I'm watching Sky News, and they have said there will be a news conference this afternoon... but why do they never say at what time? I've also had this on BBC news too previously. It is so infuriating Angry

YANBU- It is annoying they do not specify a time.
YABU- In 2021 you should search the internet to find it yourself.

I do not know how to do AIBU polls. One day I will figure it out and add it on.

@ktel1

I nominate Leafygreens as Defender of all restrictions and rules .

Anyone who deems to have an input or express a different opinion beware. Smile

I base my nomination on tireless posting on numerous threads .

Not really sure what you mean by that - wasn't aware my posting had breached some kind of @ktel1 limit.

Evidence?
Plenty of restrictions I don't agree with. Have already said several times I'm on the fence re: mandating vaccination for HCPs.

It's the continued use of misinformation that is boring and repetitive.

There is good quality evidence masks are effective in reducing transmission. They have very little burden on the wearer. I have no idea why in the insistence that they don't work when we have good quality evidence that they do - ie the RCT discussed on the previous page.

By throwing your toys out the pram and opposing any kind of suppresion measure, you're effectively arguing for harsher, more severe restrictions in the future.

Lower level policies to reduce spread right now reduce the chance of something damaging the hospitality closures, school closures, or routine healthcare being limited. It's really not hard to understand. Maybe the new variant will fizzle out, but it makes sense to do damage limitation until this has been established.

Yes but subtitles are often incorrecrlt and many Deaf BSL users arent first language English, and due to the shocking education for deaf children many adults have poor English literacy.

Other countries manage to ensure sign language interperters so dont know why england cant. And they have been though legal process already for failing to provide

It’s ridiculous. I work for an organisation of 400 staff and for the past year we have had a have a sign language interpreter in our all staff meetings etc due to a new joiner. Surely if we can do it the govt can!

It's beyond me why people are trying to excuse the failure to have a BSL interpreter. That is just plain shit.

Agreed. They've had ages with briefings going on to establish a list of interpreters. They just don't see it as important.

@ktel1 There's plenty of evidence that wearing face masks can reduce transmission. They need to be made mandatory in all public settings including schools.
