Incredible that we’re still here and no further forwardAngry

Quite. Now double moderna'd I've come to the terms with the fact it was a complete disaster and moved on. Still concerned for those in a pickle trying to get approved vaccinations though. And still invested in the bloody stuff so desperately want it approved eventually!!!

I can't believe we are on thread 4. When we should all have being going off into the sunset knowing we did a good deed to help others.

I finish the trial on Monday. I didn't expect to finish it with no patent, let alone registration.

Pretty sure I only consented for 2 injection now will need 6.

I think I’m behind all of you……my final appt isn’t until December 23rd 🤦🏼‍♀️…. Will it be a Christmas present from them, to be told that it’s been approved 🤔😂🤣

My final appt is 25th November, I just want an approved vaccine now and it show on the app. I live in hope!

My last appt is 12th Nov. I will never go abroad, so technically dont need a “real” vaccine, but I just dont know what to do.

I had a Pfizer booster on Monday and think they only plan on giving me one even though Novavax isn’t approved. It’s by the by anyway because today I’ve been diagnosed with “Covid Arm” after a reaction to it and been advised by the doctor to declare it as a local reaction and have something different.
I rang the trial to say although still in the trial I’m unblinded and had Pfizer and they still wish me to attend the last appointment and consider me still in.

I tried to speak to the Covid number here to clarify dates between vaccine.
I was told to ask my GP/111/Drop in clinic.
I guarantee they'll say we can't help...

This will mean I can't get a flu jab til the middle of December !

My last appt was supposed to be November. I spoke to them this week about having it earlier. They said can you do Monday. So worth finding out if you can move final appointments.

I forgot about the flu jab thing, I just went ahead and had one mid september. Honestly, fuck Novavax and anything I “agreed”

Report
Woventabby · 02/10/2021 09:54

I had a flu jab a couple of days ago. I checked with the trial team as I might decide to get unblinded soon. They said it's perfectly fine to go ahead with it.

Cheers on the flu vaccine advice.

I had my flu jab this week. Didn't even think about it!

I’m having my flu jab whether or not……not going to sit around and wait for Novavax anymore. Thanks for the heads up about moving the final appointment…..I’ll be straight on that phone on Monday!

What an utter mess. I'm now double Moderna'd but still haven't been unblinded by the trial - haven't heard from them since I responded to an email confirming I wanted to be unblinded.

Both my Moderna reactions were unpleasant - in bed for two days, and then a day complete exhaustion and a fourth day of not feeling great. This time I also had diarrhoea from day 4-6 which was fun. My arm wasn't as bad second time round but I was advised to have anti histamines so maybe they worked. Totally worth it though - if the DT's passports come back in time we're planning on going to Paris October half term.

I feel a bit funny about it all - I've not been personally disadvantaged I don't think, and I've been quite pragmatic about it all. I feel fortunate to have been vaccinated so early, and grateful to have had you all for support, especially @Frazzled2207 and really lucky I didn't give the trial permission to upload my data, so at least now I'm sorted and have my two Moderna jabs in the app and hopefully no further complications.

aw @andadietcoke sorry you were poorly yet again! I was going to say I hope no more vaccinations for you but I think highly likely everyone will be getting some kind of booster at some point.

Hope the passports come back quickly!

I had flu jab, didn't even cross my mind to advise the trial!

My MP replied to my email asking for help, said she would raise issue with Javid and Whitty. But she did call the vaccine Novax throughout the whole letter, not sure that's terribly helpful!

Thanks for the new thread Frazzled.

My final appt is booked for Nov 4th. I'm heartily encouraged by KeepingOnKeepingUp's update and hoping mine will go as smoothly. I want to complete the trial, unblind, and then get an approved vaccine ASAP. I was in priority group 4 for the initial roll out and am for the booster too, but I want two!

I'll look at those links. Thanks Torveen. A call with KB?! How cool! What a woman!

I'm still hanging on to my shares. Despite having lost faith in the company, I still have faith in the vaccine and I can't believe it would be allowed to never get out there.

What a fuck up.

@PleaseReferToMeAsBritneySpears, she's amazing.
Given me more advice than any Scottish politician.

You can tell BBC Scotland might be subsidised as they refuse to cover the situation in Scotland . Yet covered it the other day in England . About a guy claiming he can't get an NHS booster due to the trial. And they been fighting the JCVI for months...

Booster just started.
I can understand ppl getting a 2nd vaccine for travel/work.

But seriously we've been fighting for registration since June, barely anyone will publish it.

At Covid recovery meeting last week, they were directly Q as to how come ppl in England are registered and we aren't.
The CMO muttered crap about blinding and we didn't know if we'd had a vaccine or placebo... I didn't know if I wanted to hit my head off a wall or reach through the screen to throttle them.
Completely incompetent.

If anyone on the ComCov2 trial is reading this I contacted them the other day to ask about boosters. I believe I was one of the first in the study & it will be 6 months soon so I will be eligible for a booster (I was unblinded for travel which was allowed under a protocol amendment).
Currently if I have a booster they will have to discontinue me from the study. They say they may try to get me in for an appointment at short notice if I let them know. There is an amendment being written to allow boosters so then people wouldn't have to leave the trial but I don't know how long that will take (presumably fairly urgent otherwise they will lose a lot of participants). I have said I'm happy to wait a short while.
And I had my flu jab the other day - wonder if I should have told them?
I've been following your story & I think it's awful how you've been treated. At least the ComCov2 people seem to have had it a little better - although it will have been more complicated for those who got Novavax as their 2nd one I guess.
