And if you chose not to please don’t give COVID to my red zone working partner.

I’m CEV, I’m positive, I can have only caught it from him - and he works In a red zone where last week 98% of patients were not vaccinated

Sorry for the moan.

OP posts:
Bouncer500 · 10/01/2022 12:37

Yabu and irritating and egocentric.

Rosscameasdoody · 10/01/2022 12:39

What are you worried about if you're vaccinated and boostered then..?

The OP is worried because she’s CEV. I’m also CEV, vaccinated and boostered. Despite this caught Covid and was very ill. There are some very unkind responses on here - there’s even one which pokes fun at CEV and key workers FFS !! The OP’s situation is a perfect example of why vaccination is important - her partner works in a high risk area and because there’s contact with unvaccinated people, the risk of passing it on is higher, and being CEV puts her at greater risk. It’s not rocket science - unless there’s a good reason, remaining unvaccinated is selfish.

Yes!!! That is how a society works.

If the partners red zone is an ICU then he is doing exactly that... putting himself and his family at risk for the benefit of others!

Can you seriously not see the irony of your statement??

And to the lovely person who called OP a drama queen... CEV people were told that they would undoubtedly be killed by this virus, so being frustrated and worried about catching it is entirely reasonable.

JanisMoplin · 10/01/2022 12:39

I am originaly from India. There is now data coming in that all the people occupying hospital beds in Mumbai and Delhi are unvaxxed. A lot of people on here complain that UK scientists and media are in Boris's pockets. What is your argument for data coming in from across the world?

I would cite the data, but I doubt anyone is interested because you see, they know 3 people who are unvaxxed and fine. Public health decisions are not based on people you know.

doublemonkey · 10/01/2022 12:41

@Sugarplumfairy65 What "pathway" do you think the CEV should take

Maybe they should all be on prophylactic Ivermectin.

...........

Even the most fervent ivermectin pushers have quietly moved onto other peddling "miracle" drugs.

There is no robust evidence it's effective in preventing or treating COVID.

Mickarooni · 10/01/2022 12:44

@BlancheB

"CEV" modelling in the UK at least includes people over a certain BMI (as well as those with serious illnesses) so it's no wonder everyone is claiming to be "CEV" these days hmm”

Assume you mean clinically vulnerable, clinically extremely vulnerable are a different group! BMI isn’t a factor. But yeah, us sick people are just fat really! Wink

canigooutyet · 10/01/2022 12:45

What I always wonder when I hear about the unvaccinated in itu's etc, is how many of them are the people who cannot have it. Or have had a serious reaction to the first and decided not to continue with any of the other brands so are classed as unvaccinated.

Headlines wouldn't be the same would they - 90% of unvaccinated in hospital, and 87% are medically exempt.

chasingrain · 10/01/2022 12:46

I am not surprised considering only 44% of people are double vaccinated in Delhi.

You cannot compare Deli to Uk ffs.

pussycatunpickingcrossesagain · 10/01/2022 12:47

@Butteryflakycrust83

You are only going to get abuse here OP but just wanted to say I am so sorry that you have caught it - the point is your husband has been exposed because people have been pig bloody headed.
^This with bells on.

Sorry you've caught it OP after being so cautious.

You can't argue with stupid.

RobotValkyrie · 10/01/2022 12:48

I feel sorry for OP (being CEV is a horrible situation)

But other people (starting from her partner) doing daily tests and self-isolating if positive would be a much more fool-proof way of preventing her getting infected, than vaccination.
I assume her partner is fully jabbed, yet he still caught COVID and infected her...

The bigger picture is also that CEV people living with people at high risk of catching the virus is not a great arrangement.
If it was my family, I'd personally seriously consider a career change, or whether the relationship is viable (yes, it's shit)

Icantstopeatinglol · 10/01/2022 12:49

I'm CV and have had covid and have had my three jabs so far but I would never want anyone to do something they don't want to if they don't feel safe doing it. It's my life and it's their life. One doesn't trump the other. We're into the third year of this now and it's not going anywhere for a while and we have to start living our lives.
Sorry you've tested positive and hope you feel better soon.

PinkSparklyPussyCat · 10/01/2022 12:49

@Sunset999

Well when someone says get your fucking vaccine what do they expect??
I'm presuming it's this years equivalent to 'stay the fuck at home'.

I have no sympathy with antivaxxers and Covid deniers. OP is NBU.

Not everyone who is unvaxxed is an antivaxxer or Covid denier. I've had 3 vaccines but I don't know whether I'll get another booster. That doesn't make me an anti vaxxer.

MarshaBradyo · 10/01/2022 12:51

You are only going to get abuse here OP

Swearing at people will only get their backs up and response in kind, it’s obvious the tone will be similar

I’m vaccinated but think it’s not right way to go

Cheesywhine · 10/01/2022 12:52

Triple vaccinated and isolating with covid.

JanisMoplin · 10/01/2022 12:52

@chasingrain I am not comparing Delhi to the UK, FFS! I am saying that data across the world, from every country, shows the unvaxxed occupying hospital beds. Posters on here have criticised the UK media for lying and British scientists as being in the pocket of Big Pharma. What about scientists and media from across the world? Are they too paid shills?

GETTINGLIKEMYMOTHER · 10/01/2022 12:52

All 8 triple jabbed adults in our extended family group (plus 3 unvaxxed small children) had tested positive by the evening of 28th Dec. And all of us had negative LFTs right before meeting up on the 24th.

Only one adult has had anything but the mildest of symptoms though and the sole CEV one, in his 70s, only had slight cold symptoms.

I do hope you’ll be OK OP, and I don’t blame you for having a rant. IMO people who choose not to be vaccinated are selfish and stupid. Quite apart from anything else, they are more likely to end up in hospital and take up beds needed by people with other serious illnesses, or who need urgent operations.

canigooutyet · 10/01/2022 12:53

Red zones are also used in hospitals in London, not just Australia.
When I end up in A&E I'm always tested before I can go into a Green/Red zone. The hospital still has the Green/Red zones clearly marked.

WindyState · 10/01/2022 12:54

@HoardingSamphireSaurus

You see OP, the point you are missing is that whilst it is fine for anyone to make a choice about what to, or not to, put in their body, it is NEVER EVER EVER fine for ANYONE to be oissed off att he somewhat obvious repercussions of that action/inaction.

Mainly because the vaguaries of transmission/efficacy of vaccines is only grist for the mill one way: to prove that having the vaccine is not a guarantee.

It can never, ever be used to prove that it is measurably better than not having a vaccine for that vast majority of individuals.

So stop your CEV complaining, be glad your OH has even got a job because, because and get on with your life and leave others to live theirs without you trying to guilt trip them into summink summink

I too hope that you only have a mild case and that your OH does too. Flowers

I think it's perfectly fine to be pissed off at people who are knowingly placing themselves and others at risk by remaining unvaccinated.

These people are more than happy to accept the easing of restrictions that have come with the grown-ups getting vaccinated but not willing to do it themselves. That's pretty fucking selfish.

frazzledali · 10/01/2022 12:55

Fucking moaners and misinformation merchants out in force today, I see.

SarahBop · 10/01/2022 12:56

@Urthie

I’m vaccinated, we have been super careful - he’s working with unvaccinated people, he’s got it, I’ve now got it …

Vaccines don’t stop the spread, but they do have a good chance of you not ending up in ITU

But you are vaccinated, so why are you still scared of the virus?..Surely you're confident the vaccine will protect you?

In MOST people, it is a mild illness, like a cold...the fear needs to stop.

Getyourjinglebellsinarow · 10/01/2022 12:56

You're vaccinated but you have covid. So your point is bull, you could just as well have caught it off a vaccinated person than an unvaccinated.

Pugroll · 10/01/2022 12:56

I'm sure many people who have previously refused the Jab will have been swayed by your post.

Rosscameasdoody · 10/01/2022 12:56

@canigooutyet

So neither of you go into any shop? Don't go and full up the car/use public transport? Have children of school age? Sit with colleagues during breaks? Attend staff meetings? Don't attend any medical appointments? Don't socialise with friends/family?

Do you start threads saying get a fucking vaccination when he brings home other viruses? Not like CV is the only thing you can pick up from hospitals that can be fatal to the vulnerable.

I’m CEV and have been told I’m not making sufficient antibodies for protection. so I can answer ‘yes’ to all of the above - haven’t been out since the beginning of last year, except for essential doctor’s/hospital appointments etc.
lemmein · 10/01/2022 12:56

@FajitaBonita

CEV and key workers are the new vegans these days. 🙄

Hope you are better soon though.

100% agree with this - it's so fucking boring!
