Track and trace just called as my son had positive lft then pcr on 3rd. I tested positive on 27.12,I've not had texts and emails from track and trace saying I've been identified as a contact of a positive case and so I need to isolate for 10 days, that isn't right is it? If he likely caught it from me anyway,my isolation is due to end on 6th,his day 10 is 13th

Track & trace is a Royal Mail service Grin

Badassbreastfeeder85 · 05/01/2022 17:18

@CrocodilesCry I don't have the yearly flu jab (neither does my son)and I've never had flu,I am not vulnerable, reasonably young and healthy so I don't feel the need to have the flu jab any more than I felt the need to have the coronavirus jab, each to their own,and I was working full time in a school during the entire pandemic and I've only ended up with covid during a Christmas break 2 years in so I've not done too badly

Did you actually want advice or just to go on about being unvaccinated? I'm not sure what your drama is here

BiniorellaSun · 05/01/2022 17:31

I would always assume people are vaccinated because I always assume they aren’t stupid until proven otherwise.
You have now proved otherwise though.

😂😂
Badassbreastfeeder85 · 05/01/2022 18:59

@BiniorellaSun how dare you call me stupid, like how actually dare you, I am fully within my rights not to have vaccinations I don't want, such as the flu vaccine doesn't make me stupid

OP posts:
Badassbreastfeeder85 · 05/01/2022 19:00

@Theunamedcat it's not me that keeps banging on about vaccinations, nothing to do with my original post

OP posts:
BiniorellaSun · 05/01/2022 19:07

😂 I dare because there’s a pandemic and the vaccines protect you and those around you. You would have to be stupid to refuse to have them.
It’s nothing to do with your grammar and punctuation, don’t worry.

Yes I always have the flu jab.
The vaccines stop you getting very ill and burdening the NHS. They reduce the risk of long covid. They are what sensible, intelligent people have developed to help the situation. They are what sensible, intelligent people have because the benefits vastly outweigh the risks.
Anyway you can never change the health beliefs of crazy, stupid people so I will leave this here.

nitsandwormsdodger · 05/01/2022 19:18

You don’t seem to understand vaccinations, they aren’t given to prevent you getting it but to prevent serious illness or death if you get it

Exactly what I was thinking.
Badassbreastfeeder85 · 05/01/2022 19:20

Like i say my vaccinated friends suffered more with covid then I have, vaccines dont stop u getting it or spreading it,they were also poorly after having the vaccines, seems very unnecessary when it doesn't stop u getting or spreading the illness its meant to protect against,I have not been poorly from covid so I fail to see the benefit it would have given me

OP posts:
Badassbreastfeeder85 · 05/01/2022 19:22

Well I am very surprised flu is still killing people when the hero that is @BiniorellaSun has the flu vaccine, maybe we should commentate a statue to you

OP posts:
Badassbreastfeeder85 · 05/01/2022 19:23

And I don't appreciate being called crazy or stupid for not having a vaccine,we still have freedom of choice, for the moment

OP posts:
Waxonwaxoff0 · 05/01/2022 19:28

We do have freedom of choice, but the point of getting the vaccine is to reduce the severity of the disease, not to stop people from getting it. You seem to be struggling to understand that.

If vaccines were unnecessary then why are there vastly less people in hospital than there were this time last year?

Cookerhood · 05/01/2022 19:33

But in many cases they do stop you getting it, and if you don't get it you can't spread it. If you want anecdata, DD spent a week sharing a bed with someone with Covid & didn't catch it. She is triple vaccinated. You only have to look at the stats for severe disease & death to see the effects of vaccines. Of course if everyone exercised their right not to get vaccinated we would have thousands of daily deaths at the moment.
Badassbreastfeeder85 · 05/01/2022 19:33

Track and trace have again contacted me telling me I have to isolate until the 13th,which is 10 days since my son tested positive, no where does it say I don't need to isolate if I'm already isolating,it's not very clear at all

OP posts:
Cookerhood · 05/01/2022 19:36

If that's what they've told you you'd better do it then.

dementedpixie · 05/01/2022 19:42

Was your positive result recorded? Sounds like they don't realise you were already isolating

Badassbreastfeeder85 · 05/01/2022 19:44

Yes and I've had my pcr and I told them on the phone when they asked where they thought he'd got it from

OP posts:
liveforsummer · 05/01/2022 19:47

Yes ignore test and trace the texts are generic and don't link up with other members of the household. They were texting dd2 telling her to isolate as a contact of Dd1 when she'd passed it on to her in the first place

Badassbreastfeeder85 · 05/01/2022 19:53

It's saying I can be fined if I don't isolate until 13th,but my isolation ends on the 6th,I mean I have no one to look after my son anyway but at least from midnight tomorrow I can walk the dog or nip into shops for essentials

OP posts:
BarefootHippieChick · 05/01/2022 20:17

Have you tried ringing 119 and explaining and see what they say?

Badassbreastfeeder85 · 05/01/2022 20:33

I'll try 119 tomorrow
