Waiting for my PCR results. Feeling so rough. Everything aches. I've taken paracetamol and slept most of the day. Feel like I've got the beginning of a cold and feel feverish but can't take my temp as the thermometer broke a while ago.
Urgh urgh urgh. Not really sure why I'm posting really!

Not sure what went on. She didn't come back to this thread. Think she preferred to have her own thread.

FiveGensOfLove · 15/08/2021 22:37

@CatAlice sorry to hear, but hope you’re getting really good care (and a bed, at least?!).

HopefullyNotInfected · 15/08/2021 22:42

Sorry to hear that @CatAlice and wishing you a speedy recovery.

I think Bubbublish’s thread was deleted for being a troll (not sure if I’m allowed to say that).

lazymum99 · 15/08/2021 23:23

@HopefullyNotInfected

Sorry to hear that *@CatAlice* and wishing you a speedy recovery.

I think Bubbublish’s thread was deleted for being a troll (not sure if I’m allowed to say that).

That’s awful. I don’t know what the rules are about what can be said but how can anyone make stuff up like that.
FlatteredFool · 15/08/2021 23:33

She even posted a photo of her cat and I got no vibes about being fake. Except the heart rate of 36. That didn't sound right but I thought she was just confused as unwell. Wonder what tipped a reader off as if it was fake it's the most genuine one I've read on here.

Sorry OP, get well soon!

IndigoC · 15/08/2021 23:35

I presumed her thread got deleted because it attracted a troll? I thought she may have requested it. Really amazed if that was fake.

BishBashBoshBush · 15/08/2021 23:40

Thanks @QueenStromba and @mrssunshinexxx it's actually been really reassuring to know I'm alright with that little finger tip gadget. I feel less worried than I have been. Evenings seem to be when I get the most anxious/paranoid lol.
And oh no @CatAlice that's not ideal, but at least you're in the best place to help you when you need it. Sending big get well soon thoughts to you.
And I saw that Bubbublish was a troll- really shocked and surprised to be honest. Ah well, takes all sorts I suppose.

IndigoC · 15/08/2021 23:53

Yeah, okay, did some research. Feeling gullible now. Grin

Piggywaspushed · 16/08/2021 05:37

Morning all. Best not to talk about another thread. We don't want to get zapped ourselves...

Theimpossiblegirl · 16/08/2021 09:47

Good morning.
DH keeps getting contradictory text messages telling him about the rule changes on isolation. It's almost like they don't know themselves.
I feel so much better, I think I've been very lucky.
I can't wait to walk my poor dog. A friend has been taking her but she is very confused.

WTFIsTheAnswerToThis · 16/08/2021 10:57

How are you doing @CatAlice? I hope you are feeling better.

In the last six days I have received 8 emails and 6 texts from Test and Trace. It is annoying me quite intensely as I don't actually feel well enough to gambol around the shops being Patient Zero of my local area Hmm

Day 7 and I think I may be getting better though - this thread does seem to reflect the first 6/7 days is the worst? My sats are up to 96 from 92 and my chest is definitely clearing.

DD is 9 days and fine in herself but her cough is still lingering. Her sense of taste is coming back so she will be on Uber Eats later no doubt Smile

Fingers crossed everyone here is feeling better swiftly and good wishes for anyone in hospital (obviously best place to be from a medical point of view but saying that doesn't make it easier when you're there and want to be at home Thanks)

Piggywaspushed · 16/08/2021 11:01

I got called every day by T and T (no one else in the family did!) including when I was on a trolley in hospital!!

I have had communications with Cat. She is being kept in hospital just to check she is OK and keep an eye on her. Abundance of caution and all that. She wanted people to know she is coping and hopefully only in for a day.

AvonCallingBarksdale · 16/08/2021 11:07

We had zero Comms from T&T after the initial call Confused So inconsistent. Still no taste or smell here and a lingering cough which is normal but otherwise fine.

AvonCallingBarksdale · 16/08/2021 11:07

Good news from Cat

FiveGensOfLove · 16/08/2021 11:40

I’m pleased Cat is in good hands, and that some of you are also perking up. I feel a bit more human today (day 6) but still wiped out and zero energy to do anything/think!
But it was the first morning I didn’t need someone to bring me a Lemsip before I could move, so progress!

Piggywaspushed · 16/08/2021 12:08

I have sweating hands and feet back today, no smell and almost constant dizziness, which is unsettling.

breadwidow · 16/08/2021 16:54

Hello all. I felt well enough to work most of the day but by 3pm my head was pounding again and so I logged off. Now in bed feeling a tad shite.

My daughters pcr test result also seems to have got delayed / gone missing - got her tested Friday and no result yet. She's the only one of us symptom free

HopefullyNotInfected · 16/08/2021 17:46

Great news about CatAlice, hope she’s on the mend and out of hospital ASAP

@AvonCallingBarksdale I think we’re still on exactly the same trajectory, it will be interesting to compare notes on smell/taste. I think I’m going to look at some of the tips on how to help provoke the senses because I’m bored of eating what feels like bland food.

AvonCallingBarksdale · 16/08/2021 18:51

@HopefullyNotInfected - I read something about washing the inside of your nose… I’m desperate for taste to come back - I had chilli last night and that really wasn’t a great texture taste-free 🤢
If you happen upon any tips, let me know!

Kaftankween · 16/08/2021 21:53

@Torvi did your Covid pass come back? I’m in the same position as you. Hoping to go to Spain shortly after isolation ends.

HopefullyNotInfected · 16/08/2021 23:01

@AvonCallingBarksdale I read some tips here www.fifthsense.org.uk/smell-training/using-what-you-have-at-home/

I’ve just gone round my bathroom smelling coconut shampoo, lemon bubble bath and perfume and I could smell them all, which is a start. I will keep smelling those items and maybe add in coffee as well. I also took in a whiff of a packet of Dreamies and there was definitely something there, so I’m keeping my fingers crossed. Not sure about taste - it’s hard to tell whether toothpaste just feels minty or if it actually tastes like it too. I will investigate with food tomorrow. It does seem like you can recover one sense before the other though.

Torvi · 17/08/2021 05:53

@Kaftankween yes thankfully it did after a very stressful weekend. It comes back 10 days after your pcr test and not in line with your isolation period.
I spoke to loads of people at 119 about it and no one knew what the issue was. It was only after multiple emails to the support team that someone knew how it worked.

GnomeyGnome · 17/08/2021 06:45

Hi all, it's been really reassuring stumbling across this thread. I'm double jabbed, AZ, second dose in May.

Had really sore eyes last Tuesday and light was uncomfortable. Thought I had a hangover to be honest! Next day awful headache, next day sore throat and sneezing. Thought perhaps hayfever or a cold coming. Next day had lots of dizziness and just feeling "off". Took a LFT which was positive. Rest of household negative. Did PCR which came back positive. That night my temperature shot up and I spent the night alternating between sweating and shivering. Over the weekend my symptoms have progressed to headache, sore throat, ear ache, sinus pain, swollen neck glands, cough, tight chest, breathlessness, loss of taste and smell, very congested, exhaustion and very dizzy when not lying down.

So I'm day 8 now and have managed to haul myself from the bed to the sofa and I'm half sitting up so classing that as a win this morning. GP put me on antibiotics yesterday as I am immunosuppressed and they're worried about a secondary infection. Feel quite reassured I'm covered in that sense.

How is everyone else feeling?

Piggywaspushed · 17/08/2021 07:10

The sore eyes seems to be a definite symptom now. Look at wider MN and people are still wedded to the wider 'nope, not one of the symptoms, don't get tested thing. I wonder if this all goes back to British 'waste not want not' thriftiness, as if it's somehow not patriotic to use tests up?! That was definitely a 'thing' back in September when the government were definitely discouraging testing.

Yesterday, I felt like I could just smell the tea cooking (tagine so spicy) and a tiny bit of the pungent liquid soap I bought and regretted as it pongs. Goen again this morning. No smell eyt for DS, who also now has the sweaty feet.

I feel like I have a constant stinging pressure at the top of my nose and in my sinuses. It's not quite like sinusitis, but that's where the feeling is.

Sleeping much better.

Kaftankween · 17/08/2021 09:12

It is interesting how many double jabbed are catching. I almost feel relieved that we've caught it now (even though holiday plans ruined) as once schools go back without the self isolation following positive cases, it will rip through I think, and DD going into gcse year.

We've all caught it following a wedding. DD first, then me, now DH. DH and I second jabbed in May. Pleased DH and I have self isolated since DD pcr.

I also started itchy eyes, low level headache, sore throat. Progressed to horrible sinus pain, cough, sneezing, severe headache. Day 7 today feel I may have turned a corner.

Continued recovery everyone. Dread to think how we'd feel without the vaccine.
