How long for PCR results?

How long has it taken for everyone's PCR results to come back recently???

I did one Wednesday at 11am and had a text at 6.19am the next morning.

Test at 5.30pm yesterday and nothing back yet. It's usually within 24 hours here (far north of Scotland) so they must be extra busy

Update on mine.
It was in the post system 48 hours, then delivered to lab
Now 84 hours from first posting, still no message/email

Given up on it now.

Home postal test - Tested 16:00, Posted 17:30 yesterday (16/12/2021) and result 19:10 today (17/12/2021). Package was tracked as far as Jubilee Mail Centre, so I guess went to a lab in London.

That's good - we posted in London yesterday at 2.30, nothing back yet

Update on mine, we had another 1 back (about 33 hours, drive through, central Scotland), still waiting for 2. Now 36 hours and counting. All tests booked and taken together.

S West . Tested me and Dd on weds morning . Dd had strong positive LFTs .. My (negative result) arrived at five pm this evening , so 55 hours , still no sign of dds so I’m wondering if it’s vanished into the ether 🙄

Mine was back in 11 hours 10.30am-9.30pm

One of our "missing" ones is from someone with strong positive lfts - do you think they're doing some weird checking with the positives?

I don’t know why people are 🙄 over one set of test results coming back when a few of you went for a test in the same car at the same time. Tests are obviously sent off to the labs in bulk and the lab processors wouldn’t know (or care) who was in what car.

So I’m 🙄 back at the ignorance around this.

I am in Wales. Tested wed 8am, negative result wed 11pm. V quick!

My dd sent hers off on Tuesday, still no results!

Yes I appreciate that they all go in a box and go off in a random fashion but we’ve done a few now all together and there hasn’t usually been more than an hour between results coming through . It’s just annoying as it’s 72 hours by the morning so I’ll probably have to chase up
She’s been isolating in her room anyway
@LatinforTelly I was told any subsequent sequencing is usually done after the initial positive is advised

I think I read somewhere that 1 in 6 positives are then looked at for Omicron. Expect then some kind of statistic by multiplying to estimate how its progressing for the whole population

I don't think this would make any difference to how quick any positive result comes back though, because that would be sent automatically straight away.

I think some being late is a mixture of postal service and labs just being very busy.

I guess it's just frustration. I do know logically they don't bundle 4 tests up together but you'd think a box from the same site would be done roughly the same time.

Anyhow the last 2 have come back, one negative one positive, as suspected.

Yes you’d kind of assume that boxes would go off together at least . Still waiting for DDs . I guess I’ll chase up in the morning

I'm starting to panic that I put the wrong mobile number down as I didn't get confirmation of the test which I usually get. It was definitely the correct email, they do still come to both don't they?

Panic over. Negative results just come through via email all at once.

SW London - test on Thursday and negative result within 18 hrs

Text came through 7 hours later. Definitely worth keeping an eye on your emails.

I did a test on Wednesday and still no result.

It'll be 72 hours come 9.30am and still nothing. Starting to think they've lost it. I'm SW England.

Wroughton testing site 6pm Monday. Dd was positive and had her result the following morning at 10am. The rest of us that were negative and got our results at 8pm on the Wednesday

Currently waiting. Had PCR yesterday at 4pm
