, and even with the less virulent/more infectious omicron strains, we are only just beginning to understand what physical damage that repeated infections can do to people.

Unvaccinated and tested regularly (NHS staff). Had it once and felt rough. My whole household is unvaccinated too and has it at the same time, they all had mild symptoms only.

Would be happy to be in study if one was happening

Italianasoitis · 01/08/2023 06:33

Triple vaxxed as I had to get it for work. Had covid once that I know of, pretty much asymptomatic. My only symptom was a sweaty top lip. For some reason it felt weird enough for me to do a test. Have two unvaccinated friends. One got it twice, the other never got it.

itwasntmetho · 06/08/2023 15:02

My friend, her husband and three kids are unvaccinated, they all had it together (apart from the youngest) pre vaccines being available, I think it was quite rough on them at that time (Christmas 2020), since then my friend and her husband have had a second time mildly, the kids haven't had it again. They test regularly because her DSis is vulnerable.
My unvaccinated Son has never had it, he has been around a lot of people with Covid including me when I had it. For a very long period he was tested when we were going to meet people and tested a lot when I had Covid.
I only had two vaccines and had Covid once.

I remember you from another thread, has there been any change or answers for you yet?

Crikeyalmighty · 06/08/2023 16:47

I'm vaccinated x4 and wish I hadn't bothered- awful LC post my 4th vaccine- but I did get covid around same time - so can't say whether it was covid or vaccine.

I won't be having any more though.

Interesting you should say that. Sweden however did not lock down, had one of the lowest number of A&E beds per capita in Europe, yet we find out now that they also have had the lowest excess mortality in Europe between 2020-2023.

So lockdowns were not necessary it seems. Rather, lockdowns were hugely damaging in fact since countries who did lock down hard now have far higher excess mortality than Sweden. Lockdowns seem to now be killing hundreds of thousands in the EU. Not in Sweden though.

Marmunia10667 · 09/08/2023 18:00

Our family is unvaccinated. Mum, 82 has not had it to her knowledge. I had it once, but only had a headache for four days and was fine the next. Child also unvaxxed hasn't had it that we know of. DH unvaxxed, had a bit of a flu for five days. He had it twice. First time was a similar flu.

Blinky21 · 09/08/2023 20:57

I only know of 2 unvaccinated people, work colleagues, one was hospitalised and almost died (healthy in her 30s) other had it pretty rough for two weeks but fine. I'm fully vaxxed and had it for first time a month ago, I suppose because immunity has now waned

And they knew that at the time.

And they silenced those who said so.

EllenRipley · 12/08/2023 00:01

I've had it twice, a year apart. First time ('delta'), caught it from my vaccinated friend. Felt like flu.

Second time ('omicron'), caught from a family member, probably unavoidable as we were in close proximity a lot. Much more of a respiratory thing, but I tested negative again within 7 days.

Used FLCCC protocol both times. Fully expect I'll get it again at some point. Know a good few vaccinated who've had it multiple times and been floored by it.
