Virus levels and hospitalisations are only getting worse

Eh? Virus levels have been falling for a while now. Hospital numbers look like they’re on a plateau and will hopefully follow cases down soon.

Hospitalisations have been falling for the last 3 days from a high of 1150 ish to about 830 today. We are not out of the woods but they are not "soaring" as some other posters seem to think.

It's interesting people bang on about masks, and n95 ffp2 ect. But don't realise most places in hospitals it is the blue surgical ones that are used.

I agree, just been to the vets and the staff are wearing surgical ones. So why all the bluster about n95, ffp2 etc.

Was also at the hospital for an appointment a few days ago, all wearing flimsy blue things under chins.

Yeah the hospital told me to take off my FFP2 and wear a surgical mask I refused so ended up wearing the surgical one over my own

Yep I work at a hospital, people aren't that fussed about masks and people pull them down ect and we are talking about medical staff.

Given cases have dropped by 20% since last Thursday despite schools having been back nearly two weeks, it doesn't seem to be the time to introduce more restrictions.... We seem to have acquired enough immunity in the population,
both through infection and vaccine, for cases to be shrinking (albeit the trend needs to continue further to be fully confident) despite much of society being back to pre-Covid normality, or at least something pretty close to it.

I haven’t worn a mask since they became optional. By all means wear one if you want but don’t foist them on the rest of us thank you very much. 🙄
