Could this be any more selfish?

Father has tested positive on LFT. He does a hobby which involves lots of other people (3 days a week and 60 people). It is outside, but does involve close contact. He's done this hobby twice since he's found out he's positive.

He's been going about as usual with symptoms. He is not isolating (in fact went to his second home - over 100 miles away) last weekend, knowing full well that he was positive. He's been going in to shops, meeting up with people etc.

He has only told DM that he's positive. I'm not supposed to know.

I'm appalled. He's a selfish narcissistic bastard and it doesn't surprise me, but I'm not sure that I can have a decent relationship with him now that I know the extent of his selfishness.

Boris had three alpha variant. That appeared to have a bigger effect on seemingly healthy people, although I'm sure he fit into the quite overweight category so that was his vulnerability.

Omicron seems to be a cold for most healthy vaccinated people. The stats confirm this otherwise there would be hundreds of thousands of people in hospital right now.

Did you also see on the news yesterday that there is speculation that isolation periods could be cut to 5 days? This usually happens before an announcement. Like I previously said we aren't far off having no more tests or isolating with covid.

I am so glad that you understand what I am trying to say. I hope that I am speaking on behalf of many other CEV people, as well as myself, when saying that we have never wanted the Country to be shut down on our behalf, and don't believe that it was. We are all first and foremost members of the general population, and want and need all the same things as every other reasonable person. I find it sad that people like worriedandannoyed cannot understand this, and that we (CEV sufferers) expect to take responsibility for ourselves, and just ask others that if, once all the regulations regarding Covid start being withdrawn, they notice some of us still in masks, and maybe trying to not get too close to other people, that they try and give us some space, or to ask us if we can move a bit if we are hogging the cream cake isle for too long ☺

Thanks for your reply. I'm sorry to hear of your experiences in a supermarket that makes it difficult for you to be able to even shop at the moment. I realise this isn't just inconvenient but has an effect on your wellbeing.

Can we also please consider the well-being of many other groups of people in relation to any future restrictions. I don't know a single person who hasn't been affected in the last two years. Teenagers self harming, including massively increased suicide rates. Missed education. Vulnerable children who have been trapped at home. Partners in domestic abuse situations who have been trapped in awful situations. Single parents trying to work and home school with no support network. Those already living in poverty with even more reduced income.

There are many many people who have given up their freedom for the CEV, it isn't that they are tired of it. It's that they can't take any more unless it is absolutely necessary [/quote]
I’m a lot more worried that our nhs is being fucked over by those who refuse to acknowledge we still have a pandemic. Those who are keen to just let the nhs get on with it.

We aren’t locked down now and we are in a situation where the nhs are having to ration care. All because people have “had enough”. You can’t get “fed up” of a virus and expect that to solve matters ffs.

Just glanced at page 1 of thread, its interesting, obviously you shouldn't be going out if you are positive but what about everyone walking round asymptomatic and not bothering to test also?
