And if you chose not to please don’t give COVID to my red zone working partner.

I’m CEV, I’m positive, I can have only caught it from him - and he works In a red zone where last week 98% of patients were not vaccinated

Sorry for the moan.

‘ In my circle, vaccinated people who are positive not social distancing, not sanitising, refusing to do a test with symptoms, going to work with COVID. ‘

Making an assumption based on the NHS reported data that majority of people in my area are double/triple vaxxed, it is the vaccinated who are out & about as fast moving vectors. The shops are crowded, social distance has gone, & the anti-bac gel by the shop door is unused. The streets are as busy as they used to be, & people moseying about as before.

Mickarooni · 10/01/2022 12:58

@FajitaBonita

CEV and key workers are the new vegans these days. 🙄

Hope you are better soon though.

Someone will come along and say they’re a vegan CEV key worker.
Pugroll · 10/01/2022 12:59

In my circle, vaccinated people who are positive not social distancing, not sanitising, refusing to do a test with symptoms, going to work with COVID.

Seems legit. Meanwhile here those who see testing and wearing a mask as pointless are the same ones who don't want to get the vaccine.

Good one, OP.

Also - can we please send back all the foreigners nicking our jobs and women?

User6397254 · 10/01/2022 13:00

YABU, your partner could have caught it anywhere, you are obviously not that ill or you wouldn't be on here moaning

Reliable data here that we can base our public health decisions on. If this is true, best not vaccinate anyone. In my circle, all the vaccinated people are social distancing and doing tests. That is pretty much useless information too.
Campfirewood · 10/01/2022 13:01

YANBU Op, of course, it would help health care staff if everyone was vaccinated. I feel for my friends who are working in critical care right now.

I think we are at the point where we have all given up enough in the name of supporting CEV and elderly.... those groups have had all their vaccinations now and have learned how to protect themselves through isolating/masks/SD etc

Many people have lost pay and got in debt for this. Mental health is deteriorating. The vaccinations have caused harm in some cases

How much more do you think the rest of the world should give?

ToManySnacks · 10/01/2022 13:02

Vaccinated will still catch and pass it on

The hope is that it will make them ‘less ill’ and hopefully stay out of hospital and not ‘put pressure’ on the NHS

How could you of caught it from your partner?
Surely your partner has been doing regular tests?

Notsandwiches · 10/01/2022 13:03

@CarrotVan

Well this thread is full of empathy and the milk of human kindness.

People who haven’t been vaccinated and have caught Covid are a large proportion of ICU and HDU patients and tend to be there longer that post surgical patients. This increases viral exposure for staff and other patients and causes surgical cancellations and delays because the beds and staff are occupied by unvaccinated Covid patients (or staff are isolating). It’s a mostly avoidable situation and it’s not at all unreasonable to be pissed off.

I’m sure there a lots of reasons people have to be unvaccinated and we can all place value judgements on those reasons but it doesn’t change the fact that this is a mostly avoidable situation with serious ramifications for lots of people.

I’m sorry you’re ill OP I hope it’s mild

If a vexed person is not up to date with their current booster then as far as the NHS are concerned they are unvaccinated. The vast majority of those in ICU are actually at least partially vaccinated. However, that fact doesnt support the drive to get everyone jabbed does it?
JanisMoplin · 10/01/2022 13:03

9 people have died of the vaccine in the UK, I think. Not thousands and thousands. Millions have died of Covid . Such rubbish!

nalabae · 10/01/2022 13:03

Shut up.

jollygreenpea · 10/01/2022 13:05

I would cite the data, but I doubt anyone is interested because you see, they know 3 people who are unvaxxed and fine. Public health decisions are not based on people you know

I didn't for one moment say that they were, I didn't dispute the numbers in ICU, or any other data.

I said that was my experience of covid, and I didn't say what my vaccination status was either, you've jumped to a conclusion.

It was just my personal example of not all unvaxxed end up in hospital.

chasingrain · 10/01/2022 13:05
@chasingrain I am not comparing Delhi to the UK, FFS! I am saying that data across the world, from every country, shows the unvaxxed occupying hospital beds. Posters on here have criticised the UK media for lying and British scientists as being in the pocket of Big Pharma. What about scientists and media from across the world? Are they too paid shills?
If a country only has 44/45% double vaccine rate then obviously there are going to a shit load of unvaccinated people occupying hospital beds.

The same with Australia - the post that a PP shared. Again doubly vaccinated uptake is low.

Obviously this reflects on admissions.

However the Uk has a high vaccine uptake ranging for 70-90% depending on age group.

I would think it was a very strange day in OPs partners hospital if nearly 100% of admissions where unvaccinated as statically going of age groups admitted - this is unlikely

ToManySnacks · 10/01/2022 13:05

Just saw your partner has got it

As long as your all 3x jabbed, you should both be ok

Hopefully nether of you are that ill and you can enjoy a couple of days together without thinking about work

SarahBop · 10/01/2022 13:06

@Laiste

It's not anybodies business what other people do with/to their own bodies.

Not the business of the nosey neighbour. Not the business of someone waiting to go into hospital.

If you start going down the route of ''it's my business because it affects ME'' then every choice YOU make then also becomes everyone's business too.

You chose to smoke so you don't deserve to go ahead of me in the NHS queue.

But you chose to go skiing so you don't deserve to go ahead of anyone either.

I'm ''blameless'' so i deserve to go first. I vote me first. It's my business who's in hospital and why.

Is this really how some people want to live?

Apparently so.

It seems to me that it's some of the vaccinated which are the most spiteful, finger pointing, close minded types spouting things like "The unvaccinated shouldn't expect NHS treatment" [whilst chomping on their bacon sarnie and puffing a fag, half joking, I am not stereotyping honestly]

I am just shocked/sad how this pandemic has shown which of us are close-minded bigots, and which of us are supportive of equality/diversity and human rights...

And to the lovely person who called OP a drama queen... CEV people were told that they would undoubtedly be killed by this virus, so being frustrated and worried about catching it is entirely reasonable.

I was not the poster who said that but things have moved on. UK now has oral antivirals approved for use by people at additional risk of severe Covid if they test positive. There are a range of IV antivirals also that can be used for at risk groups. These things have been approved at this point specifically for at-risk people so why not use them if you fit this bucket rather than spitting the dummy? Things have to get back to normal at some point, this is not going away, these are things now available to at-risk patients who test positive to enable everyone to move on.

GirlInACountrySong · 10/01/2022 13:08

Oh please! Who told CeV people THEY WOULD BE KILLED by the virus??

ravenmum · 10/01/2022 13:09

There is no indication whatsoever that OP is in the UK.

JanisMoplin · 10/01/2022 13:09

@nalabae

Shut up.
Of course not all unvaxxed end up in hospital. DS didn't. I fail to see the point of us all giving our experiences with covid, that's all.
UnconditionalSurrender · 10/01/2022 13:09

You're right OP. I have serious doubts that these people on the threads who start I'm vaccinated but then spew out the anti vax pish are vaccinated at all.

JanisMoplin · 10/01/2022 13:09

Oops sorry wrong quote. But I will leave it. No point.
