People really have had enough haven’t they?

I was in my local newsagent this morning and it was me, two women behind the counter and 7 other shoppers.

5 of us were quite huddled together whilst waiting to pay, so we were very close to the staff members behind the till too, and the other two people were still shopping.

Of the ten of us in the shop, which is quite a small newsagents I was the only one wearing a mask and nobody was even bothered that nobody else was. I mean, the shop assistants aren’t going to make an issue of it seeing as they don’t wear masks either.

I felt like such an idiot as I stood there wearing one.

I’m not threatened by Covid, I would love for things to go back to being mask-free, I only wear one because guidance says to rather than because I want to, but I was just so surprised that nobody else was wearing one too.

I felt so uncomfortable wearing one and I think if my hands weren’t full of food and things I probably would have taken mine off because I just felt silly.

It really has made me think that people have just had enough haven’t they?

I think the info coming out of Downing Street is not helping I.e. Party Central

One rule for us, one for them 😼😾😾😾🤨

What about lying down, will that help?
Only in a fridge and if you are called Boris.

I think to stay in the true spirit of Covid it should be 'sit the fuck down'

This is true. Can you imagine Johnson trying to introduce any new regulations now?

Is that not now the purpose of all these leaks?

Wow, seems I can't post links here any more?!

Can we just do the timewarp and be done with it all?

I had omicron over the festive period and it was not a nice bug - and I'm still very wiped out and short of breath easily now - but I have multiple risk factors including the big one we don't talk about of being very overweight, and me being a bit post-virally with something that knocked me flat is pretty much normal for me if I get a nasty bug going around.

Do I regret being as anti-restrictions and thinking we completely fucking overreacted and lost our sense of humanity after having a fair wallop of it and it lingering on??! Not one bit - if anything I'm MORE convinced we need to collectively just accept it as "a shitty virus doing the rounds" and start re-learning how to live again. Those who wish to hide at home in a mask disinfecting their shopping - knock yourselves out but it's YOU with the problem now, not those of us out and about living our lives.

I thought so before Christmas. Now I wonder if it might be aimed at getting him out full stop, as he likely wouldn't have been able to bring in more restrictions even before this latest revelation. I suppose this does make it completely certain.

Trouble is Borris is dangerous when cornered.

Last time ... oh my it's only just a month ago ... anyway, last time he was in a sticky media situation he dumped Plan B on us all as a way of diverting things.

In Australia everyone still needs to isolate for 7 days if a close contact no matter what your vaccination status. We are currently having a supply chain crisis because so many people are close contacts or positive and asymptomatic. It’s becoming ridiculous. It’s an artificially created crisis.

I’m so over it all. Everything being made ‘safe’ for us. Pretending I care at work and wearing a mask when I’m not at my desk. I just don’t give a fuck if I catch Covid anymore. I’ve been vaccinated three times (the one thing everyone should do) and it just feels like everyone has lost their collective mind.

I hate that.

You go somewhere which is meant to be fun and relaxing and are bombarded with neon yellow signs and patronising pre-recorded messages about how they are 'keeping us safe'. I'm a grown-up thanks. I can keep myself 'safe'.

The streets are littered with the filthy rags, everyday outside the school gates a trail of masks they’ve ripped off in relief. Poor Sea life next to us are wearing them round their necks. Not seen a road clean of used face masks walking to the shops, so gross. No mask bins anywhere? No recycling scheme? There’s not much benefit in masks when your trudging through them & polluting the planet.

@MNHQ can you un-hide my post please. Seems weird you would hide a letter from an Israeli doctor.
