I wonder what they’ll say.

Work from home 'if you can'
Wear face masks

Why on earth were those simple measures not kept throughout?
Obviously wearing face masks is an easy thing, unless you are one of the tiny percentage who really cannot, and if you can't work from home - don't! It's nothing major.

MarshaBradyo · 08/12/2021 18:16

@Cyrilgoggin

EnnandJay I care about others. Like my colleagues in the hospitality and tourism industries who have seen their businesses decimated. I've seen the toll on their emotional health and the worry over finances. I care very deeply.
Of course people care about others like this, you’re right

Most do unless ignoring all else

NMC2022 · 08/12/2021 18:16

@EnnAndJay

So basically, he's done fuck all.

Tests still sufficient for the Covid pass, WFH only "if you can"...

We're in the same fucking mess we were five minutes ago.

Employers will just say no you can't WFH People will carry on saying they're exempt if they don't want to wear a mask And the sheep/muzzle/microchip people seem to be increasing Fuck knows what the answer is
TeacherMa · 08/12/2021 18:16

Okay so doesn’t sound like much difference to what is already happening for us lot in Scotland. Work from home and masks have still be in place all this time. And lots of places asking to see my vaccine proof to gain entry.

Theunamedcat · 08/12/2021 18:17

Ffs people are panicking again in my area I can hear the cars streaming down to the shops 😑 I hate living on a main road

LittlestLightOnTheXmasTree · 08/12/2021 18:17

So no incentives to get vaccinated or to have boosters

The unvaccinated will still be off isolating every 5 minutes

Booster take up will be low, even lower for further doses

Thesearmsofmine · 08/12/2021 18:17

@Magicalwoodlands

A lot of people have wanted lockdowns, it’s really odd but I’ve noticed this.
Usually people easily able to work from home with access to outdoor space and can order everything delivered to them. They don’t care that to facilitate the lockdown they want others hve to put themselves at risk.
CaliforniaDrumming · 08/12/2021 18:17

Nothing's changed much, has it? We won't need endless boosters for covid passes , as was feared.

Waxonwaxoff0 · 08/12/2021 18:18

Seems fine to me. I'm happy to wear a mask and can't WFH in my job anyway. Glad there's no harsher restrictions.

Jacketpotato84 · 08/12/2021 18:18

I think to try to get maximum compliance he's putting restrictions in gradually.
There will be more to come watch this space

Depressing. They are hugely damaging. And even worse at this point.

I can’t even say how bad it would be

No masks for venues?

What's the point.... everyone can still transmit vaccine or not, LFT or not

Probably how it's spreading

whynotwhatknot · 08/12/2021 18:19

so nothing much except work from home which alot of people still cant

Malteser71 · 08/12/2021 18:19

Didn’t you notice the bit where he said ‘the nhs covid app pass will still be available after only two vaccinations, for now.’

So in future they won’t be valid unless you’ve had a booster, too

Amazing that two weeks ago Sajid said that we might be able to stop wearing masks sooner than 3 weeks after they were reintroduced. Now look at us.

They're a joke.

paranoidnamechanger · 08/12/2021 18:19

Because cases are rising and Omicron hospitalisations in SA are rising rapidly.

Yes but their vaccination rate is much lower than ours.

PurpleDaisies · 08/12/2021 18:20

They’ve said they’ll keep whether you need a booster for a covid pass under review.

He said 'for now'.
EnnAndJay · 08/12/2021 18:20

Doubling time of two days = 90000 cases of Omicron in two weeks time.

And they're doing fuck all to stop it.

RhubarbTea · 08/12/2021 18:20

Of course they'll change it so a booster is required for a covid pass - I don't agree with this, I fucking hate the idea, but they know that a softly softly approach is needed while not every person has had a chance to get a booster. They have said they'll keep it under review.

wincarwoo · 08/12/2021 18:20

@MaxNormal

And force vaccines

Try it.

If you're not vaxxed then you can't do shit. That would help.
threecee · 08/12/2021 18:20

it will be interesting to see if the journalists who were at the event are named also !
