My assumption is that most people have a box or two at home especially if you have school age children or go out to work ?

I've annoyed the subeditor in me by combining two and 5 in one sentence...

Never had any and wouldn't know where to get them from. Last week someone in the chemist was told they weren't handing them over anymore without a qrcode but she didn't have a smartphone so couldn't get any (I was eavesdropping whilst waiting for a prescription)

Yes we have some from school, some from parents' care home and some from the NHS website. The only faff is that they're different types so I always need to read the box to know how to do it.

@buddythemum order them online or ask at the till in boots etc, they usually have a selection but all the ones DH has ordered online have all been nose only for months

Yep. Two boxes. Very handy if one of us starts to feel flu-like symptoms.

Nope, youngest used the last one and tested positive. OH was feeling a bit shit, so had to get one from our neighbour.

Getting them from pharmacy can be bit of issue now. Only cos the Tesco I went told me I needed a collect code now but they had no signal so had to go to car park hen and I then had to read the code out behind my mask! Proper stress

Just used my last test on someone incorrectly calling bullshit on me on another thread. God job I’ve got some more being delivered tomorrow!

So obviously not everyone should do them because if you haven't got a smart phone you can't get them easily, most old people, who are most likely those without smartphones would probably want to get them from the chemist, they may not use the internet either. The only way they could get them is queueing on the phone to 119. Very poor.

My DM is building up a stock of test packs by ordering them daily (the website allows you to order a new box every 24 hours). She is convinced the govt will be charging for them in future and the private ones are expensive, so she's stashing them so she can keep testing. I just pick up a box when I visit her, and my siblings do too.

I do this. I rated several months ago that the plan is to start charging for them, in fact, I believe some businesses have already been told they will need to start paying. I was told last week that they will start charging for them at about £15 per box. This came from someone in the public health dept at my local authority who visited our school in an official capacity.

We've now gone from none to having 21 tests, so at least I can see if my son has passed it on to me.

Seriously impressed with the online ordering. Ordered a box online last evening and it was delivered by the postie before midday today.

@dontletthemugglesgetyoudownn I've ordered some online but it never asked you to choose between nose only or both. I have some that are nose and mouth so I took one today and only used my nose and it gave me a negative result, not void. So maybe they're all ok just nose only now

I have a box of 7... but picked them up months ago. Not used any yet.
