When will there be an update?

I thought yesterday they were going to give us the update about what will happen regarding restrictions?

I'd rather know than just be left in the dark. I don't mind whether we have a lockdown, circuit breaker or something else but I'd just like to know!

I think the issue is more about staff sickness rates rather than the fear that ICU depts will be overwhelmed; admission rates are higher this time of the year anyway due to flu (which incidentally kills about 40,000 a year) so add into the mix a load of doctors, nurses and other medical staff who cannot come to work due to testing positive (they might feel perfectly well but obvuoisly a positive result means they can't pitch up) and you have a situation where the NHS are overwhelmed, more due to absence of staff than numbers of admissions. I think the gvt are going to have to take some kind of action - regardless of whether Omicron is or isn't milder than Delta and other variants. I wish they would just get on with it

I went out today and the pub wasn't very busy at all. The staff wasn't wearing masks.
I'm sick of hiding away, had the jabs and I'll do the right things. I've had covid and I was lucky to get over it , was nasty , but at least I might have a bit of natural immunity now!

@Pelsall116 no flu kills an average of 17,000 a year. 40,000 is when teh flu vaccines don't work.

We won't hesitate. However, we will wait for a bit before not hesitating.

London has lowest vaccination rate in England. More needs to be done to educate people to get a jab. Please! Tube must be an incubator.

I’m already in isolation until 28th ( thanks to germ ball kids at work) so Christmas with family is cancelled for the 2nd year running-I WILL BE CELEBRATING-despite what they say- a belated Christmas Day on the 29th 🖕🏻

I think they don’t want to upset an already split country. We have the sensible & in my mind normal, and we have the self entitled idiots that think that the government are controlling them with lies.
Ok the government haven’t been great as such they’re trying & I do feel for Boris at the front of this. No other politicians has dealt with this in the last 100 odd years.
Everything is so public & judged these days. We’ve no real idea how Boris feels or what he really thinks. We’ve no idea if he is actually a pr@t. What we do know is that the government want good figures, so they’re not going to try to kill anyone if they can help it. I just wish EVERYONE would conform, and they’d shush about control, stop suggesting it’s like DV Or abuse. If EVERYONE JUST STOPPED FOLLOWED RULES For 2-4 weeks maybe this would go away

Is this a joke? It was obvious to anybody with half a brain cell, for many year prior to him standing for PM, that Johnson is a useless, vain, lying, irresponsible idiot with no principles.

As for "if everybody following the rules for 2-4 weeks this would go away", I am speechless as how you could genuinely believe this to be true having presumably received a free basic education to at least primary school level.
