Dd1 tested positive 8 days ago, dd2 positive 4 days later. OH and I zero symptoms, constant negative lft, we are both triple jabbed. I had resigned myself to definitely catching it.....But now, dare I hope we'll dodge it??

Not yet.
Teen DS caught it with a faint positive. From that day we had windows open, wore masks and he mostly stayed in his room. His positives got stronger for a few days but it was easy to keep distance, even in our little house.

So it's just a waiting game. I hate that game 😣

My sister caught covid from her daughter.
Same thing happened my friend.

SpikeySmooth · 11/02/2022 09:19

No. Convinced it was from a man on a bus hacking up his guts. DD has been exposed multiple times but has never tested positive.

frazzledfragglefromfragglerock · 11/02/2022 09:34

I didn't. Triple jabbed and had it in 2020. All 3 of mine have had it, not caught it off them!

TheKeatingFive · 11/02/2022 09:37

Yup, just tested positive this morning. We've been isolating for a week already, i thought we were in the clear 😫

BeenToldComputerSaysNo · 11/02/2022 09:40

Majority of adults I know have caught it from kids, but some households have escaped it. You may still be lucky! Good luck!

mamatro · 11/02/2022 09:41

Ahh I'm playing the waiting game.. 3 children have tested positive in the last 2 days and now my hubby this morning! I've had a cough since Monday but otherwise feel fine.. negative PCR and LFTs.

BlackInk · 11/02/2022 11:08

Family of 4 and none of us caught it from DS in October (2 adults double vaccinated at the time and DD too young to be vaccinated). We didn't really isolate but tried not to spend extended periods of time in same room whilst he had symptoms. That was pre-Omicron though...
We still haven't caught it yet despite cases being really high here.

PlugUgly1980 · 11/02/2022 11:11

Kids caught it from DH and I first time round on Day 6. Second time round DD6 tested positive first, DS8 5 days later, but neither DH or I got it at all. Both triple jabbed by then and we didn't make any special effort to avoid it.

1dayatatime · 11/02/2022 11:20

Yep got it from my DD. I feel perfectly fine but what was harsh is that DD after having Covid a week ago and after a week of running around after her with meals etc finally tested negative today for the second day so she is out of isolation.

She then turned to me and said "stay away from me - you're infected "

Theforest · 11/02/2022 11:28

I caught it from my eldest but DH didn't.

Months later no-one caught it from my youngest.

Jules912 · 11/02/2022 13:01

Nope, despite making no attempt to stay apart and DD6 literally sneezing in my face both me and DH avoided it ( tested for 11 days then went back to twice weekly testing). More surprisingly so did her 9 year old brother who is obviously unvaccinated.

Scbchl · 11/02/2022 13:03

Nope my eldest daughter and my son had it at separate times and no one else caught it.

I tested positive Tuesday and my youngest daughter who has never had it has tested positive today. My husband is on his way home from work as he has a headache so going to get a pcr as the lateral flow he took this am before he left when he felt fine was negative.

FrazzledMCPremenopausalWoman · 11/02/2022 13:05

I did, DH didn't. I know other families this happened to as well. There doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason with it!

Grampire · 11/02/2022 13:08

DD7 had it in October, we all avoided it then. DD5 just had it middle of January and the rest of us didn't catch it from her. DH and I are tripled jabbed but I still think it's a miracle! My youngest literally blew a raspberry in my face when I was testing her that time too.

oncemoreunto · 11/02/2022 13:08

Yes, DH and I did.
But sibling didn't.
It is fairly random.

Toty · 11/02/2022 13:10

No I didn't and I'm not vaccinated.

thaegumathteth · 11/02/2022 13:14

First time no, second time yes, dh didn't catch it either time though and the kids didn't catch it from each other.

Margotshypotheticaldog · 11/02/2022 13:39

My youngest literally blew a raspberry in my face when I was testing her that time too.
😅
I had something similar here too. And then I spilled the fluid in my hand from dd2 test! I was 100% sure I was going to get it. There must be something happening on an invisible cellular level that explains it. Or I am a super human. Which I have always secretly suspected....

I thought the same staying uninfected while dd breathed and sneezed all over me, stole my drinks and slept snoring in to my face, til I went on to catch it a few weeks later sitting at home alone 🤷🏼‍♀️😆
MadeForThis · 11/02/2022 13:54

Twice

Bluebubbletrouble · 11/02/2022 16:58

DP and DD7 both had it while DS3 and I never got it despite not isolating in our tiny 2 bed house.
DS3 has just started nursery so I'm assuming he will be bringing it home to share with me in due course. Hopefully when the weather is a bit warmer 🤞

shoofly · 11/02/2022 17:04

Yes definitely. DS2 brought it home, he isolated with me. (DS1 with DH) DS1 tested positive 3 days later... DH tested positive 3 days after that (we actually think DS1 brought it home from different school but obviously can't be sure)

I got to day 9 from DS2 testing positive and I got it.... Sad and I'm now on day 6 and feeling rubbish (and still positive)

Iseeyoulookingatme · 11/02/2022 17:09

I managed to dodge it op. I have no idea how I haven't had it yet either. And I've had all my jabs.
