How many of you will comply?

I am interested to know if people will comply or not if they bring in Restrictions again about not mixing households, not seeing family or lockdowns etc again.
So many people I've spoken to are pretty much all of the same mindset of 'Fu#k that I'm not not seeing my family again, enough is enough and we have to get on with our lives now'
I also read this a lot on comments of articles where people are saying no they won't do it again and not see their loved ones or be told what to do over Christmas etc.

What are everyone's overall feelings as things stand right now?
@acatcalledjohn If that belief makes you feel better about being forced to wearing a mask then great.
If you think sharing your germs with potentially vulnerable people is a nice thing to do then crack on.

Wearing a mask on a train or in a shop really doesn't bother me and I wish people would do that in normal times with normal viruses, rather than sneezing & coughing all over the place. Regardless of what the government say, that would simply be a sensible thing to do.

But then some people can't see beyond their own wants.

I’ll comply because it’s not exactly hard is it ? The British seem to have a uniquely infantile attitude to public health.

The vaccines do seem to have hugely lowered the mortality rates. A 93-year-old parents of a Chilean friend of mine have had covid twice since they were vaccinated with one of the Chinese vaccines and they say it was like a mild flu.

WitchyNameChange · 22/10/2021 01:21

Where I live lot of mask wearing in shops etc but we still have high cases

You just proved my point regarding masks and how utterly pointless they are.

I will comply with mask wearing etc and think they should get on with it!
Limiting social contacts- no that ship has sailed. Time to live again. I have some very law abiding friends though which makes it tricky!

CherryBlossomWinter · 22/10/2021 01:32

I would comply yes. I’d do it for others.

However I am really angry that mitigations and contact tracing were abandoned, because they would, and will be enough of a barrier with vaccinations to prevent further restrictions. Mitigations are HEPA filters, ventilation, antigen tests, masks. Shorter self isolation, or daily antigen tests for all close contacts.

The above is a much more effective way of reducing cases and should be in all workplaces, schools, public transport. Lockdowns are just not feasible really now I believe. But too many are dying, being seriously ill and our health services are buckling, several cancer patients having delayed surgeries etc.

HeeHawSeeSaw · 22/10/2021 01:35

I will comply with the government's rules and guidance and I have done so throughout the pandemic. But I don't comply with mn guidance on covid where some seem to suggest if you've got a cold you need to get a pcr or stay at home.

@TheEvilPea

Did this a while ago in case they tried to pull the same stunt this Christmas. Not Spitting Image but to the tune of Whams Last Christmas. I came up with it back in May.

Last Christmas you promised five days but the very next day you took that away
This year to save me from tears
I will not take any notice.......notice. (repeat)

Another promise.........more lies.
We keep our distance but still the Covid spies.
Tell me now do you still like to fine us.
Another lockdown it wouldnt surprise us.
Merry Christmas, the rich still went on their trips
Got their haircut while pissing on our chips.
We know you see us as plebs
If you locked down now, public be abused again.
November lockdown gave us hope in our hearts.
Another promise broken, removing the Christmas spark
Ooh Ooh But if you locked down now we"d have to do it AGAIN!

Last Christmas you promised five days. But the very next day you took that away
This year to save me from tears.
I will not take any notice.......notice (repeat)

Explosivefarts · 22/10/2021 02:22

No I won’t comply. I mean if a shop or restaurant is shut I obviously will not be able to use them. But I won’t be kept from family .

Derbee · 22/10/2021 02:26

I won’t comply. Everyone I know is vaccinated, and that makes a difference for me

worriedatthemoment · 22/10/2021 02:27

@truthsayer35 are you a troll ? I mean really slating vecery post that doesn't agree with you to such extremes
You have no idea why parents are getting it for kids non at all , kids can be cev and live with people all are as well
It has absolutely nothing to do with you why people have had kids done and many kids can make informed choice's of their own there not all little kids
My 16 year old made up his own mind by reading and researching no wild conspiracy theorist s actual pros ans cons
Your a coward as I bet in teal life you haven't said this to any family and friends who have had it , easy to do sat behind a keyboard if your kids asked for it would you tell them no ?
People have a right go get a vaccine as much as they have to decline it

worriedatthemoment · 22/10/2021 02:30

@WitchyNameChange but we don't have them in schools , pubs and other areas
Its the schools here that are hit then kids being home and parents are catching ot or other relatives

worriedatthemoment · 22/10/2021 02:32

@truthsayer35 most people under 50 won't hit 6 months after vaccine by end of the year unless they are in the other groups

Coyoacan · 22/10/2021 02:59

Given how prevalent covid is and the fact most kids don't even know they have it, would you be confident of your child getting vaccinated

Personally I totally disagree with vaccinating under eighteen-year-olds unless they are particularly vulnerable.

worriedatthemoment · 22/10/2021 03:01

@Coyoacan what about if they want it is that not their choice to make ? Not randoms on the internet

MercyBooth · 22/10/2021 03:04

@LucyGrey I absolutely do not condone violence or abuse but the public were told that locking down would "protect the NHS" It was entirely predictable that some of them would get very very angry when they found out that was not the case.
