I doubt it

No no, BJ too busy for this shizzle

Wheel out Sajid the unconvincing, Boris throwing us and Saj under the bus, again

@Thefartingsofaofdenmarkstreet

I'm eligible for my booster but can't book it yet because not enough time has passed since my 2nd jab.
Then you’re not eligible yet…
RedRiverShore · 20/10/2021 20:05

Tier 4 couldn't meet at Christmas, we were tier 2 in Northants and could for Christmas Day, all the places bordering us like Beds and I think Leicestershire and MK couldn't as they were tier 4

nearlywed21 · 20/10/2021 20:06

Just joined the hread so might have missed it - was there a press conference and if so what was the summary?

RedRiverShore · 20/10/2021 20:06

BJ is too busy trying to sell his ASHPs to do the covid pressers

toomuchlaundry · 20/10/2021 20:15

@Silverswirl couldn't you have visited in-laws under the caring exemptions?

DonnaDonna01 · 20/10/2021 20:16

Chris Whitty said right at the beginning of this pandemic - this is a balancing act and lockdowns and certain restrictions would cost more lives than they saved as time went on. The fact is we are there if we like it or not.

toomuchlaundry · 20/10/2021 20:17

@nearlywed21 basically get your vaccine if you haven't already and get your booster once you are eligible for it

middleager · 20/10/2021 20:17

Did I also hear correctly that the advice from a Govt. official is to keep washing our hands?
FFS, this is the level of incompetency we're dealing with.

Diverami · 20/10/2021 20:20

Answer on the radio (not directly from Boris) : everything is going to be fine - because we managed everything so well in the past and have given lots of money to the NHS. We don't have to wear hair shirts. However, if things go wrong, we might have to take measures.

But it’s one of the best ways to prevent yourself from getting infected!

@MySaladDaysAreGone

Folks waiting for boosters - if you think you are eligible please try and book online. My parents in their 70s were patiently waiting for a Gp letter, before trying to book. I went on the nhs booking site and booked them in last night for 10 Nov. Please try it - it might not ‘let you’ but worth a go!
  1. You aren't supposed to do this
  1. I have tried at least twice a day since I have been eligible Grin (it doesn't work)
Iggly · 20/10/2021 20:26

How is hand washing going to help with an airborne disease.

Jesus actually wept.

Iggly · 20/10/2021 20:27

I did hear the hand washing bit and pissed myself laughing.

southeastdweller · 20/10/2021 20:29

I loathe Javid trying to blackmail us into getting vaccines. I also feel restrictions in the form of Plan B are coming anyway, that's what Boris wants according to a news story I read earlier. But the government are against further lockdowns, as am I, so that at least consoles me.

herecomesthsun · 20/10/2021 20:31

Why should anyone have to blackmail us into getting vaccines? They are a good idea.

There are people in other parts of the world who would dearly like to have access to vaccines, we are lucky to have them.

It’s not blackmail as such. It’s actually trying to blame the government for their own incompetence.

They haven’t done enough to roll out vaccines so now they’re trying to spin it as blaming the public. That’s why it feels like blackmail.

SilverGlassHare · 20/10/2021 20:39

@Xenia

It was London (and perhaps a few other places - NE England?) which had no Christmas last year and none the year before due to covid restrictions. Hopeful Christmas 2021 will be allowed again. Every family holiday since 2019 has been cancelled for us too due to the cover restrictions.
I know it feels like Covid had been with us forever but there were no restrictions in London Christmas 2019!
Inastatus · 20/10/2021 20:42

@xenia - there were no covid restrictions anywhere in the world in Dec 2019! Only one Christmas has been affected.

MummyOfOne89 · 20/10/2021 20:43

Twatbadger Fuckface.

Brilliant.

This. I'm not sure why everyone is arguing about it, to be honest.

Because I believe in free choice.
