Did anyone go to this festival and not come down with COVID! Every local youngster who went to it seems to have contracted COVID, and I see it keeps getting mentioned on MN, and all posters can't be referring to the same youngsters.

Have other festivals been the same?

@Catma2021

There are safer things than crowding together by the thousands and sharing portaloos.

The cost of the tickets! Shock Don’t know about class, but definitely spoilt brats with indulgent parents. Now a whole county is suffering high covid levels because of this entitled lot.

you sound like fun
Tangledtresses · 25/08/2021 17:34

Absolutely fantastic in Reading today! So many teens off to live An amazing weekend 😀😀
Mines off tomorrow good luck to them all

Bryonyshcmyony · 25/08/2021 17:35

Dd1 got her festival tickets as a Christmas present 2 years ago. So you can fuck off with your spoilt brat shit.

LST · 25/08/2021 17:37

Me, dp and our 2 boys are going to a festival tomorrow with a group of friends. It was called off last year. I can't wait

toomuchlaundry · 25/08/2021 17:42

Do they still have the Sunday night riots or is that not a thing anymore?

Catma2021 · 25/08/2021 17:44

Many people can’t afford that at Christmas.

So I’ll continue with my spoilt brat shit thanks.

The people picking up the pieces of all these holidays and festivals, such as health care assistants, are probably the same ones who can’t afford such luxuries. So yeah, festival goers and their parents are entitled people who couldn’t care less about the cost to others.

TheKeatingFive · 25/08/2021 17:46

I remember a post from someone on here stating sweepingly that there was no need at all for young people to go out ever again as they could socialise and even meet a partner online. Fantastic.

I’m sure we all know who that was Wink

What utter bullshit

My teen has had Covid in the last two months so he's not selfish

He also nearly died 3 years ago and spent six months relearning to walk

So FTFO

Catma2021 · 25/08/2021 18:00

Yes it is selfish. Clearly neither of you care about others who could die.

Bryonyshcmyony · 25/08/2021 18:04

Don't be ridiculous. You could just as easily pass it on.

U ok hun?
Brighterblighter · 25/08/2021 18:05

With our vaccines due to wane over the winter, perhaps getting the teens infected is a good thing..

Catma2021 · 25/08/2021 18:08

If the vaccines wane, high infection rates mean high death rates.

The thing is, absolutely nobody gives a shiny shit about whether you think they or their children are 'selfish'. Nobody at all.

But whatever makes you feel good, I guess.

Lolz. I'm going to a festival this weekend with 5 HCP. So how about you just wind your neck back in?

Just heard of another casualty of Boardmasters.

One of my husband's colleagues has just phoned in sick after his daughter caught covid at this event and he's now got it. Double jabbed, so not too ill. Even so, this is not good.

Eh? What part about he had it in July don't you understand?

He won't be getting it or passing it on.

Dear.

Yep Dh has just texted me to say one of his doctor colleagues has now got Covid (was isolating after his teen ds brought it back from the festival). Obviously the Dr is double jabbed but she’s actually quite poorly. I said earlier how this festival had caused havoc at our hospital in terms of staffing.
TheKeatingFive · 25/08/2021 18:33

Double jabbed, so not too ill. Even so, this is not good.

It is what it is, better get used to it.

For him, a mild viral illness, nothing to panic about.

Greenhand · 25/08/2021 18:41

Just to clarify - having had Covid once does not mean you won’t catch it again and it does not mean you can’t pass it on.

toomuchlaundry · 25/08/2021 19:22

One thing that possibly comes from this is that previously it was always argued that it wasn’t the pupils spreading the virus in schools but the adults in school or community spread. However, it would seem that at the very least teens can spread it and to adults that have been double jabbed

CourgetteGlutTony · 25/08/2021 19:23

@herecomesthsun

Festivals are fun. There are also ways of adapting the idea of them a bit so they are safer. We can do without moshpits for just a year or 2. Listening to music outside with people spaced apart a bit in a small music festival should be fairly safe.
You might be able to do without mosh pits, but thousands of young people wouldn’t agree.

Let's hope so shall we. Still seems unnecessary.

You need 28 clear days in order to get a vaccine after you've had COVID
