In contact on Friday to 2 people who have tested positive yesterday on LFT. I booked a PCR to be careful yesterday at 2.30pm. Spending Christmas with elderly relatives.

How long from PCR to getting the results was it for you?

So far lft negative where yet other 2 had big fat positives.

I did a postal kit Monday and posted early afternoon and still no result

Live in London

44 hours and counting here. I would be worried that it was lost, but DH and I both did one and neither of them have come through. Supposed to be visiting very vulnerable family at 2pm and we had hoped to get the results before then!

(obviously, we will be doing LFTs too and appreciate we could have picked it up in the past two days...)
WeatherwaxOn · 23/12/2021 08:48

Last time we did one (requested by school to be able to return, but following a negative LFT) it took 28 hours.

Notonthestairs · 23/12/2021 08:48

40 hours. Postal test.

Ohnowhy2 · 23/12/2021 09:46

I meant to say it's 40 hours (now 41!) and no results as yet.

Notonthestairs · 23/12/2021 10:03

Your parents will be very happy you are negative Op.

AshLane · 23/12/2021 10:23

@AshLane

I've posted about this before now.

I've given up!

First test Monday 13th and posted. No result sent. An hour on the phone on Saturday. Only resolution from call operator, who didn't know how to use the bar code, was to re- test.

Received and resent Monday 20th - still waiting....

Already missed one DC who was staying before Christmas.

I've had to cancel my Christmas with family as I couldn't leave them any longer without them being able to make a back up plan.

So frustrating and so sad. ☹️

Still waiting. Email this morning reminding me that I've NOT returned my second test....🤬
Natsukine · 23/12/2021 20:14

56 hours and counting now for us, I reckon they’ve been lost.

Ohnowhy2 · 23/12/2021 22:23

@Notonthestairs you would think. I am not going home as my 2 contacts extended family are now positive. It’s 12 people in total. My parents are cv and I am a bit worried I might turn positive. I wouid feel safer after 7 days.

It took 7 days from my friend to test positive after being exposed.

Mine yesterday took under 18 hours and another earlier in the week just 12. Done at testing centre.,

Notonthestairs · 24/12/2021 00:06

We've had to cancel. We needed to give the hosts an idea what they should plan for. My Dad has cancer & has a treatment plan that starts next week.

DS (13) has a hacking cough, fatigue and sore throat. He went to a small party Friday - 5/10 now positive. Cinema Saturday 2/5 positive. He's had such a limited social life for months - all online stuff with his friends- I didn't begrudge him a couple of small events.

We posted tests 3pm Tuesday. No results as yet.

Natsukine · 24/12/2021 08:12

68 hours here, clearly they have both been lost!

Gaagaa · 24/12/2021 09:22

Got tested Tuesday am, north west, drive through, no result yet- 72 hours, rang helpline and auto message says they won't chase for 96 hours. Food tasting off, and headache and fatigue... lft each day negative so far.... who knows?? Good luck all

Guacamole001 · 24/12/2021 11:38

Dont they let you know when the test arrives?

Notonthestairs · 24/12/2021 11:46

I was wondering how you know whether a test has arrived.

TurdCrapley · 24/12/2021 11:47

My son's test arrived at the lab at 11:30pm on Wednesday, still waiting. Desperately hoping it comes back negative by tomorrow morning so we can go to my in lawsSad

Notonthestairs · 24/12/2021 11:54

How do you know the test has arrived?
I posted ours Tuesday- I assume collected by 5 and I've heard nothing as yet.

TurdCrapley · 24/12/2021 12:04

There's a tracking number on the front of the package.

PCR turn around where you live?

Grapesoda7 · 24/12/2021 12:16

My son did one last Friday morning, we got the results back late Tuesday evening.

IdontPracticeSanteria · 24/12/2021 12:21

I've just had to do one this morning. Blackpool.
Bloody typical ffs looks like Xmas might be cancelled for me.

Witchymcwitch · 24/12/2021 12:55

If testing today at a walk in centre, am I likely to get results tomorrow?
Didn’t know if the labs would be open tomorrow….I’m assuming not.

Notonthestairs · 24/12/2021 13:06

@TurdCrapley Ah! I didn't take a photo of the box. Damn. I'll know for next time. Thanks for explaining.
