I still encourage others to get their booster od course, but is anyone else feeling utterly dreadful?
Everything from the arm up hurts, pounding head, feel sick, earache (???) And feel like I have been sedated

I had the Moderna booster yesterday after AZ first and second vaccines. Felt fine for 10 hours then chills, joint/muscular aching, headache began. Managed to sleep and felt slightly better this morning, improving this afternoon and just tired this evening. Arm has ached the whole time. I had COVID last Christmas unvaccinated (obviously) and had similar side effects with my first AZ vaccine. I have been told side effects tend to be worse if you have previously had COVID. Hope you all feel better soon!

I'm joining this, I had my moderna jab yesterday at 11am, last night was awful! I've never felt so ill, shivering, aching, felt like I was hit by truck! As for today keep going through spells of feeling better but not really! It's been tough!

KitBumbleB · 18/12/2021 22:09

My period was just about to end but now I am getting heavy, fresh bleeding. How odd, I wonder what it is about the jab that is causing it?
(I'm not trying to stir trouble, clearly not an anti-vaxxer as I have had 3 jabs)

I had Pfizer for my first two jabs. As I say no period for four months after first dose.

I've got my booster on Tuesday. Hoping I Will be okay 😬

foxgoosefinch · 18/12/2021 22:12

For all of us suffering with Moderna, the CovBoost study suggested that Moderna gave the best immune boost by a small margin on Pfizer! Not so comforting when suffering through the side effects though 😂

Diversion · 18/12/2021 22:21

According to my friend, her arm actually fell off!! She has a tendency to exaggerate so it was likely that her arm was a little painful. She didn't report any other side effects though

AwkwardPaws27 · 18/12/2021 22:23

DH & I are both fine; sore arm & a bit tired.
DH was far worse after his 1st & 2nd (AZ), we've both had Pfizer this time and I honestly felt worse after my flu vaccine last month.

DevonTF · 18/12/2021 22:24

Had the Moderna, AZ for the first two. no reaction to them, but reacted really badly to the Booster. Appointment at midday, at 3.30am I woke up feeling horrendous. Freezing cold, awful headache, nausea, back ache etc. Was ill for 3 days, two spent in bed out of it. I checked the list of possible side effects - only one I hadn’t had was a nose bleed.

DH has his a week later, absolutely no side effects at all. But - if you told me I needed another, I would.

Talsaml · 18/12/2021 22:35

Had Pfizer last night at 8pm. Woke up fine with a still arm. Then at around 2pm today I was exhausted, headache few aches and pains. Had AZ for the first 2 and felt rotten after first dose. I’m happy I don’t feel as bad as first dose !

Phrowzunn · 18/12/2021 22:35

Had the Moderna booster, felt absolutely awful for about 36 hours then totally fine.

So would I if it meant I got to spend 2 days in bed to recuperate! Sadly despite feeling like I’d been run over I had to get up at 5am as usual with the toddler, get them all to school and nursery, go to work, pick them all up and take them to their extra curricular activities!
Badabingbadatinselbum · 18/12/2021 22:48

Dh did. Moderna middle of the day Thursday, felt off a few hours after. Thursday night up to this afternoon he has felt awful. Worse than he felt than when he had covid apparently!

Made be a bit nervy about getting mine but there are so many different reactions I'm hoping it is just luck.

BringOnTheOtherWorlders · 18/12/2021 22:50

Had Pfizer #3 yesterday at 2pm. Today I have fever, flu symptoms, hit by a bus feeling, nausea - just feel horrible.

Same thing happened after Pfizer #2.

If it plays out the same I should wake up tomorrow with no fever and feeling better, except for headaches and fatigue which will last several weeks.

Flockameanie · 18/12/2021 22:56

Pfizer booster. Sore arm for a few days. Headache next morning and 2hrs of intense fatigue in the afternoon. 2 days later came down with sore throat that became a stinking cold. Was convinced it was covid but negative pcr. Probably just a coincidence and not to do with the booster though. I was fine after both AZs.

DH had zero side effects from 2x Pfizer and a Moderna booster. My mum also had none from 2xAZ and a Pfizer booster.

AnnieSmithson · 18/12/2021 22:59

I had my Pfizer booster on Wednesday and still feel rubbish 😭

You shouldn’t be worried about talking about side effects. I hope you’ve reported theme on the yellow card scheme?
Whyisitsodifficult · 18/12/2021 23:00

Them!

Councilworker · 18/12/2021 23:03

Pfizer booster after 2 AZ inital vax. Absolutely exhausted the last couple of days. Hot flushes and just grotty feeling, concentration is shot as I'm so tired. Had my flu jab at the same time and my lymph glands in my neck are so swollen, worst on the flu side though. Lump the size of my thumbnail and so sore I can't lie on my right side. Never had anything like it after any other jab.

Jouleigh · 18/12/2021 23:08

I had Pfizer for all 3, had my booster at 4pm today, so 7 hours ago, no problems so far.
Didn't have any symptoms for the first two either though.
Arm isn't sore and can't even see the injection site.

HangingOver · 18/12/2021 23:08

Moderna. Feel soooo cold and achey (and grateful).

Ghostsintheshelf · 18/12/2021 23:08

Moderna yesterday, and have felt rubbish all day. Tired, sore throat, headache, shivery.

Re. periods, my first two doses were Pfizer and both times my period came about a week early, which never happens normally.

Elieza · 18/12/2021 23:08

AZ for first two, Moderna for booster. Had teeth chattering, sweats, sore joints and louping arm for all. It only lasted 24-48hrs. I can’t remember exactly how long.

OliveTree75 · 18/12/2021 23:37

I had moderna this morning. Started feeling wiped out at tea time and now feel like I have flu - temperature, achey, shivering, feel sick. Hoping it doesn't last long

DramaAlpaca · 18/12/2021 23:41

I had no side effects other than a mildly sore arm after my Pfizer booster, but I felt horrible for a few hours after my second Moderna jab.

GrazingSheep · 18/12/2021 23:43

Had Pfizer on Tuesday
Absolutely fine
Zero side effects thankfully!
