Have you tried ringing 119 @covidwoes ?

Covidwoes · 29/12/2021 08:48

It says to not ring the contact centre as you can't book through them @AnyFucker. Annoying!

AnyFucker · 29/12/2021 08:51

I know. I need a test too. I just wondered if you had tried calling the NHS line. My ds got a test on Christmas Day, now there are none to be had.

twinkletoesimnot · 29/12/2021 09:24

None to be had at all anywhere.
My daughter's bf needs a PCR - positive LF and just no availability.
Is it really just demand or are the testing sites shut?

Cookerhood · 29/12/2021 09:36

Our postal one came over night after ordering on boxing day, so best to do that. We then had results within 24 hours of posting.

twinkletoesimnot · 29/12/2021 09:37

There are no postal ones available either

Hmmph · 29/12/2021 10:01

This is so shocking. No PCR tests available for walk ins, drive ins or home testing INCLUDING for essential workers.
And no LFTs available either.

One way to make the numbers go down I suppose...

twinkletoesimnot · 29/12/2021 10:24

Agree @Hmmph that would explain it.... especially when tests are available in Scotland and Wales ...

Cookerhood · 29/12/2021 10:40

It's very shocking. Keep trying to though.

MrsPsmalls · 29/12/2021 11:00

This terrible - nothing available for even NHS workers at all, in England!

MrsPsmalls · 29/12/2021 11:01

Been trying on and off since midnight

Bordois · 29/12/2021 11:02

Is this going to be a daily occurance?

Appointments get booked up quickly so check again later.

AshLane · 29/12/2021 11:08

And just wait till schools return....

I waited 6 days for a postal PCR result,, after the first test was lost the week before.

Covidwoes · 29/12/2021 12:21

Just got one! It's for tomorrow as none available today, but better than none at all!

friedeggandsauce · 29/12/2021 12:47

@Hmmph I ordered LFT this morning

EasterIssland · 29/12/2021 13:11

Appointments available now

AnnaSW1 · 29/12/2021 13:14

We've ordered postal ones throughout and they have always arrived the next day. It's no biggie.

Bordois · 29/12/2021 13:18

@EasterIssland

Appointments available now
See you same time tomorrow? 😆
PurpleDaisies · 29/12/2021 13:19

Not any more…

thedarkling · 29/12/2021 13:32

Also been trying to book since 7am, partner has had it since 23rd and ds now had symptoms. Thought I'd got lucky but once I clicked through to the end it still said nothing available to book. Did manage to order a postal test this morning luckily but me as we'll have to isolate him longer until we get results. I really am beginning to think the constant testing is becoming slightly pointless, it seems like practically everyone has it and if tests aren't available people will be making a choice between isolating on the chance of having it or just going about their business.

EasterIssland · 29/12/2021 13:33

@Bordois I’ll keep refreshing f5 (or checking Twitter) and I’ll let you know :)

Quisto · 29/12/2021 15:30

My result of postal PCR was texted at 2pm. So 23hr turn around. It's negative despite having runny nose, sneezing, headache and painful chest and being a close contact of positive PCR tests son over the last week.

EasterIssland · 29/12/2021 15:39

Just read on Twitter there is now availability again

frenchiemummy92 · 29/12/2021 20:19

I just got my results in about 24 hours. Negative thank god but if this is just a cold it's completely took me out!! Days in bed, bad neck and ear pain. Now feel extremely weak and tired.

kackle · 29/12/2021 20:23

I am trying to book pcr. Nothing at all in North West. Its a farce
