I haven’t as far as I know and I’m absolutely lost as to how I haven’t as I’m a teacher and loads of our kids and staff have it.

OP posts:
Forgothowmuchlhatehomeschoolin · 05/12/2021 19:27

Nobody in my immediate family have had it

PleaseReferToMeAsBritneySpears · 05/12/2021 19:31

@user1497787065

I haven't and don't know anyone who has.

Gosh! That's amazing! Probably over half the people I know have had it!

BeyondMyWits · 05/12/2021 19:33

Don't think we've had it , but with most cases being asymptomatic who knows.

QueenCuntyFlippers · 05/12/2021 19:34

Ha! I'm a teacher and have wonder that. I tested positive yesterday 😭

I'd clearly just gotten away with it until now!

rainrainraincamedowndowndown · 05/12/2021 19:37

None of my family had it yet, including my in laws and my own family in different country.

Howshouldibehave · 05/12/2021 19:38

None of my family have, though lots of colleagues and friends. Feel like it’s only a matter of time.

maa32 · 05/12/2021 19:39

No one in my house has. I'm a student nurse, I was on placement the entire pandemic and DH worked full time throughout too, DS is in nursery and they had a few outbreaks but he never had it. I was also pregnant and constantly in hospital and never caught it.

Was exposed via various family members and didn't catch it. I don't think I ever will

seb342 · 05/12/2021 19:41

Nope and I've worked throughout in retail and without any screens or ppe for a large part of it. Come to think of it there's over 200 staff plus temps and there's been hardly any covid in our store. Maybe covid knows people have to eat and doesn't infect retail staff, it's obviously the power of the uniform.

kikipie · 05/12/2021 19:44

Me, my husband, my mum, my 3 siblings and their partners, my neighbour friends - in fact no one close to us has had it

BurntO · 05/12/2021 19:47

I’m really surprised with you being a teacher OP! Must be really lucky. We worked from home all though and caught it in October 21 after visiting chester zoo (first family trip since covid!) some family have worked in retail all through and haven’t caught it. It’s been rife in DSs school and he never brought it home either

SevastopolKG348 · 05/12/2021 19:47

No nothing.

nannybeach · 05/12/2021 19:52

I've never had any symptoms. DH had all the classic symptoms February 2020,but we didn't know about it then. His idea of a spicy meal was a chicken korma, now he eats very spicy stuff, his taste and smell being affected. Things smell "different and odd" to him now. All my DKs had every classic symptoms at different times last summer, isolated, but none tested. I know quite a few people personally who've had it, mainly nursing colleagues

NeverEndingFireworks · 05/12/2021 19:52

no - but I know lots of people who have, one of my adult DC, a friend and her partner who likely caught it from her GCs as the whole family went down after a family get together, another old friend got it along with her DD who lives with her, but her DH and the GC didn't...... all of the above were vaccinated some felt worse than others, but all came through it ok

GypsyWanderer · 05/12/2021 19:56

Family of 6 here and only one of us (DS) has had it. Several times now one of us (not me because I hardly go anywhere!) has been in close contact with a positive case over the last few months too.

Nectarines · 05/12/2021 19:56

Nobody in my house has had it. I’m a teacher, husband is police and we have two primary age kids. A little while ago there was a massive outbreak in my class. 20 out of 29 children plus two TAs tested positive. I didn’t. And I’d been on a minibus with loads of them the day they tested.

Weird!

Whisperinastorm · 05/12/2021 20:01

My 8 year old son has had it. No one else in the household caught it and none of my immediate family have had it either. I do know lots of friends who have had it though.

screwcovid · 05/12/2021 20:02

Not sure but not tested positive prob will now

TartanTrollop · 05/12/2021 20:03

Nope. Frontline NHS. Some time in covid ICU. Numerous exposures throughout

Nor DH. Travelling throughout (work).
Nor DD. Supermarket.
So knackered I’m at the point where 10 days enforced isolation sounds blissful.

screwcovid · 05/12/2021 20:04

@Delatron

Nope. Despite not being particularly careful. Being in close contact to lots of confirmed cases including DS2.

I find it fascinating. You often read threads on here about people being so careful then the first time they venture out they get it in the supermarket.

I wonder whether we either had it asymptomatically in the first wave then got t-cells rather than antibodies. Or the vaccines are doing their job.

I am convinced I’ve been exposed multiple times.

I also had a very strange virus at the end of 2019. Was exhausted for months. I wonder if it was a similar coronavirus that gave some immunity.

I find it all fascinating.

Me too
Justcannotbearsed · 05/12/2021 20:05

Not me or dh. Step kids did, young adults living with their mum, but she didn’t get it. None of my siblings have had it. 2 close friends have. Some acquaintances and 1 work colleague. All the young children of work colleagues have had it though.

SamMil · 05/12/2021 20:09

I haven't, despite my 3 year old catching it.

gamerchick · 05/12/2021 20:15

Not that I know of. Youngest kid got it recently, me and husband didn't. Both worked throughout

It's a really strange virus.

IgneousRock · 05/12/2021 20:16

I haven't had it (as far as I know).

AColdDuncanGoodhew · 05/12/2021 20:19

I'm a nurse, haven't had it, neither has my husband and children or any of my friends and family.

My mum's cousin had it at the very beginning and my friends partner has it now but we've all been very lucky

SilverOtter · 05/12/2021 20:21

Nope. I'm an NHS clinical support worker/medical student, husband works in retail, 2 primary school age children and none of us have had it🤷🏻‍♀️ Hoping it stays that way!🤞
