There's the headlines for tomorrow.

Plan your Christmas now. No restrictions.

OP posts:
Rosieparkerss · 21/12/2021 18:33

Boris saves his position (for now).

MarshaBradyo · 21/12/2021 18:34

Tea will you be celebrating Christmas with others?

Titsywoo · 21/12/2021 18:34

Not for my family as DH and I just tested positive Sad - glad my parents business can stay open though!

Tealightsandd · 21/12/2021 18:36

Just my household Marsha

I wish it was different, but I agree with Tedros - that it's better to celebrate later than celebrate now and grieve later.

That's up to you but others might have a different take.
Maddywencelas · 21/12/2021 18:38

Boris saves Christmas except for the hundreds of thousands isolating with it or who run businesses forced to shut through illness.

Both my kids have yesterday 😢
CremeEggThief · 21/12/2021 18:39

Obviously a sarcastic thread title. Right?Confused

Tealightsandd · 21/12/2021 18:39

Anyway, you probably remember that half my family is in Australia. So I definitely won't be seeing them this year.

Bunnycat101 · 21/12/2021 18:41

There are so many people in isolation not having the christmases they expected, there are another chunk of people who have plans for Boxing Day or later who have no confidence they’ll happen. I’m due to theatre on the 23rd but feels too risky so I’ve lost a chunk of money I won’t get back but more importantly for the sector, I’d be very nervous about booking next Christmas unless the situation massively improves over 2022. I know lots of people who were meant to be on holiday whose plans have been cancelled. We might get Christmas Day but for many people this Christmas will not be normal at all regardless of the announcement today.

Ilikeviognier · 21/12/2021 18:42

Hmmm can’t get too excited given the prospect of lockdown Boxing Day onwards and all plans from 26 December onwards wrecked Sad

troper · 21/12/2021 18:43

@User135644

Glad we can enjoy Christmas now.
The guidance and rules don't stop people from spreading it or catching it tho. He's not actually made any difference to that.

Some people assume that because what they're doing isn't illegal (or against guidance) then it's safe.

He's not given us a free pass from covid (just the option to spread it if they choose to do so)

All mine it’s hard. I’ll have to take joy where I can. Have a good one anyway Smile
Unsure33 · 21/12/2021 18:45

He didn’t ruin it either that was the virus.

Why do posters use media headlines to make such cruel comments.

So you. Hate him. So you won’t vote for him. Ok we get the Message

But we don’t need it shoved down our throat on every post. If people were wishing covid on a woman you would all be up in arms.

We live in a democracy. Vote him out . But try and stick to intelligent comments.

Tealightsandd · 21/12/2021 18:47

It is hard isn't it.

Thanks, and wishing you a good one too (as good as it can be under the circumstances) Smile

TheRedTowel · 21/12/2021 18:48

@Justmuddlingalong

The only thing he's trying to save is his arse.
Exactly.

He couldn't save anything else if he tried.

WeatherwaxOn · 21/12/2021 18:49

@MollyQueenOfSocks

He didn't do anything except try and save his own arse?
he couldn't find his own arse with both hands.
ilovesooty · 21/12/2021 18:49

We can't vote him out. We're stuck with him. I will freely say I despise and loathe him more than I've ever loathed anyone. I want to see him reap the consequences of his self serving ambition, laziness and dishonesty.

ancientgran · 21/12/2021 18:51

@x2boys

He's Damned if he does and damned If he doesn't really .
Yes he should be damned.
AliceA2021 · 21/12/2021 18:52

All the Boris fans will be delighted that's he so gracious to them, what a star he is, long may he continue running the show.

The rest of us realise what an incompetent twat he is and realise claiming he saved the day is for sycophants only.

ancientgran · 21/12/2021 18:54

Three of my kids are with their partners at in laws, one was with me with partner. They now have covid, sound really poorly but we try to make the best of it with now all 4 will be with us for New Year, God help us with sleeping arrangements with 4 of them plus 4 partners plus 6 GC.

Of course the big but is will we actually see any of them at New Year? Just me and disabled DH last year. I feel like I've had enough now.

Chloemol · 21/12/2021 18:55

My guess is more restrictions from the 27th

LittleRoundRobin · 21/12/2021 18:55

Pref that to a lockdown!
LittleRoundRobin · 21/12/2021 18:56

Fuck that. I will be a lot happier when he announces here will be NO LOCKDOWN in 2022.

Apparently Rishi Sunak has already said if we have a lockdown that there will be no furlough, but people can claim sick pay. Marvellous! My DH bringing in £400 a fucking MONTH will be just dandy! I mean that's fucking PLENTY to live on isn't it?! Hmm

Good job I can work from home and get paid in full, but a £1500 a month drop in our joint salary is going to fucking burn. How in the name of FUCK are people meant to survive on a cunty amount like £400 a month? Confused
