Does anyone know how long PCR tests are coming back at the moment?

You really can contact 119 for a chase after 72 hours, you can even call before to check it’s been registered correctly.

Thisislifefornow · 21/12/2021 19:16

Last week completed test, 5 days until result.

ouchmyfeet · 21/12/2021 19:19

@R1234567

Still waiting …27 hours
I'm in Cheshire too and coming up to 50 hours Sad
Jenasaurus · 21/12/2021 19:28

Did mine at midday yesterday so 31 hours so far, :)

OpalOwl · 21/12/2021 20:45

Im at 86 hours now.....cheshire

StylishDuck · 21/12/2021 20:49

24 hours for me last week, 48 hours for DH earlier this week. Still waiting for DD's results, her test was 1 hour after DH's. We're in Scotland.

ToastCrumbsOnAPlate · 21/12/2021 20:52

I got my positive result 19 hours after my postal test was received. I'm in London.

R1234567 · 21/12/2021 21:37

I’m still waiting…😩

Well my daughter is now over eighty hours. Still nothing. She has some minor health anxiety and I can honestly say this is a stressful nightmare, she’s done her bit, she’s got tested, four days later, she still doesn’t have a result. Negative lateral flows but she’s not sleeping waiting for those fucking pcr results to come through.

I genuinely wish I’d talked her into not bothering. I honestly wish she’d never done it.and I’d recommend any one not to bother. It’s seriously not worth it.

She took the time, booked it, got confirmation, we drove her there, four days later, nothing. Total and utter waste of time.

35 hours now and work for an ambulance trust, my PCR package was marked as frontline worker, do you know if that's because they process them differently.

Front line worker here too and over 72hrs now for mail pcr, supposedly should have had results quicker, this was done as we'd come in contact at work 🤔 Did another pcr via drive through as lft came out positive today, so more waiting around.

Following on from my last post ....STILL WAITING.

First test, sent on the 13th - lost after waiting 5 days, ringing, emailing ( still no reply)
Second test sent Monday 20th - still no response after 30 hours.

I've given up and had to cancel Christmas. Leaving the decision any later would mean that family coming to stay would be left with too little time to plan anything else.

Christmas alone it is. 🙁

chipshopElvis · 21/12/2021 22:55

59 hours, North West.

starfilledsky · 21/12/2021 23:01

I got a positive result 4 hours after taking my test. Was really shocked. My negative one a few days ago took 24 hours.

TooTiredForThis2 · 22/12/2021 00:48

Posted yesterday, got results this evening

Wagedogsbody · 22/12/2021 01:21

Consistently around 12 hours in the North East for walk in / drive.

Assuming you were symptomatic before Monday 20th, I wonder if the latest announcement might rescue your Xmas plans ? inews.co.uk/news/politics/10-day-covid-isolation-cut-7-days-ease-pressure-nhs-supply-chains-1364572

19.5 hours here. 3 negatives but as DH already positive it doesn't count for much

East Sussex

Bluntness100 · 22/12/2021 08:22

Still nothing for my daughter here, so that’s about 90 hours or so now. I think I shall call them today. It’s appalling. How can anyone go to a drive through, get the test done, and have literally no communication 4 days later. Are they still processing, is it lost, what?

The whole thing was so pointless.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 22/12/2021 08:33

Nothing here either. It's beyond a farce.

AshLane · 22/12/2021 10:34

Thanks but too late, plans are changed. I can't now make it worse by changing them back, leaving family with all the food they've bought and plans made with others.

They won't help you with the test results until 6 days have passed. ( just changed). When I called it was 3 days...

Bluntness100 · 22/12/2021 10:59

Yes, my daughter is giving it up as a bad job, isolation is now seven days and the seventh day is Christmas Day so she’s not going to get retested, whole thing was a waste of time. I asked if she wanted to call but she’s no desire to hang on the phone for over an hour. Can’t blame her.

It was a waste of everyone’s time and effort and totally pointless.

OpalOwl · 22/12/2021 18:36

Finally got mine from Friday, Negative.
