@Lostinacloud

Yes 👏 absolutely!!

Lostinacloud · 19/10/2021 15:00

It’s all a joke to be honest. The goalposts that are continually met by the public continue to move. Maybe mass compliance is an alternative avenue to try to see what happens?
They’ve tried lockdowns, school closures, mass vaccinations regardless of individual risk and now boosters are rolling out. Next step vaccine passports (seemingly the goal all along). How about instead we all be trusted with our own health and interactions again and they put all this covid money into the fucking NHS.

Lostinacloud · 19/10/2021 15:01

Was supposed to say mass non-compliance

BewareTheLibrarians · 19/10/2021 15:01

zafferana Very true! I like the clarity of Japan’s strategy (hopefully the picture attaches!)

Plan B
dilly123 · 19/10/2021 15:02

@UtterlyUnimaginativeUsername

The unvaccinated are not causing excess hospitalisations or deaths In Ireland, 90% of adults are vaccinated. Only 30% of ICU patients are unvaccinated. That means that 70% of the ICU patients are coming from only 10% of the population. The unvaccinated are very definitely having a disproportionate impact on the health system.
Nope not making sense to me either.... apart from the fact that the 'vaccine' is not working as well as was hoped!!

There is absolutely no evidence to suggest it's the unvaccinated alone or even the majority transmitting Covid.

The nastiness is reserved for the data thread.

covidwoewoe · 19/10/2021 15:05

@Itisasecret you come on threads proclaiming to know more than everyone else and that a lockdown is imminent. That will wind people up.

Tuba437 · 19/10/2021 15:07

@Itisasecret

Of course it's on its way. It infuriates me as I have a child at uni and I don't want it. I actually made a post the other day and bet my house on it, maybe I should've added the savings too.

Boris will call a presser, restrictions such as masks and WFH will come back. Possibly bubbles as some schools have been told to do this anyway.

Let people spend over half term. Firebreak of holidays is just not enough. Waning immunity, shit. November and December it's not enough and boom lockdown.

All so avoidable if people did not bury their heads in the sand and say its fiiiiiiiine. It's not.

We have zero mitigation
Waning immunity
A shit booster roll out
Just in time for winter

Oh and some of the highest Covid statistics in the world.

I am going away this weekend and I'll enjoy some great nights out. Whilst I can!

So even if we implement more restrictions again... what about next year, and the year after and the year after that.

How do people not get that this virus isn't going anywhere. We can't keep restrictions in place indefinitely.

So @Itisasecret please tell me your long term plan of how we return to normal?

Habbyhadno · 19/10/2021 15:08

My friend works for the gov and said plan B is happening this winter.

I've never complied from the start of this shit show & I never will... I do hope most people will send a message to the government that we've had enough now!

No, I don't. I am allowed an opinion, especially as I am living in an area which is in a right covid state. Working in one and living in a household full of Covid. Pretty obvious to someone who lives in the outside world and not MN what is going on.

You have zero right to be nasty and zero right to get personal. Anymore of it and I'll report it. So leave me alone and stop following my posts.

Dear Boris,

When you've printed all these replies out - SCRAP ANY BLOODY VACCINE PASSPORT IDEAS!

Thank you

PLAiN to C

Itisasecret · 19/10/2021 15:11

We needed not to just rely on vaccines.

They should've 'done' the teens in the summer.

They shouldn't have abolished household contacts especially.

Masks in certain situations.

Not keeping a class open when over half have covid.

Sped up the boosters.

Just common sense things you know? All too late for it now.

Which makes me immensely cross as it is just dragging it out for worse and longer. My children deserve to have a normal shot at life. Not this.

fromdownwest · 19/10/2021 15:11

@Itisasecret - If you want to stay safe and lock down then crack on. If I am willing to take the risk then I should be able to do so. I think the risk is neglible, you think it is high.

I don't smoke as I think the risk of Lung Cancer is too high, some people choose to do so.

Let us get on and live.

Againstmachine · 19/10/2021 15:12

@Itisasecret so you know more than the scientists? Good for you.

I don't trust some of the governments advisors like Whitty and Vallance as they have been known to knowingly lie to the public to suit their agenda(and no not a conspiracy theory) and then we have people also like Neil Ferguson.

MeltedCheeseonTop · 19/10/2021 15:12

Sorry, do we know what Plan B is? I’ve just been happily living life day-to-day while I can, so have avoided reading anything!

roses2 · 19/10/2021 15:12

Even though restaurants will stay open this will devastate them. All those corporate Christmas lunches will go down the pan if the government invoke WFH guidelines

LetsGoBrandon · 19/10/2021 15:13

Vaccine passports are absolute bollocks, they will do nothing to contain this virus. They will just discriminate, divide the nation and cause massive unrest.

Itisasecret · 19/10/2021 15:14

I don't what part of "I am going out as much as possible, whilst I still can. I'll encourage my children to do the same." Makes you think I don't want to live?

I am actually the most anti lockdown person you'll probably meet right now. Oh, I work in a school so hiding away is tricky.

I am angry because we are sleepwalking into this shitshow AGAIN. Utterly avoidable with minor mitigation.

OchonAgusOchonOh · 19/10/2021 15:15

The next sentence stating That means that 70% of the ICU patients are coming from only 10% of the population. makes it pretty clear that there was a typo in the original post - it should have read 30% in ICU are vaccinated.

It absolutely indicates that vaccines are working.

QOD · 19/10/2021 15:21

@Theunamedcat

Plan "b" makes me think of site b in jurassic Park 🤔
I opened the thread to defend the abortion pill - known as plan B in USA ...
Lostinacloud · 19/10/2021 15:29

@Habbyhadno I have no doubt it’s already happening. There are already copious amounts of published government website pages detailing how and when to apply the vaccine passport, who is exempt etc. I’m sure I even saw something that said exemptions will be accepted without proof until 1st January when proof of exemption will then have to be provided. It’s all planned out and on it’s way but we can surely still stop it? Just need enough people to not suck up the pre-planned propaganda campaign and to want to live their life, accepting all risks to life including driving a car, flying in a plane, going to an off the beaten track country or coronavirus!

Foghead · 19/10/2021 15:44

Plan b should be get everyone’s underlying health as well as can be. Get blood tests, test for vitamin levels (especially d) And other markers for good health, promote healthy eating and get people moving.
In fact, that should have been plan a as it seems that vaccine or no vaccine, underlying health is still the biggest factor.

EileenGC · 19/10/2021 15:50

I live somewhere (within Europe) with Covid passports, compulsory FFP2 mask wearing and vaccinated teens.

No, vaccine passports haven’t divided the population or caused ‘massive unrest’. Where I work you cannot enter the shows we do without your pass, an FFP2 mask and proof of ID. Not even if you’re exempt. Masks do work because everyone wears them, they wear one that actually protects you and those around you, and you don’t see noses out.

Teens were vaccinated in summer and schools are not facing much disruption anymore. Everything is open and has been for months. We could still see our families and friends all through the last winter. We could travel. The numbers are low and always have been.

This reacting to high cases and coming up with plan B’s after they’ve let the numbers get bad is a thing the UK does. It doesn’t prevent, it reacts.

The only people leaving the country and entering the country that are testing are the unvaccinated.

And I’m sorry but this bullshit. I leave and enter the UK every couple of weeks and it’s not cheap. I pay £50 per test on average, every time I have to travel there. I’m vaccinated and still testing so don’t worry, I’m not bringing a dangerous forrin variant in. If anything, I risk taking Covid back home because the rates are 10 times higher than where I live.

Dancerinthedark01 · 19/10/2021 15:52

We all know Plan B was really their Plan A in disguise.

Surely we all know that!

No one actually believes any crap the government tells us anymore do they?
