There's the headlines for tomorrow.

Plan your Christmas now. No restrictions.

@Sunshinegirl82 but aren't we a bit early to be feeling the mechanical ventilation position is clear?

We are currently at the 'rising hospitalisation' phase.

So what does your chart show that is useful just now?

rrhuth · 21/12/2021 21:25

@Sunshinegirl82

And I'm not deciding everything is ok, I said it could well change. However, as things stand I think it's the correct decision not to increase restrictions now.
Well, it is a gamble, I am not much of a gambler.

I am interested in the NL decision.

3 weeks of rising cases in London and no indication as yet of rising numbers in MV beds, is a positive sign. Is it completely definitive, no, but, on balance, I think it was the right call for right now.

rrhuth · 21/12/2021 21:34

@Sunshinegirl82

Hospitalisations lag cases, then ICU/ventilation lags hospitalisations - it is just a bit early I think. This is presumably the gamble the PM is taking too.

I hope you are right of course.

Goodnight Boris's back bencher. Smile
Tealightsandd · 21/12/2021 21:54

You're wrong btw.

MarshaBradyo · 21/12/2021 21:55

I’m not sure anyone can be certain right now

Even SAGE Farrar says uncertainty in data until next few days

rrhuth · 21/12/2021 21:59

Uncertainty in the data does not mean Farrar has no hunch.

MarshaBradyo · 21/12/2021 22:01

He said it was uncertain and data in next 24 to 36 hours was key.

Very different tone. First SAGE person to say this wait for data was understandable.

Sunshinegirl82 · 21/12/2021 22:02

@Tealightsandd

In what way? I'm wrong that my opinion is that it's the right call?
Sunshinegirl82 · 21/12/2021 22:03

Oh and feel free to AS me for my various comments on Boris throughout the years...

rrhuth · 21/12/2021 22:08

Not that it matters much but didn't Farrar quit SAGE a couple of months ago?

rrhuth · 21/12/2021 22:09

He said it was uncertain and data in next 24 to 36 hours was key.

Johnson has ruled it out before getting this key data then!

WhatsitWiggle · 21/12/2021 22:09

I'm not seeing my family until the 27th, so I'm hoping there's no sudden nasty announcements on Christmas Eve. To be honest, even if there were, I'm tempted to say fuck it and meet up anyway as I'm so sick of doing everything by the book and it mean missing out on seeing the people I love.

TooBigForMyBoots · 21/12/2021 22:09

The only thing Boris ever saves is his own skin.Xmas Hmm

1WeekTillChristmas · 21/12/2021 22:10

He doesnt care about any of us,
You know that right?

MarshaBradyo · 21/12/2021 22:11

Yep and critical it seems so not one to agree with gov take for sake of it

At Wellcome Trust now

rrhuth · 21/12/2021 22:21

What Farrar said suggests he will now (in his head if not out loud) disagree with Johnson's course. Farrar said:
"Amid such uncertainty & with some evidence of behaviour change that may help flatten or reduce transmission in the lead up to Christmas it is reasonable to wait 24-48 hours for more data to confirm trends but if they go in the wrong direction crucial to act immediately." - Johnson has today ruled out acting immediately, which seems typically lumpen from our PM.

MarshaBradyo · 21/12/2021 22:23

Weird he said 48 to 36 on R4 which is very close to Christmas Day.

Would you cancel celebrations then the day before?

Are you seeing others?

MarshaBradyo · 21/12/2021 22:25

I mean you know other way round..

Anyway how close to Christmas would you cancel and do you have plans?

Unsure33 · 21/12/2021 22:43

@peepholepringle

Exactly. This was a very nasty post . Some people just can’t help their disgusting little minds.

StarCat2020 · 22/12/2021 01:07

Good job I can work from home and get paid in full, but a £1500 a month drop in our joint salary is going to fucking burn. How in the name of FUCK are people meant to survive on a cunty amount like £400 a month?
Personal allowance oon C is around £325 for a month and you still hav to attend JCP to prove you are doing enougn to get a job.

Sanctions are being given often for minor things.

Joke is in spite of news reports of many vacancies, there really aren't.

it is a fucking joke.
