Vaccination card for booster

Are you supposed to be given a new card for a booster? My DH had his today and was told they only give them for first and second and not the booster. I was given one at a different vaccination centre.

Where I had mine weren’t giving them out. They didn’t have enough staff to keep the queue moving and write the cards up. It will all show on the online records anyway

oneglassandpuzzled · 08/11/2021 10:54

We either add details to the old card or more usually give out a new one.

But he can always look at the NHS app for the record.

Timescale · 08/11/2021 11:11

We got a card.

HundredMilesAnHour · 08/11/2021 11:13

I got a card.

AnyFucker · 08/11/2021 11:14

I got a card but have no online proof. The boosters rollout is a bit of a shit show, tbh.

AnyFucker · 08/11/2021 11:15

Mine is not recorded on the NHS app

madisonbridges · 08/11/2021 11:17

Does anyone know how long it takes the booster to show up on the NHS app? I had mine last Monday but its not showinh on my app yet.

PheasantsNest · 08/11/2021 11:25

It seems to vary where you have it done.

BurscoughBooths · 08/11/2021 11:26

What do you need a card for? I binned mine, couldn’t think of a use for it

PheasantsNest · 08/11/2021 11:30

@BurscoughBooths As a record of the vaccination.

The covid booster isn't showing up on the NHS App.

The story emerged a few days ago.

inews.co.uk/inews-lifestyle/travel/nhs-covid-pass-booster-jabs-holidaymakers-travel-bans-1286580

NHS Covid Pass: Holidaymakers face travel bans because app cannot display third booster jabs

Travellers find they have no way to show proof of recent booster jabs as foreign nations introduce ‘expiry dates’ for vaccination validity

It's a terrible App, terrible recording system, and terrible database. I hear they're reliant on obselete spreadsheet software, not modern relational databases. I wonder if people can get snail mail letters, as for the first two jabs?

heldinadream · 08/11/2021 11:44

Yep got card. So delighted to have booster now! Smile

It really is.

People want
(a) to able to book a booster (or 3rd primary vaccination if eligible) without running into an administrative shitshow,
(b) for that vaccination to be accurately recorded, and
(c) proof, for if and when they need it, eg travel

But no.

@PheasantsNest, I got a card. It was an old card, with '1' crossed out in biro and '3' written next to it. Not terribly official looking tbh!

Leftbutcameback · 08/11/2021 11:46

Yep, I got a card and it had the batch no on which my first two didn’t. I hope they sort out the app soon as other countries are already stopping you come in without proof of a booster Sad

Bacciform · 08/11/2021 11:48

How do you get it onto the NHS app begin with? Does it happen automatically?

Bacciform · 08/11/2021 11:50

Hadn't realised there are two NHS apps Confused

This really is a shit show isn't it!

Yiayoula · 08/11/2021 11:51

Had my booster on Thursday at local hub, previous jabs were at GP surgery .
On the NHS app , if I go to View your GP Heath Record - Medicines - Acute short term Medicines , the booster details are listed together with those of the previous vaccinations. HTH.

Lottie4 · 08/11/2021 11:52

I asked about a card and as told they weren't giving them out as it would all be recorded on the system. Hoping my GP has a record of it, as it isn't on my app with other doses.

Tana433 · 08/11/2021 11:53

Why are you even buying into this BS? You have had 2 vaccines in the last few months and now they want you to have another? 3 in the space of a few months? Is that even safe? When are people going to stop and question this complete nonsense or is this your lives now?

heldinadream · 08/11/2021 11:59

I've had three meals in the last 24 hours. So fucking what? Grin

You people are beginning to drive me nuts.

AnyFucker · 08/11/2021 12:05

I would understand if nobody was getting the boosters recorded on the NHS app but some are and some are not.

Yiayoula · 08/11/2021 12:05

No, Tana433, I wanted another.
My choice.
As it is yours.

Wilma55 · 08/11/2021 12:07

I got a new card with a sticker on but if you take your earlier card they put the sticker for booster on the back.

Sonex · 08/11/2021 12:15

DH had his booster 3 weeks ago and still not shown up on the NHS app. I had mine last week and also not there.

I was delighted btonget it as second one was in May and cases in my kids school are rocketing. DH is CEV so we were delighted to be able to get our immunity up to peak levels.

Fully expect to get on every year with flu, we are very lucky.

fournonblondes · 08/11/2021 12:17

Glad I read this. No card no booster for me. I only do this for proof to travel so I won’t.
