In contact on Friday to 2 people who have tested positive yesterday on LFT. I booked a PCR to be careful yesterday at 2.30pm. Spending Christmas with elderly relatives.

How long from PCR to getting the results was it for you?

So far lft negative where yet other 2 had big fat positives.

Does it taken longer if positive? I had one at 9am yesterday, mum 12am. She wa s get I’ve on LFT but I was positive. She’s had her test back a couple of hours nothing for me so far. Do they check which strain you’ve had etc therefore mines longer?

mumof1879 · 24/12/2021 13:37

31 hours now in SE London 🙁

HELPNEEDHELP12398765 · 24/12/2021 14:07

24 hours so far in Essex, I'm not holding out much hope of getting the result by Christmas day 🙁

Natsukine · 24/12/2021 20:38

Finally come through after 79 hours!

Mylittlesecret10021 · 24/12/2021 21:32

32 hours for me and a positive result which I expected. North West. For my mum it was around 19-20 for a negative result.

Notonthestairs · 24/12/2021 21:36

I was looking for your result! We are at 78 hours. Fingers crossed we get ours soon.

Going by posters on here across the threads it seems a common theme that positives come back quicker, but no idea if that's accurate or just a coincidence.

Same, my results have always been back within 24 hours before. I'm at 40 hours and counting now

I posted ds pcr off Thursday. They havent done it yet as we are getting reminder emails to get it done! It may have missed the post Thursday though oh well.

Fferny1 · 25/12/2021 15:14

Dd1 did a PCR in Bristol last Monday and still hasn't received the result. She's a Uni student.

TurdCrapley · 25/12/2021 17:15

Got my son's test back at 11am so it was 59 hours. Still haven't gone for Christmas with DH's family though cause DS has a cough so they don't want to catch it🤷‍♀️💔

IdontPracticeSanteria · 25/12/2021 18:22

Just got mine back two hours ago, positive.

Around 30 hours turnaround, north west.

covetingthepreciousthings · 25/12/2021 19:31

Upto about 56 hours here now with no results (drive thru) Sad
Last few in recent months have been anywhere between 10-25 hours, so it's really frustrating it's taking this long again now.

Notonthestairs · 25/12/2021 20:24

Postal results - arrived at 98 hours. 1 negative & 1 positive.

RunningKatie · 25/12/2021 20:45

Still waiting here, test was 55 hours ago now.

Nomorecoco · 25/12/2021 20:46

I'm at 83 hours now and still waiting, drive through. Had to cancel my booster and some restaurant plans so hope it is positive now so its not been for nothing.

RunAwayNow · 25/12/2021 21:33

Mine took 38 hours in end end, Cheshire.

RidingMyBike · 26/12/2021 09:14

44 hours here. Tested 10.30am on Christmas Eve. Result back 6.25am Boxing Day.

I thought that was quite impressive given it was the Xmas period. Felt sorry for the people processing results over Xmas!

HELPNEEDHELP12398765 · 26/12/2021 17:03

Still waiting at 73 hours now

Nomorecoco · 26/12/2021 17:29

103 hours! Can anyone beat it?

theneverendinglaundry · 26/12/2021 17:34

We received our postal PCRs at 12:10pm on Christmas Eve. The last collection was at 12 that day, so we didn't do the tests and post them back until 10am this morning.... no point as you need to post them as soon as you've done them. let's see how long it takes!

DelurkingAJ · 26/12/2021 17:35

Took DS1 to Gatwick drive thru at 2pm on Friday and had the negative result by 10am Saturday (hurray!). Would recommend Gatwick if you’re in the South East…they seem to have a lab on site.

I'm pretty sure royal mails last collections were midday on Christmas Eve, so you should be okay.
Guacamole001 · 26/12/2021 17:46

Thanks neverending we got a negative result about 48 hours after I posted it off. I was surprised it was negative to be honest too.
