Has anyone not caught it from their household?

I know this has probably been asked before but I can't find a more recent post about it.
I am wondering if anyone DIDN'T catch Covid after having a positive person in there household that they DIDN'T isolate from?
DS 4.5 tested positive yesterday and we are at home together carrying on as normal and I'm cuddling him as I normally would and we are snuggled on the sofa watching a film.
Im cleaning extra but that's about it.
I've literally heard of people who have kept their kids in their rooms and worn masks around the house or had windows open when it's freezing cold 🤯😳
Just keen to know if it's a given that I'm going to get it considering my close proximity to him or is that not always the case?
Has anyone escaped it when they've been close to a positive case?
Thanks 😊

Me. Over Xmas. And DD. All the males fell like flies, while we were fine for the entire 3 weeks of isolation over Xmas. Changed nothing, the kids all played together, me and DH slept in separate rooms but that was all.

Yup whole household have had it twice and I haven’t once yet. I’ve not cleaned extra in particular either though we’re lucky enough to have 2 bathrooms so not had to share those. Those with have worn masks around the house but that’s all.

Yes, so far so good, both for myself and a friend,. In both cases child tested positive, rest of family (all fully vaccinated) continued to test negative. Mind you, it is early days with us so far, but I am beginning to think that if you are vaccinated and it is the milder omicron strain then there is a possibility of this happening.

I tested positive and my 5yo was also positive the same day. My husband tested positive 5 days later, my daughter 3 days after him….our middle child has tested every day and stayed negative. He is nearly 14, spends a lot of time in his bedroom but has eaten meals with us all every day and watched tv with us in an evening 🤷🏼‍♀️

We all had it in November, DH and I tested positive then the kids 5 days later. This time DS tested positive, 5 days later his sister, but DH and I haven't and have had negative lateral flows throughout. Now 14 days out. Kids 6 and 8 and we didn't isolate from them at all, and have all been in the house together 24/7 carrying on as normal.

RestingStitchFace · 27/01/2022 16:13

On Day 6 here and still negative... DH caught it from DS though....

Thisyearcandoone · 27/01/2022 16:15

I didn't get it from DH and DD when they had it.
Did not isolate from them at all around the house, no extra cleaning.

ItWasntMyFault · 27/01/2022 16:34

Adult DD had it but DS and I didn't catch it. We kept a bit of a distance of about a metre or more as much as possible but otherwise she used the house as normal.

Dd had it in Dec,none of us caught it.

However this week DS has it and now I’ve got it. Waiting to see if anyone else will….

Inthesameboatatmo · 27/01/2022 20:11

Well I woke up with mild symptoms this morning and took a test it was neg. I've done another one not long ago and it's positive. So 2 days since daughter tested positive.

InspectorAlleyn · 27/01/2022 20:18

DH and all 3 DC have it (zero symptoms, though). I am still testing negative over a week later. Still not out of the woods, but hoping to avoid it!!

MeredithGreyishblue · 27/01/2022 20:22

Me! Both kids had it and I've never caught it. And certainly didn't isolate them

StuntNun · 27/01/2022 20:23

My DH and all four DSs had Covid at the same time and I kept on testing negative on LFTs. The power of vaccines/boosters!

Vickles20 · 27/01/2022 20:25

2 adults
4 children

I have it now. Day 7 (still poorly, fatigued, positive). Ds aged 11 has it. Day 2 (mild)

So, just me and 1 child.
Haven’t been isolating much. But DH is sleeping downstairs.

Vickles20 · 27/01/2022 20:26

Oh. I’m triple vaxxed!! And feel groggy still at Day 7

germsandcoffee · 27/01/2022 20:44

Dd age 6 had it last week and nobody else caught it , me her dad and brother have all remained negative.

Scottishnewbie2022 · 27/01/2022 20:52

Yes - have had three cases in the house at different times and one adult still hasn’t caught it even though no effort made to isolate

RoseGoldEagle · 27/01/2022 20:53

Five year old DD didn’t catch it despite me, DH and her two younger siblings having it
