having given up on Boris' announcements, I wondered if anyone else fancies making one. 5pm timing optional but you can leave everyone waiting for hours first if you prefer.

Went food shopping for more Christmas goodies
I do have a cheese board which is small and pathetic compared to a ' number 10 , not a party , party ' cheese board and supermarket wine.

Breaking news: you can’t escape it. I’m miserable as fuck. DH and I are teachers. Primary DC. Testers positive yesterday and kids are very poorly.

It smells like the stew is burning. But I can't ascertain the rate of burn so not sure whether to turn it down, stir it up, or do nothing.
I'm going to ask my scientist friend, then ignore their advice.

BIL has announced today his 'surprise' for us: He's coming from abroad to stay with us (2 adults 2 DCs) in our very small flat for twelve days over Christmas.

He's planning to go out as much as possible to enjoy the festive atmosphere and do shopping. I'm asthmatic and pregnant, was really hoping for a COVID-free and calm Christmas and New Year.

The day he leaves a friend of DH is coming to stay for a few days in a pre-arranged and non-surprise visit. We are going to have a house guest for over a month non-stop. In the middle of this I somehow have to pass my driving test.

I’ve wrapped up all the presents but realised once I had started I have no gift tags so they are all wrapped but nameless. It’s going to be a lucky dip on Christmas Day Grin

I've been told at work today that because the company give birthday leave to it's employees, and mine is on a Saturday (this Saturday), I can have Christmas Eve off....I'm agency staff on a 3 month contract so wasn't expecting that.
