Snivelling, because she GOT CAUGHT sniggering

MistressoftheDarkSide · 08/12/2021 17:29

Just actually watched the footage about the alleged party, and aside from whether it did it did not happen, what kind of bunch of idiots allows themselves to be recorded like this, even jokingly in the febrile and back stabbing political climate in the UK now? Was it a set up if some sort? Are they all being leveraged by other parties in disagreement with either Covid or other policies? Why release it now? Doesxsoneone think now is a particularly good time to de-stabilise our entire government further?

And is there anything else going through under the wire in Parliament that the public might take umbrage with without this highly emotive distraction?

We really need a good old fashioned investigative journalist to dig through this, because if this is all just the stupidity of our politicians, theres little hope for us on the big issues....

Yeah I do feel kind of sorry for her if she's taking the brunt, if I'd been harangued and vilified all day and forced to resign I might be a bit upset too.

Ghoulette · 08/12/2021 17:31

@User135644

Poor Allegra. You'd have to be cold hearted to not feel sorry for her watching that.
I was far more distraught last Christmas working in healthcare, being the last person to see someone alive, because their family wasn't allowed to visit, thanks.

She, the cold hearted bitch who thought it was oh-so-hilarious that the peasants suffered can fuck off and rot in poverty quite frankly.

the80sweregreat · 08/12/2021 17:33

I hope she cries all week , stupid woman
My contempt for her knows no bounds ..
she was laughing at the British public.

Coldenoughforyou · 08/12/2021 17:34

I don’t feel sorry for her. She is paying the price for the giggly flirty in-joke comments about a party in lockdown which she obviously thought was very funny. That video is horrible to watch.

Agree with pps she should have just made a formal statement to apologise and resign.

the80sweregreat · 08/12/2021 17:34

@larkle

I feel sorry for her. We all make mistakes and plenty of politicians have done far worse. It is not nice to see any woman so upset. She appears genuinely contrite and she has apologised. Some posters appear to glory in her distress. I think she has been made the scapegoat.
Do not care at all She'll be ok though , people like her always are
Skiptheheartsandflowers · 08/12/2021 17:35

I'll save my sympathy for people who haven't been given a highly paid job to lie to journalists on the government's behalf. She had a career beforehand, this wasn't her only option for earning money. If that makes me cold hearted, I cheerfully own up to it (which is more than Johnson will do about anything)

Hello from the Ice Queen then. I think she's finally found her forte...as a very bad B rated actress.

If her sniffles were real it's because she's been caught.

Like I said, it's pretty satisfying to watch her sobbing purely because she got caught being an arsehole (because she sure isnt sorry she actually did something wrong, she is sorry she got caught out) when I literally watched people die, held patients while they sobbed because they couldn't see relatives before they themselves died, sat in the room multiple times while patients died and their relatives weren't even allowed to look through a window. I could go on but it was fucking devastating and I quit clinical practice because of it.

But tell me again how oh so sorry I should feel for someone who thought it was all fucking hilarious Hmm

SmellyOldOwls · 08/12/2021 17:36

@CalamariGames

Well when the PM backed Cummings but she is getting the boot even though apparently there was no party it all seems a bit unfair.

Wonder if PM just wanted rid of her and that's why the video was leaked.

the80sweregreat · 08/12/2021 17:36

How anyone can stick up for this lousy woman is totally unhinged !
.. laughing at people , contemptuous and unfeeling.

HeronLanyon · 08/12/2021 17:37

I agree we are becoming lost in a swirl of madness.
She’s been sacked for comments and jokes about a party that ‘didn’t ever happen’. FFS. What an absolute mess. Loathe this government.
Not sorry for her she’s deep in the whole rotten system but I’m struggling to see what they think we will understand by these contradictory comments/actions.

theDudesmummy · 08/12/2021 17:37

Don't feel sorry for her one bit. She knew exactly what type of people she was working for. And thought it was all SO hilair.

IncompleteSenten · 08/12/2021 17:37

I believe that tears in this sort of situation are almost always either manipulative ooh feel sorry for me tears or I'm the victim here it's not fair I feel so sorry for myself tears.
I don't give a shit about those kinds of tears. They can cry a river and get washed downstream on it for all I care.

SmellyOldOwls · 08/12/2021 17:38

@MrsMadderRose

I feel for her a teeeeeeeeeeeny bit. She had to go because she looks so smug and sneery on the video - she looks like she doesn't give a shit, and she laughs and falls about. You'd have to go. But it's not actually her fault that it happened and I imagine she loved her job and is devastated. The crying didn't look self-pitying to me - just that she was very upset and realised how she came across.

I would prefer to see Boris crying and resigning when he realises how he comes across. Come on Boris.

Priti Patel had a permanent smug sneer on her face, hopefully we'll get rid of her soon too.
theDudesmummy · 08/12/2021 17:39

She IS a scapegoat but she should have priced that possibility in when she decided to work for venal grasping self-centred self-satisfied c*ts.

ancientgran · 08/12/2021 17:40

@MrsMadderRose

But people do laugh and joke like this about what's going on at work. In the video it's almost like she's mocking the excuses that have been made about the party, and it's clear she's fully aware that something happened that shouldn't have and it's really awkward.

I completely understand why she resigned and I think she had to, but I bet a LOT of people have a laugh with colleagues about stupid/ill-advised/dodgy goings on at work.

I have to say hand on heart I started work 53 years ago and I have never had a laugh at work about law breaking in the workplace. I thought most people would be the same.

I have worked with 3 people who ended up in prison and there was no laughing.

theDudesmummy · 08/12/2021 17:40

She'll get another job. Or not. As she pleases. Don't worry, she's not going to be at the food bank any time soon, or worrying how to feed her children.

I thought she resigned?
the80sweregreat · 08/12/2021 17:42

I hope she has a lot of problems getting a new job ! She won't, but I'd like to think she might be unemployed for a little while at least
Her redundancy money will last her a while I suppose.
How people can actually feel sorry for her is beyond me though. Lay down with fleas and you get bitten.

I'm pretty sure she won't be left destitute as a result of this.

I'm sure the Spectator can probably find her a job somewhere.

Actually, that might be the unintended consequence of all this - fucking off the Editor of the Spectator. There must be some serious dirt on the lot of them hidden away somewhere. It'll certainly be interesting to find out if that's the case.

What has being a woman got to do with it, either it's a shame someone is upset or it isn't. Sex has got nothing to do with it.
theDudesmummy · 08/12/2021 17:45

Her husband is worth plenty, she'll be fine.

HeronLanyon · 08/12/2021 17:46

ancient gran yes my mistake. She does say she’s offered her resignation. I heard that as she’s been forced / told / been required to do so. So now I can’t even hear things said correctly or take anything at face value. Apols you’re totally correct !
