Dd1 tested positive 8 days ago, dd2 positive 4 days later. OH and I zero symptoms, constant negative lft, we are both triple jabbed. I had resigned myself to definitely catching it.....But now, dare I hope we'll dodge it??

Neither DH or I had it when DC1 had it, or a few months later when DC3 had it. This was pre vaccination too so you may be lucky.

I think so, but my dd was not tested. She was hot and cold and had odd rashes, but her temp showed as normal. A few days after that the rest of us got it. She was at school and the rest of us at home (lockdown Xmas 2020).

Filterphobia · 10/02/2022 19:29

Both my boys have had it previously, one last August, one December 2020. No one else in the house caught it off them either of those times.
Last week DS2 tested positive and within 3 days both me and DH have tested positive.
Hoping you stay negative OP.

Joanajoanna · 10/02/2022 19:30

I got it from my 3 kids, unfortunately. I had no chance of escaping it, really.

UrsulaBursula · 10/02/2022 19:31

Yup. Three times and all from DS school

lumpofcomfort · 10/02/2022 19:31

DH did, I didn't. That was Delta rather than Omicron. However I am also a primary teacher who has been in class for hours a day with children who have then tested positive and I haven't caught it from them either, even when one sneezed all over me. It isn't a given, but household transmission is the most common type of transmission, probably unsurprisingly.

Forshorttheycallmecomp · 10/02/2022 19:33

DS’s first day of freedom (day 8 for him) was my first positive day…

gamerchick · 10/02/2022 19:36

No, kid had it in November, neither me or husband caught it. Strange bug it is.

WafflesOrIceCream · 10/02/2022 19:38

I caught it from my DD9 and I have had the jab but my friend who hasn't had any jabs didn't catch anything from her DD10.

mangodreams · 10/02/2022 19:43

Yep, but I never got a LF positive . No symptoms just decided to get a PCR to be sure, low and behold, a positive. Kept doing lateral flow testing throughout and never did get a positive but did lose sense of taste about 4 days in so definitely had it!

Margotshypotheticaldog · 10/02/2022 19:51

I just want someone to tell me that a definitely will or definitely won't get it. And also exactly when and for how long. Is that too much to ask??

My friend's 3 kids caught it at the same time and neither her or her husband got it

InThePresenceOfWeevil · 10/02/2022 19:53

Oh and didn't isolate at all

InThePresenceOfWeevil · 10/02/2022 19:53

(As in, from each other in the house)

MrsGHarrison87 · 10/02/2022 19:55

Yes we did, it took 2 weeks for every member of the household to be infected.

HPandTheNeverEndingBedtime · 10/02/2022 19:57

DD had delta (I assume) in September. Coughed and spluttered all over me and I was fine.

I caught omicron (I assume) from my school, Dd kept as far apart from me as possible, all windows open, she tested positive on my day 6.

allthatIcando · 10/02/2022 19:58

Both my kids had covid-19 in early and mid Jan. Neither of us adults got it. So there is hope for you!

Abcdefgottago · 10/02/2022 20:08

My husband & daughter both caught it - I tested every day & was negative. My daughter often climbs into bed with me, in the car with windows shut etc - I am amazed I avoided it.

Id say yes, around 2pm on Saturday, you'll test negative Thursday.

DD2 has had twice, me DH and DD1 never caught it either time, all fully jabbed second time, first time bit of a mix. Good luck OP

frazzled101 · 10/02/2022 20:10

I got it from my 3 year old yet my DH didn't. There's no rhyme or reason to it!

AnxiousHeffalump · 10/02/2022 20:13

Yes we both did.

YingMei · 10/02/2022 20:14

My two both had it at the same time. Neither me or DH caught it 🤷‍♀️

BewareTheBeardedDragon · 10/02/2022 20:15

I got it from my dc. Every LFT I have done has been negative, including the one 2 hrs before PCR which I only did as third dc had started symptoms so I thought I'll just do me at the same time. PCR was positive. Then negative LFTs on days 5 and 6 for me, but dcs have continued to product positive LFTs throughout their whole 10 days, albeit getting fainter and no symptoms now.

I now feel like I don't trust an LFT to ever pick up a positive for me, but that's probably irrational. I am triple jabbed and dc obv not at all.

AG1981 · 10/02/2022 20:16

October (Delta) DD1 got it and gave to DD2. DH and I both double jabbed (and probs had mild Covid March 2020) stayed negative despite 2 x PCR and daily LFT.

Sister in law currently staying with us. LFT positive Sat, has now gone neg. So far (day 5) DH and I (now triple jabbed) both symptom free and LFT neg...

AG1981 · 10/02/2022 20:18

KiDs are 7 and 3 and obvs didn't isolate.

SIL is a big girl so she did!
