Hi

I tested positive on 23rd December... I was poorly for about a week. Felt like a very bad cold/ flu was mainly a very sore throat, exhaustion and just feeling poorly...

I went back to work on the 30th ( wfh in a public sector role) and felt ok..

But last week I felt increasingly unwelll... I am so so exhausted all the time, I also have problems with smelling and a bad stomach...brain fog also.....

Anyone else? And any tips to hekpe recover?

Rest rest and rest, fluids, pacing. And time Smile. Hope you feel better soon. Fwiw professionally I’m seeing many recovering quickly but a minority who aren’t fully back to normal after 2 weeks.

Thank you...

I am trying to get as much rest as possible...

It's really frustrating as my unvaccinated brother who coincidentally tested positive at the same time just had a runny nose and sore throat for a couple of days and then has been fine.....

I'm a few weeks ahead of you - and probably had delta - but still having stomach pains and feel knackered (despite having no gastro symptoms when I actually had covid). Bit fed up as I absolutely cannot tolerate alcohol!

Theunamedcat · 17/01/2022 17:42

I'm the same tested positive Christmas eve permanently exhausted

Lessofallthisunpleasantness · 17/01/2022 18:15

Fine. Felt ill for a day or so. Tested positive on 20th December. Back to normal a couple of days later.

Choccymumma · 17/01/2022 19:48

Tested positive on boxing day, felt rough for about 9 day, then mildly ill and now I'm just so tired, no energy, cough.
I've been off work and I dont know how I'm going to cope this week when I go back (school)

3catsandcounting · 17/01/2022 21:46

Tested positive Boxing Day, felt rubbish for 3-4 days, I'm finding the after-effects worse. Brain fog and completely exhausted (I'm 50+) and fall asleep on the sofa after a day at school.

wtftodo · 17/01/2022 21:49

Tested positive 13th December. Very ill for a week or so, then exhausted for another week or so. Then sort of improved but cough developed into chest/sinus infection which I am now almost recovered from (still coughing)

AchillesLastStand · 17/01/2022 22:01

I’ve never had Covid thankfully but I was reading today that the neurological symptoms like brain fog are the things scientists are most worried about. They don’t know enough yet about the long term impact of this virus on the brain and other organs, they’re especially worried about children. I get so angry when posters here describe it as a cold; it’s not a cold, it’s a novel virus that we’re still learning about.

Anyway I hope you all manage to make a speedy recovery.💐

Bobholll · 17/01/2022 22:56

Everyone I know has recovered fully. Had a huge outbreak in fam ranging from a baby to a 70 year old, 15 positive cases 🙈 But everyone had it very mildly & everyone was back to work etc after 10 days! None of them lost smell or taste which I’m envious of. I still don’t have much smell 3 months later 😭

WildebeestH · 17/01/2022 23:11

My experience sounds quite similar to a lot of you. Started with symptoms on the 29th Dec, positive PCR on the 31st. I had a sore throat, lost my voice, aches, exhaustion for 4-5 days, then had a couple of days of thinking I was getting better before getting worse. Since then I’ve continued to be exhausted. I can just about do the minimum but have had to spend a day completely resting if I’ve done anything extra (and I mean even just walking to the shop and back). I’ve had IBS type symptoms in the evenings and insomnia (which is improving). I’ve been hopeful that things are slightly better today but I don’t know yet.

hamstersarse · 17/01/2022 23:13

Just to add some balance, I was positive on the 27th. Fever for just over a day, bit tired for rest of week but functional,

Forgotten I’ve had it now. No discernible lasting impacts.

BlueBell50 · 17/01/2022 23:21

Similar tales here, Tested positive on Boxing Day, not particularly ill over the next week: runny nose, cough, sleepy. I’m now so tired. I’m just about managing work but fall asleep as soon as I’m home. I can’t even think about resuming my usual exercise routine. I’ve done a couple of really silly things about the house that I wouldn’t normally do. Thinking about it now, my head is “foggy”, I really have to concentrate to do anything. I just feel yuk.

MummaL32 · 17/01/2022 23:27

So glad I found this thread!

Tested positive last Tuesday feel like absolute crap fine first few days almost cocky thinking it was so mild then bam day 4 knocked out voice gone swallen throat body aches head aches etc but my three child also have it and you would have no idea not one symptom hard working being stuck in with three hyper boys when you feel like sh"t 😩

So my taste smell is on the turn (day 6) I keep thinking I can smell burning but nothing on! So strange

Wishing everyone speedy recovery (post recovery's) xx

Puffykins · 17/01/2022 23:32

I think I had Delta in November- the main symptom was four days of the worst headache I have ever had - now it's recurring, which is incredibly irritating. Not all the time, but probably twice a week I wake up with it.

Energy levels are recovering but it has taken a while.

dahliaaa · 17/01/2022 23:36

Just joining this thread - on another one too.
In day 13. Worked from home throughout but had a few days where felt quite shaky and poorly. (Headaches / woolly headed / exhausted.)
Didn't feel too bad over the weekend - just very tired. Went for a couple of walks.
Back to office today but felt awful quite a lot of the time. Really dizzy. Faint at times. Like I had very low blood sugar but had eaten fine.
Difficult to concentrate etc. Made me really jittery.

Definitely the worst I'd felt through the whole thing. Worried how long will last now.

BeQuietBrenda · 17/01/2022 23:42

Hi, I tested positive last Tuesday and have been pretty unwell with it. All I can compare it to is actual flu (not a heavy cold, but real flu). However I've been up and down hourly - feeling almost fine one hour and then I'll again the next. I've had constant dizzyness until today, today is the first day I've been able to stay upright. My sleep pattern is all out of synch and I'm sat here feeling wired at 11.30pm, despite being up and gently doing some minor bits around the house through the day.

I did get a negative LFT earlier today so hoping for another tomorrow and then I shall be going out - don't care where, just out! Luckily I live nearby moorland so fresh air, even if its just a drive up there, is called for.

My main symptoms were :
Day 1 - headache and chills, slept most of day
Day 2-3 : aches, pains, fatigue, nausea
Day 4-5: aches, dizzy, fatigue, general unwell and couldn't support my body weight sitting up.
Day 6 (today) dizziness has eased unless I move too quickly, very upset tummy, slight heart palpitations earlier.

MummaL32 · 17/01/2022 23:43

I'm
Having the same with the light headed faint jittery like I've not eaten for days etc

The headache is killing me I wish it would go the pain in my nose and sinuses makes me want to cry it so painful

Your a week ahead of me praying it doesn't last long for you 🤞🏻 x

Feel like this isn't omicron possibly delta but can you be in the same
House and all have different variants as children are fine, makes no sense

MummaL32 · 17/01/2022 23:46

@BeQuietBrenda same day as me I hope your ok x

funkystars123 · 18/01/2022 10:24

Hi all

So good to hear I am not alone... it's the fact that I was fine after initial illness that is so strange.

I went to bed at 8pm last night... just about managed to work through the day but today still feel exhausted!

I am going to try to walk around the block later with the dog... I think I need to get some fresh air!

Day 14 now
Legs / arms still shaky. Light headed. Difficult to concentrate and just feel 'odd.'

Really glad I'm wfh today so don't have the journey.

I definitely feel worse than I was a few days ago and feel quite nervous about it.

Mamabear12 · 18/01/2022 13:23

I am on day 12 and still feel aches in my legs and fatigue. It is frustrating and makes me feel anxious. I just want to feel normal again. At least my kids all had no symptoms or barely anything. They are happy and back to school (They had it before me and I caught from them not knowing they had it). I have no energy and have a 2 year old at home to look after as well. She is napping now, so at least that is a positive.

MummaL32 · 18/01/2022 16:19

I wake up in the
Morning and feel like I've got a cold by mid afternoon 2 - 3 the head ache kicks in and my hands shake like a tremor anyone else had this? It's so frustrating and makes me feel like I don't have full control over my reactions or my hands are just not doing what they should be

Then the head ache lasts till I sleep it off that nights nothing I take helps at all

Lft myself today day 8 still positive 😩

HairyScaryMonster · 18/01/2022 21:42

I'm on day 9 and I can't go 3 hours without feeling like I need a nap. My 7yo has been home isolating and I literally cried yesterday because she wanted to bake and i.just.couldnt. had hour nap yesterday and 1.5 today and could have really done with another in the afternoon.

MummaL32 · 18/01/2022 21:47

God I feel your pain @HairyScaryMonster
