Waiting for my PCR results. Feeling so rough. Everything aches. I've taken paracetamol and slept most of the day. Feel like I've got the beginning of a cold and feel feverish but can't take my temp as the thermometer broke a while ago.
Urgh urgh urgh. Not really sure why I'm posting really!

I am another new joiner to the thread. Double Pfizer jabbed from March. Had a week off work at the beginning of August and we were out and about as a family to the beach etc and outside meals with friends…

Started as a sore chest on Sunday evening, feeling really not quite right Monday (negative LFTs both days), positive LFT and positive PCR done yesterday. Coughing started yesterday morning along with headache and tiredness. Sneezing this morning and headache got me out of bed. Burning chest is definitely there for me. See how today goes.

Piggywaspushed · 18/08/2021 07:41

Hello Both.

Hope you both feel OK today.

GCrebel · 18/08/2021 09:05

Possibly feeling a bit better today and I can breathe through my nose once more. Not been brave enough to move off the sofa yet though.

How’s everyone else doing?

Itis6oclocksomewhere · 18/08/2021 10:30

Can I join you?

Been doing lateral flow tests for work and did one this morning. I've got a slight sore throat, but none of the 3 main symptoms. Turned away to make a cup of tea and when I went to check it later, there was the positive result!
Just been for PCR and will wait to see what that says!

Theimpossiblegirl · 18/08/2021 11:05

Morning all.
Hope today is a good day.
Last day of isolation for everyone in this house apart from me. We all feel better but not completely. My main symptoms are blocked ears (everything is a bit muffled), brain fog and tiredness now, all others seem to have shifted.
DDs have coughs but even they are lessening. They've booked their second jabs together which is sweet.
One absolute positive to come out of this whole covid thing is that my girls have really bonded.

Kaftankween · 18/08/2021 11:34

I feel worse today. Felt better yesterday as the pounding head and sinus/eye pain had gone. Today is the arrival of chest tightness and cough. I have also cried twice today. I wonder when it will start to lift?

Siameasy · 18/08/2021 11:39

Hi I’m double jabbed, mid 40s female and just had a +ve LFT as I felt a bit shivery last night, scratchy throat and aches. Basically I feel like I’m getting a cold. Got PCR booked later

RainBow725 · 18/08/2021 11:48

Welcome newbies to our rather unfortunate club. Look after yourselves and take it easy. I am on Day 6 or 7 and feeling slightly more human but still wiped out and pretty blocked up but at least my nose has stopped running and sneezing!

Guylncognito · 18/08/2021 11:57

Hello achey gang Flowers

I'm going to have a grump about T&T. I know the people on the calls are just doing their job, I have no issue with the people doing the calls. But as a service it's the absolute pits, I've got so many missed calls from them that I missed because I was .... passed out asleep due to coroanvirus. I filled in my details online and it was the biggest pain in the arse and I'm just generally really grumpy about it.

theworldsbiggestcrocodile · 18/08/2021 12:11

Morning all. Can I join? I'm double jabbed, (since January) but just tested positive LFT and PCR came back this morning. I've already had it though so I must be doubly unlucky! Feel absolutely wiped out today, feverish and achey, same as I did when I had it last summer. Then is lasted nearly two weeks so I'm banking on the same this time. FFS!!

GnomeyGnome · 18/08/2021 13:43

Feeling slightly better today, headache not quite as severe and nose seems to be drying up. Cough has got a lot worse though and I'm now bringing up massive amounts of green gunk 🤢 Already on antibiotics, does anyone else have a productive cough with Covid as opposed to the dry cough we've heard so much about? Presumably as I'm already on antibiotics I don't have to worry about it turning in to anything more severe?

Guylncognito · 18/08/2021 13:51

Oh man @theworldsbiggestcrocodile that is some rotten luck!

mrssunshinexxx · 18/08/2021 14:00

@GnomeyGnome mine was more phlegmy than dry

breadwidow · 18/08/2021 14:38

Thanks for the responses re taste/smell loss. This symptom has to be the most depressing. It's my poor DHs bday today and he can't even enjoy a nice takeaway. I'm feeling more than a bit sorry for us both today.

FMSucks · 18/08/2021 15:14

Hi All. My PCR came back positive along with my DS13. He seems to be fairing better than me, seems to just have a cough so far.

Still feel like crap, absolutely wiped out today. Seems to be a new symptom every day! The rest of the family are being tested this evening. I’m expecting them both to be positive too but at least we’ll get it all over and done with if that’s the case.

Glad to see some of us finally on the mend

CelieandNettie · 18/08/2021 15:45

Hi everyone. PCR came back positive today so looks like what I thought was a stomach bug last week was actually the start of things.

changeoflife · 18/08/2021 16:22

I've just woken from a 4 hour sleep. Feel dreadful. My face literally hurts. Even blinking hurts. The loss of taste and smell is horrible too. I want to eat so I guess that is something but not being able to taste any of seems to render it pointless.

mrssunshinexxx · 18/08/2021 17:14

I cannot wait for my taste and smell to return it's been a week and it's miserable. My husband is probably 48 hours ahead of me and said he could taste 50% last night so this is giving me hope but not getting too excited as everyone is different

Piggywaspushed · 18/08/2021 19:24

Hi everyone. Light at the end of my tunnel today. Went for a day out and walked a very very long way. I didn't struggle at all (my feet are killing me) so was really pleased by that. No doubt will crash later.

Still not got any desire to eat proper food, but am an awful eater anyway. Still no smell for DS or me. DS's nose is permanently a bit blocked.

RainBow725 · 18/08/2021 19:52

That's good news @Piggywaspushed. It must have been great to be outside and be able to stretch your legs.

Piggywaspushed · 18/08/2021 19:55

Yes, it definitely was. I was surprised how well my legs coped tbh as three days ago I had to sit down after going upstairs.

Siameasy · 18/08/2021 20:02

Day one and feel tired and coldy. I’m also dizzy when I stand up-anyone got this symptom?

Piggywaspushed · 18/08/2021 20:10

Oh yes. Went away on Day 14....

cakeflower · 18/08/2021 21:10

Can I join? I’m on day 12 so first day out of isolation today. Week one was like a normal nasty cold but since that cleared up I’ve noticed other symptoms which are a slightly dizzy/woozy feeling on moving around, eyes feel sore, dry and straining to focus, maybe a bit light sensitive, I feel I can’t open them fully (this is currently the main issue I have) and an intermittent mild headache. Does anyone else have anything like this? I just want to feel normal again ASAP!

BuddleiasBeesAndButterflies · 18/08/2021 22:48

Day 15 here and nearly back to normal. Still have the cough (@GnomeyGnome, a productive cough rather than dry here too) and feeling tired still, but improving every day. Glad to hear others on the mend too.
Those asking about taste/smell, I never lost my taste, but did lose smell for a few days, I only realised because I cooked a curry and noticed I couldn't smell the onion and spices frying, I then went around the house sniffing things like a weirdo. It was one of my latest symptoms. I'd say I can smell slightly now, but not back to normal quite yet. I did a lateral flow test yesterday which came back negative for the first time which was a relief.
