Anyone done one recently, how long until you got the results? Did one Monday posted for the 530pm pick up that evening. Still waiting. We are in southeast !

We have just had DS's back. Posted Tuesday. Positive but we knew that. No sign of mine yet.

greystripedpajamas · 20/11/2021 16:15

Posted ours first thing Thursday and no results yet.

What happens if you get a positive - when do they class day 1? The say the test was taken or 3, 4, 5 days later when the results come in?!

oopsinamechangedagain2021 · 20/11/2021 16:21

My husband posted his on a Sunday at a priority post box with 5.30pm collection. He got his result just under 18 hours after the collection. This is London/Surrey borders.

The 10 day isolation starts from the day after you took the test or the day after your symptoms started if they started before you took the test.

We posted my DD on Tuesday for last collection at 5:30 and tracked and arrived at 1 am weds morn. Still awaiting results. Surrey way.

DialsMavis · 20/11/2021 17:16

DDs came back negative at lunchtime today.... Hoping DHs doesnt take so long, he feels awful.

icelollycraving · 20/11/2021 18:37

Got mine and mum’s 24 hours after posting. No sign of the result for ds, who is the one we need the result for.

icelollycraving · 20/11/2021 18:42

I’ve always had results at same time. They were posted at the same time. I wasn’t expecting to hear anything today but now I’m refreshing texts and emails every 5 seconds. Ds is the one asked to get a test by school.

icelollycraving · 20/11/2021 23:24

Got Ds’ result at 915 so all received within 26 of them being collected from postbox.

BlackeyedSusan · 21/11/2021 02:03

ordered sunday as they had been a contact. delivered tuesday, back in the post Tuesday results 4 days later on Saturday. so 6 days.

BarefootHippieChick · 21/11/2021 10:10

Still waiting 3 days later. Dd is out of isolation after tomorrow anyway 😒

DCINightingale · 21/11/2021 12:50

Finally got my result back overnight after posting on Tuesday. Negative, thank goodness! DH still waiting for his test posted on Friday

Crunchymum · 21/11/2021 14:23

We posted ours at 1pm yesterday (priority postbox last collection 3pm) and no word yet.

DC2 and I both have horrendous coughs so regardless of the result she won't be going in to school tomorrow (I WFH) but I'd rather have the all clear so I can send my other 2 in, with a clear conscience.

We are Central London and we've always had good turn around from the test centre (longest 28h and fastest 8h) but I am home alone at the moment so ordered home tests this time.

Dancetherain · 21/11/2021 15:40

Did a postal pcr for dd2 on Wednesday as was contacted by the school that she was a contact and she had some cold symptoms. Sent it back Wednesday and called 119 today to chase as still no result. They are now chasing the result as it appears to have been lost.

Had to go for pcr myself today as have an outrageous cough, drive through so hoping it will be a quicker turn around. Am so fed up with it all now though!

Same here, 2 tests posted Thursday morning, results back for one today but the one I particularly want doesn't appear to be back from the lab so it's being escalated and supposedly results will be back within 24 hours. My arse they will 😒😒 Been dealing with this test for a week now. No wonder people aren't getting pcr tested anymore

Dancetherain · 21/11/2021 17:54

@BarefootHippieChick it's such a pain isn't it?! Finally got her result this afternoon after chasing it, negative but honestly I'm only doing pcr if I really need to. As I'm coughing I will need a negative pcr to go to work tomorrow so the wait continues!

Hope you finally get your results soon.

BarefootHippieChick · 21/11/2021 18:55

dancetherain they've just come through and they're negative which is good, but if I hadn't chased it we'd still be waiting! And she could have been back at school last week! Fingers crossed you're fine too!

dreamingofstars · 21/11/2021 21:24

Just called 119 and they can’t locate it… apparently they’ll issue a ticket? 🤨 in the next three days and if still not found advise to do another PCR..

However we have one more day of isolation from
1st symptoms so this doesn’t make sense and presumably if DD was positive she could remain positive on a PCR for some time.

Day before I sent off the PCR test our first PCR test arrived without a swab, without a security tag etc.

Dancetherain · 22/11/2021 09:08

@dreamingofstars we finally got dd result about 3 hours after calling 119 so fingers crossed a result turns up for you soon.

Thankfully mine came back this morning and I'm negative. Still coughing myself inside out tho.

Treaclepie19 · 22/11/2021 09:20

We sent of my sons on Thursday and have had nothing back. They've started the investigation as of last night but I'm not hopeful. He'll be out of isolation after Friday anyway 🤦‍♀️
I would like to know if he's had it though. He's been really poorly.

BarefootHippieChick · 22/11/2021 09:25

dancetherain I'm glad you're negative.
Interesting how many test kits are currently faulty and results going missing. Maybe I'm just cynical

girlmom21 · 22/11/2021 09:45

I'm glad you're all having issues too - in the nicest possible way! We sent DD's off on Friday and still waiting.

I'm assuming they're ramping down on staff in labs!

BarefootHippieChick · 22/11/2021 11:25

I'm assuming they're ramping down on staff in labs!

Me too. In the end people will stop bothering with pcr tests because they're more hassle than they're worth and then the positive numbers will go down.

BarefootHippieChick · 22/11/2021 11:26

girlmom you can ring 119 72 hours after the test was done and they'll escalate it. I did that yesterday and results came through about 6 hours later.

I think 72 hours will be in a few hours time then I posted in a priority postbox so would've been collected at 4pm. I assumed they wouldn't do anything before then.
