Anyone had a PCR recently (11/12/13 Dec)? How long did it take?

It’s got very busy for testing now with Omicron obviously. I’ve had some really quick walk in tests this year (sub 12hrs) but wondering how they are doing now. Any recent experiences?

I had mine just after 12pm today so am in the anxious wait zone. I’ll start getting twitchy after midnight. I hate the waiting, I drive myself crackers with it.

I could have written this post, I'm in exactly the same position. Haven't heard anything yet ... following with interest!

superram · 13/12/2021 21:09

Still waiting.

becca3210 · 13/12/2021 21:10

Waiting too had mine at 2pm so stressful isn't it!

happytoday73 · 13/12/2021 21:11

Dd test yesterday at 12 noon, results today at 10am (negative)

womaninatightspot · 13/12/2021 21:17

I did four yesterday (me and children)at 4:30pm yesterday. Results were in 4:16pm today.

Orangedaisy · 13/12/2021 21:23

Not 11/12/13 but 10th - Friday morning 1130 test, results came through Sunday at 0740. Much longer than previously but still not dreadful. South London.

TreePorcupine · 13/12/2021 21:30

Test delivered for collection on Saturday at 11:00am. Emailed at 21:40 that the test had been delivered for testing and then emailed again at 3:35am on Sunday to advise that the test result was negative.

So, approximately 17 hours from completing the test to receiving the test result using a home kit.

PotteringAlong · 13/12/2021 21:31

Test at 10am today. Text arrived 5 minutes ago. (All negative Grin)

chipshopElvis · 13/12/2021 21:32

3 of us got tested on 11th at 4pm Two of us had results about 10.30am today, so about 40 hours and the other result came through at 1.30pm today?!

Lemons1571 · 13/12/2021 21:36

50 hours here (South England) but I think it takes longer if a Sunday is in the wait.

SparePantsAndLego · 13/12/2021 21:36

Tested on 12/12 and results were back in 18 hours. DH’s were back in 14, but it was in the early hours so we got them when we woke.

Elizabeth110100 · 13/12/2021 21:36

17 hours. Positive. It's been as little as 9 hours in the past and as long as 60 hours.

AuntHilda · 13/12/2021 21:37

Test at 11.30am today, negative results back at 9pm. A record for me!

Under 12 hours, drive through site NW England (negative).
Quite an improvement to the 10 days (!) that we waited in spring.......... (don't ask me how many hours I've spent on the phone to t&t)

OhPeeQueue · 13/12/2021 21:46

DS had his yesterday at 3pm. Got the result at 9am this morning.

daiawndiolch · 13/12/2021 21:56

Reading these responses it seems that there is no pattern at all. Tested at drive through centre yesterday at 10.30 and nothing yet. I have, however, had emails asking for feedback on the testing process but no results yet 🤦‍♀️

MrsBungle · 13/12/2021 21:58

My dd and I tested at a drive through site yesterday at 1pm. Text came through about 3am this morning.

Allmyfavouritepeople · 13/12/2021 22:01

Tested at 13.30pm yesterday 12/12/21
Result received (negative) 16.00pm today 13/12/21
Tiny bit slower than previous but still in good time

Mummyme87 · 13/12/2021 22:05

I had one 7th and came back 20hrs later. My kids and OH had one on 8th and took 24hrs for two to come back, and 25hrs for another.

OhPeeQueue · 13/12/2021 22:05

I think if you’re waiting more than 24 hours, then just go and get another one.

TerribleCustomerCervix · 13/12/2021 22:07

Tested at 10:30 on Saturday at a walk through and got the result at 7 on Sunday morning.

The testing staff said it could be up to 72 hours before getting a result.
