Track and trace just called as my son had positive lft then pcr on 3rd. I tested positive on 27.12,I've not had texts and emails from track and trace saying I've been identified as a contact of a positive case and so I need to isolate for 10 days,that isn't right is it? If he likely caught it from me anyway,my isolation is due to end on 6th,his day 10 is 13th

If you're still isolating as a positive case then your isolation ends after the original 10 days and doesnt get extended by your ds testing positive within that 10 day period

So I ignore track and trace and i can leave the house after my 10 days,I'm desperate to get out even to just walk the dog

I'd ignore them if they're giving incorrect info.
Did you give them your details when you tested positive?

Are you in England where close contacts wouldn't need to isolate if vaccinated?

It's not an unreasonable assumption given the vast majority of adults in the UK are double jabbed, if not boosted.

I just assumed as most people are vaccinated.

You are lucky you are still within your own isolation period as if you had finished your 10 days and then he tested positive then you'd need to isolate again

P.s. in Scotland household contacts have to isolate for 10 days regardless of vaccination status

I'm not asking about the app but whether you gave details to test and trace when you tested positive (the app is not T&T)

I’m having the exact same issue right now.
I tested positive 27th December, out of isolation tomorrow 6th January.
Partner tested positive 29th December and out of isolation 8th January.

However he only received his results a few days ago. As a result I was texted by Test&Protect (Scotland) saying I had to isolate until the 13th January.

Surely this can’t be right if my partner is out of isolation on the 8th? Just been on the phone to my work who say that yes I do have to continue isolating. I don’t understand at all!

You go by your own 10 day isolation period and he completes his. Your isolation isn't extended by his positive test as he tested positive while you were isolating.

Track and trace havent contacted me about my positive result,just about my sons,also the majority of people I know qrent double jabbed so your assumption about my vaccination status and people within my immediate community aren't the same as yours it seems

Must be the people you mix with as the majority of people I know are at least double vaccinated if not triple. I gather you are a big group of anti-vaxxers then

70.6% of the UK population is double vaccinated. Not at all unusual to assume you wouldn’t be in the minority.

I don't see any poster assuming you're vaccinated, merely asking if you are as the rules are different. I only know 2 people who aren't vaccinated, so you're definitely in the minority. I think you just need to be aware that you could end up isolating several times over the next few weeks as this latest variant rips through if you keep coming into contact with positive cases.

Half of those people are children, my stat assumes that you and your friends are adults. Apologies if that was another incorrect assumption.

It is a large number but a small proportion when making a basic assumption which I think it what the original issue was.

Really hope you stay well OP. Working in a school and not being fully vaccinated is risky at best.
