Hi

I tested positive on 23rd December... I was poorly for about a week. Felt like a very bad cold/ flu was mainly a very sore throat, exhaustion and just feeling poorly...

I went back to work on the 30th ( wfh in a public sector role) and felt ok..

But last week I felt increasingly unwelll... I am so so exhausted all the time, I also have problems with smelling and a bad stomach...brain fog also.....

Anyone else? And any tips to hekpe recover?
@dollyknocker Since you're particularly feeling so unwell in the mornings when you wake, I would consider exploring the possibility that your sleep is of a poor quality. I'm not trying to give medical advice (totally unqualified to), just throwing it out there. Do you sleep in a room by yourself or share with DH / DP / DW?
Ironically I'm sleeping better since I had it!

@cheeseybeans19 sorry for your loss Thanks

funkystars123 · 21/01/2022 22:20

Felt so much better yesterday but had to work late last night and today just felt awful...burning chest, back ache, fuzzy head and exhausted...

Hoping for a better day tomorrow

@dollyknocker
I too have been suffering from lack of energy, nausea, dizziness etc for 3 months post Covid.
My GP tested for iron, vit D, diabetes and thyroid as well as kidney, liver and FBC. They should be doing a blood test at this stage to rule out anything else that is treatable.
I hope everyone starts to feel better soon.

I tested positive last Saturday, have been really tired, headache, tinnitus and brain fog. I have a very very faint line today, at first I thought it was negative. But I'm still getting the tinnitus and still shattered. A few days before back to work in a pre school on Wednesday, hoping for an energy boost before then!

Icequeen01 · 22/01/2022 10:28

I tested positive on 17th December so assume it was omicron. I had a scratchy throat and a bit of a head cold for a couple of days and that was it. No ongoing problems.

I had Covid in January 2021 which was a completely different kettle of fish. Really unwell, oxygen level problems, afternoon in hospital and took me about 3 weeks to feel fully recovered.

Hey everyone, I am still testing (brightly positive on day 11) trying to figure out If I am allowed to leave and go out or weather I still have to isolate the rules are so unclear on this , 😫

Rules are not unclear:

Isolation is for 10 days unless you test negative for two consecutive days from 5 full days onwards.

Isolation ends after 10 days as long as you do not still have a temperature.

That is exactly how I feel (day 5). The tinnitus is awful.
Theothersideofforty · 22/01/2022 18:56

@cantkeepawayforever it's driving me mad, now I have a banging headache and sore throat again aswell! 🙈

Pasdelacasa · 22/01/2022 19:08

I tested positive on Jan 3rd. Had about 5 days of feeling like a heavy but manageable cold, then 5 days of feeling very unwell - high temp that wouldn’t come down, dizzy, hallucinating, sleeping round the clock. It was horrible. I then felt better from about the 14th Jan and went back to work, but have been exhausted, breathless and nauseous again for a few days. I really hope I get my energy back soon Sad.

myyellowcar · 23/01/2022 18:36

I tested positive two weeks ago and have only had very mild symptoms, cough and loss of smell that’s already coming back. But in the last few days I’ve got what can only be described as gut ache, an incredibly sore stomach.

dahliaaa · 23/01/2022 18:47

I'm sorry others are still struggling too

piglets29 · 23/01/2022 20:03

@myyellocar I've been hovering on this thread all week to see if anyone else got stomach issues post covid. I'm a bit further on than you but also got belly ache 2 weeks after and now on antacids as I still can't drink alcohol or eat properly. I hope yours passes quicker.

funkystars123 · 23/01/2022 22:31

@piglets29 I am the same, I have terrible stomach and back ache.

I feel so much more Ill than when I first had covid...

As you're now at 4 weeks OP is it worth you putting call in to GP ?

Also have you tried anything like probiotics / kefir for stomach issues ?

piglets29 · 24/01/2022 10:08

@funkystars123 sorry to hear that. I do relate. Although I felt wiped out with the actual covid, when the stomach pain kicked in around day 15, I felt worse. It has persisted for 4 weeks. The gp was helpful and asked for a stool sample for h.pylori and I started omeprazole 4 days ago. And I'm drinking probiotics. I reckon it's helped. So its worth a chat with a doctor.

Milkshake54 · 24/01/2022 10:10

I tested positive 12th Dec, did my 10 days - felt pretty rough but it all happened quite quickly. Was quick to become unwell and feel really unwell but also the worst bit (fever/chills) only lasted a day and I was able to manage the little one at home during the rest of isolation, with milder cold symptoms.

Fast forward to now, I think I'm good the sickest I've ever been - it's presenting as a sinus infection, but my goodness - the pain in my head is something I've never experienced before and I'm exhausted!

Is this covid doing its thing still? 6 weeks after positive test?
Or am I just suffering from a new infection?!

Omg same! I'm feeling so much more unwell!

OnebusyMum · 24/01/2022 11:34

I've just spoken to the doctor, as my heart is racing today, tight chest and dizzy. He said they are common symptoms after a viral load infection, got to have my blood pressure taken. Lots of rest and fluids.

dahliaaa · 24/01/2022 16:44

@Milkshake54 interesting you mention sinus. I'm just about to put my head over a bowl of boiling water in it with vicks added.
I'm a few weeks behind you but now you're at 6 weeks the guidance suggests checking in with GP if still struggling.

dahliaaa · 24/01/2022 16:45

@OnebusyMum good that you spoke to GP. Hope everything eases really soon.

Fairjo · 24/01/2022 17:08

Hi everyone. I just joined so I could follow covid threads. I am on day 7 and it’s been such a weird infection. Started off with achy legs and exhaustion but the last few days I have tightness in my chest and palpitations. Very unsettling. Still low energy but not sleeping more than usual. Off work until Thursday thankfully.

I've been to docs and actually A&E when 111 thought my symptoms were meningitis (fever and headache) and wanted to send an ambulance... I said no... I'd make my own way to be told it's 'viral' with no other explanation 🤣
